What you get

What’s included in mobile app development

  • App design

Screens and flows designed for iOS and Android conventions.

  • Cross-platform build

One React Native codebase for both platforms, with native modules where needed.

  • Backend & APIs

Accounts, data, notifications and admin tools behind the app.

  • Push notifications

Timely, targeted notifications that bring people back.

  • Payments & subscriptions

In-app purchases and subscriptions on both stores.

  • Store launch

App Store and Google Play listings, submission and release.

Tools we use: React Native, Expo, Swift, Kotlin, Firebase, Node.js.

Choosing

Should you choose cross-platform or native development?

A cross-platform app is a practical choice when your main tasks involve accounts, forms, bookings, maps, payments or content. React Native shares most of the code between iOS and Android, so there is less separate platform work to manage. It renders each platform’s own interface components, and developers familiar with JavaScript or TypeScript can contribute. Some logic can also be shared with a React web app.

Flutter is another cross-platform option. It draws its own interface, which suits a heavily branded design that needs to look identical across platforms, but your development team needs to work in Dart. The choice affects who can maintain and extend the app later, so ask about that before settling on a framework.

We usually build with React Native and add native modules when a feature needs them. For an app that depends on deep device features, we go native. Bring us the tasks your users need to complete and the device features involved; we will discuss the build approach as part of agreeing the scope.

Local

What West Virginia organisations need from an app

Small businesses make up much of the state’s business community. For a shop or restaurant with repeat customers, an app needs a quick way to reorder, a checkout that is easy to complete and a considered approach to loyalty and notifications. Decide which task customers would return to before adding screens.

West Virginia State Parks receives substantial visitor use. For an organisation managing park inspections, a field app could give staff forms, photos, signatures and a location for each job, with records sent to the office when signal returns. That calls for a clear plan for what staff can do while offline and how the office receives their updates.

Rules

What a United States app project has to handle

For a state or local government app, the ADA Title II rule requires WCAG 2.1 Level AA. That changes the screen design and testing work: accessibility needs to be part of the scope from the start, rather than a check added after the screens are finished. We set up accessibility checks against that standard as the screens and flows are developed, so the team has work to review before release.

How it runs

How a mobile app project runs with us

We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and a shared project board. India time is ahead of mainland US time, with the difference changing during daylight saving time. We use the shared board to keep decisions and feedback visible between calls, so you can review work without waiting for a meeting.

  1. 01

    Discover

Tell us about your business, audience and goals. We agree the scope with you, including the tasks the first release needs to cover.

  2. 02

    Design

We prepare iOS and Android screens and refine them with your feedback before writing code. You can check that the flow reflects how your customers or staff work.

  3. 03

    Prototype

Put the clickable design in front of a few real customers or staff. Their feedback gives you a chance to change a screen before it is built.

  4. 04

    Test

We send builds to your phone through TestFlight or Google Play testing tracks. Use the app for real tasks and share what needs attention.

  5. 05

    Submit

If the app has a login, prepare a working demo account and a live backend for Apple’s review. Leave room in the launch plan for fixes and resubmission.

Checklist

What to have ready before we talk

Gather these details early so account setup, integrations and store requirements are part of the scope.

  • Developer accountsPlan to register Apple and Google accounts in your company’s name; organisation accounts need a D-U-N-S number.
  • Google Play testingCheck whether a new personal account needs its closed test before production release.
  • Existing systemsList your website, CRM, booking software or payment provider, their APIs and who holds admin access.
  • Privacy policyHave a policy that matches the data the app collects, ready to link inside the app and in its Apple listing.
  • Account deletionIf users can create accounts, plan an in-app deletion path and a web link for deletion requests.

Cost & time

What affects the cost and timeline?

The scope determines how much design, build and testing work the project needs.

  • User roles

Customers, drivers and staff each need their own screens and permissions, even when they share a backend.

  • Live features

Tracking and chat need persistent connections and more backend work than screens that load data on request.

  • Integrations

Each payment gateway, booking system or device needs setup, testing and a plan for failures.

  • Existing backend

A documented API can reduce work; a new backend and admin panel can be as large a task as the app itself.

  • User content

Posts and other submitted material need filtering, reporting and blocking controls, plus published contact details.

Avoid

Mistakes to avoid

  • Wrapping a website without an app-specific purpose

Apple expects more than a repackaged site. Define the tasks people gain from installing the app before choosing that route.

  • Asking for notification permission immediately

Ask when the benefit is clear, such as after an order. On Android 13 and later, notifications stay off until the user permits them.

  • Adding an analytics or advertising SDK late

Update the store privacy answers when the app’s data collection changes. Google Play’s Data safety form must include data collected by third-party SDKs.

Questions

Asked by businesses in West Virginia

Page updated 5 November 2026

How much does it cost to develop an app?

There is no fixed price: the work depends on what the app needs to do. An admin panel for staff and offline editing with later syncing both add scope; showing previously loaded data without signal is a smaller task than resolving conflicts between offline edits. Once the scope is agreed, ask for a free quote that separates the app, backend and admin work.

How should you choose an app development company?

Choose a team whose working arrangements let you discuss decisions with the people building the product. With us, you talk directly to the designers and developers. Ask a prospective supplier how feedback reaches the people working on your screens and how they will explain changes to the agreed scope.

Would a progressive web app be enough?

It could be, particularly for a staff tool where you do not need a store listing. A progressive web app skips store review, but it does not appear in app stores unless packaged for them. On an iPhone, it can ask to send notifications only after someone adds it to the Home Screen.

Can the app use the same accounts as our website?

Yes. We build a shared backend for your app, website and admin tools, so accounts and data live in one place. For notifications, we also need a sending service, rules for who receives each message and when, and settings inside the app for switching unwanted categories off.

Who owns the store accounts and code?

Keep the developer accounts, signing access and code repository in your business’s name. That makes the app easier to move if you change suppliers. We handle the store listings, submission and review under your own developer accounts, so you retain access to the accounts used to publish the product.

What support does an app need after launch?

Plan for bug fixes, operating-system updates and new features after release. We provide ongoing support for that work. Add analytics and crash reporting to the first release so you can see where people leave a task and which devices crash; then review returning use and crash-free performance as updates go out.
