Pay for the work you receive.

Design and development is custom work: time is spent and cannot be returned to us once it is done. Our aim is that you only ever pay for work you have received, and that refunds are never a surprise in either direction.

This policy explains what happens when a project is cancelled or a plan ends. It works alongside our terms of service and the proposal for your project.

The deposit reserves your place in our schedule and covers discovery, planning and early design. If you cancel before any work has started, we refund the deposit in full. Once work has begun, the deposit is non-refundable, but any part of it not yet earned is credited against the cancellation invoice described below.

You can cancel a fixed-scope project at any time by telling us in writing. When you do:

• We stop work straight away and invoice for the work completed up to that point, at the rate implied by the proposal.
• Any amount you have paid beyond that is refunded.
• Any amount still owing for completed work is due within 7 days.
• We hand over all work completed so far, including designs, code and content, once the balance is settled.

If we cancel a project for reasons that are not your fault, we refund everything paid for work not yet delivered and hand over what has been completed at no extra charge.

Milestones that have been delivered and accepted, or that you have put into use, are not refundable. If delivered work does not match the agreed scope, tell us within 7 days of delivery and we will fix it at no cost. We would much rather make it right than argue about it.

• Monthly plans are billed in advance and can be cancelled with 30 days’ written notice.
• The current month is not refunded, as the capacity has been reserved for you.
• Any months paid in advance beyond the notice period are refunded in full.
• On cancellation we hand over access, backups and documentation so you or another provider can continue.

Domains, hosting, software licences, stock assets, API usage and app store fees are bought on your behalf or passed through at cost. These are governed by the provider’s own policy and are usually not refundable by us. Where a provider does refund, we pass the refund on to you.

Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within 14 days. Bank or payment processor fees that we cannot recover may be deducted. Refunds are made in the currency of the original invoice.
