App development company for Queensland businesses
Give your customers or staff an app built around the tasks they need to complete. For Queensland businesses, we design iOS and Android screens, build the accounts and data behind them, and handle store submission. MSH Technologies is a studio in India, and we work with you remotely through video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards.

Tools we use: React Native, Expo, Swift, Kotlin, Firebase, Node.js.
Choosing
Should you choose a cross-platform app or a native app?
We usually use React Native for iOS and Android. It shares a codebase across the platforms while using their own interface components, and we add native modules where a feature needs them. Web developers can contribute to the JavaScript or TypeScript code, and some logic can be shared with a React web app.
Native development in Swift for iPhone and Kotlin for Android suits an app built around deep device features, heavy graphics or complex background work. You take on separate codebases to build and maintain. Flutter is another option for a heavily branded interface: it draws its own screens, though your team needs to work in Dart.
A progressive web app suits some staff tools and skips store review. It does not appear in app stores unless packaged for them, and an iPhone user must add it to the Home Screen before it can ask to send notifications. We start with your business, audience and goals, then agree the scope with you.
Local
What Queensland businesses need from an app
Queensland transport businesses with delivery teams need more than a job list on a phone. Drivers can use forms, photos, signatures and location on each job, with records sent to the office when signal returns.
Businesses involved in Queensland fruit and vegetable production, grain crops or cattle raising need a practical way for staff to manage records. Alongside the app and its data storage, an admin panel gives office staff a place to edit content and look up accounts without calling a developer.
For an insurance or international education organisation in the region, an app can make sense when people already use its web platform frequently. Shared accounts and data let the app connect to the existing service, instead of asking users to maintain separate records.
Rules
What an app project in Australia has to handle
Australian guidance recommends WCAG 2.2 Level AA for equal access to digital goods and services. We use that recommendation when designing app screens and set up the interface with access in mind, so you can include accessibility checks in the work before release.
If your app takes card payments, the checkout needs to reflect Australia's removal of surcharging on debit, prepaid and credit card payments across the eftpos, Mastercard and Visa networks. We set up the checkout without those card surcharges.
How it runs
How an app project runs with us
India time is 4h30m behind Brisbane. We keep decisions and feedback on the shared project board, so work can move between calls across the time difference.
- 01
Discover
We learn about your business, audience and goals, then agree the scope with you. Bring the task you want people to complete and the people who need to use it.
- 02
Design
We prepare iOS and Android screens and refine them with your feedback before writing code. You can check that the flow follows the way your customers or staff work.
- 03
Try the prototype
Put the clickable design in front of a few customers or staff. Their feedback helps catch changes while screens are still cheaper to alter than a built app.
- 04
Test the build
You receive builds on your own phone through TestFlight or Google Play testing tracks. Use them for real tasks and share what needs attention.
- 05
Submit
We handle listings, submission and review under your developer accounts. You retain access to the accounts used for release.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
A short set of practical details helps us agree what the first release needs.
- List the tasks users must complete, in the order they will do them.
- Note the website, CRM, booking system or payment provider involved, whether each has an API and who holds admin access.
- Have a privacy policy that matches the data the app will collect; Apple requires a link in the listing and inside the app.
- For a new personal Google Play developer account, plan for closed testing before production release.
- Plan to keep developer accounts, signing access and the code repository in your business's name.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timing of app development
The amount of design, backend work and testing changes with the scope you choose.
User types
Customers, drivers and staff each need their own screens and permissions, even when they use the same backend.
Live features
Tracking, chat and presence need persistent connections and more backend work than screens that load data on request.
Interface variations
Custom animation, extra languages, right-to-left scripts and tablet layouts each add design and testing work across screens.
User-generated content
Moderation adds work. Apple requires filtering, reporting, user blocking and published contact details for apps with this content.
Avoid
Mistakes to avoid with app development
Wrapping a website in an app shell
Apple's guidelines ask for more than a repackaged site. Decide what people will do in the app and design useful screens for those tasks.
Putting sign-up before any value
Let people explore without logging in when the app has no significant account-based features. Apple's guidelines also ask for this.
Asking for notification permission immediately
Ask when the benefit is clear, such as after an order. On Android 13 and later, notifications stay off until the user allows them.
Questions

Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to develop an app?
There is no fixed price. Integrations, offline editing and notification rules all change the work involved. For example, saving changes without signal and syncing them later needs conflict handling, while an integration needs setup, testing and failure handling. We send a free quote once the scope is agreed.
Which app development company should I choose?
Choose a team that can explain how your app will work with the systems your business already uses. Ask where accounts and data will live, and how staff will manage them. We can build a shared backend that serves your app, website and admin tools.
How are payments handled in an app?
The payment setup depends on what you sell. Apple requires in-app purchase for digital content, features and subscriptions used in the app. Physical goods and services used outside it need another payment method, such as a card gateway. We also set up in-app purchases and subscriptions on both stores.
Does my app need an account deletion feature?
If people can create an account in the app, plan for account deletion in the build. Apple requires people to be able to start deletion inside the app; simply disabling an account is insufficient. Google Play also requires an in-app path and a web link for deletion requests.
Who owns the app and its accounts?
You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. Store publishing also happens under your own developer accounts. Keep access with your business so you can manage the product after release and decide who works on it in future.
What support does an app need after launch?
Plan for maintenance releases and check how people use the app. Google Play requires apps and updates to target a recent Android API level. Retention, drop-off in the main task and the crash-free rate help you assess a release. Some JavaScript and content fixes can go out over the air; native changes still need a store release.
