What you get

What’s included in mobile app development

  • App design

Screens and flows designed for iOS and Android conventions.

  • Cross-platform build

One React Native codebase for both platforms, with native modules where needed.

  • Backend & APIs

Accounts, data, notifications and admin tools behind the app.

  • Push notifications

Timely, targeted notifications that bring people back.

  • Payments & subscriptions

In-app purchases and subscriptions on both stores.

  • Store launch

App Store and Google Play listings, submission and release.

Tools we use: React Native, Expo, Swift, Kotlin, Firebase, Node.js.

Choosing

Should you choose cross-platform or native development?

We usually build with React Native, using one codebase for iOS and Android and native modules where a feature needs them. It uses JavaScript or TypeScript and renders each platform’s own interface components. If you already have web developers, they can contribute to the app; a React website can also share some logic with it. This is a useful route when you want to cover both platforms without maintaining a separate codebase for each.

Flutter is another cross-platform option. It uses Dart and draws its own interface, which suits a heavily branded design where you want screens to look identical across platforms. Your team would need to be willing to work in Dart. The choice affects both the interface and the skills needed to maintain the app.

Native development uses Swift for iPhone and Kotlin for Android. It fits an app built around deep device features, heavy graphics, complex background work or new platform features at launch. The trade-off is a separate codebase for each platform, with both to build and maintain. We go native when the device features make that the appropriate choice.

Market

What do app buyers in the United States need to plan for?

An appointment business such as a clinic, salon or gym needs booking, reminders, payments and a staff view of the day’s schedule. A delivery, maintenance or inspection team has a different task: collecting forms, photos, signatures and locations on jobs, then syncing them to the office when signal returns. Start with the task your users need to finish, and give staff the information they need to act on it.

For checkout, what you sell changes the build. We set up in-app purchases or subscriptions for digital content and features, using the stores’ billing requirements. Physical goods and services need another payment route. Stripe is available to businesses in the country, so we can plan a card gateway for that checkout.

Rules

What must a United States app project handle?

For a state or local government app, the accessibility requirement changes the screen design: the app must meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We set up the screen designs against that standard from the start, so accessibility is part of the work on the app people use. Include the staff who manage the service in design feedback, as well as the people who will use its public-facing screens.

How it runs

How does a mobile app development project run with us?

We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. In winter, India is 10h30m ahead of Eastern time and 13h30m ahead of Pacific time; the difference is 1 hour less during daylight saving time. The shared board gives you a place to leave feedback for the team across that gap.

  1. 01

    Discover and design

We learn about your business, audience and goals, then agree the scope with you. We design the screens and refine them with your feedback before writing code.

  2. 02

    Check the prototype

Put the clickable design in front of a few customers or staff who know the task. Tell us where they hesitate or cannot complete it; changing a screen at this stage is cheaper than changing it after the build.

  3. 03

    Try a test build

You receive builds on your own phone through TestFlight for iPhone or Google Play’s internal or closed testing tracks. Use the app for its main task and send us feedback from that use.

  4. 04

    Prepare the release

We handle the store listings, submission and review under your developer accounts. You retain control of those accounts while we take care of the submission work.

Checklist

What should you have ready before we talk?

Bring the details that help us agree what the first release needs to do.

  • User tasksList what people must be able to do, in the order they will do it, before adding a long feature list.
  • Existing systemsNote the website, CRM, booking system, ERP software or payment provider involved, plus any APIs and who holds admin access.
  • Privacy policyHave a policy that matches the data the app collects; Apple requires a link in the app and its store listing.
  • Apple account deletionIf users create accounts, we need to provide a way to start deletion inside the app; deactivation alone is insufficient.
  • Google Play deletionAccount creation also calls for an in-app deletion path and a web link for deletion requests.

Cost & time

What affects the cost and timeline of mobile app development?

The work grows with the number of distinct flows, connections and screens the app needs.

  • User roles

Customers, drivers and staff each need their own screens and permissions, even when they share a backend.

  • Live features

Tracking, chat and presence need persistent connections and more backend work than screens that load data on request.

  • Integrations

Each payment gateway, CRM, booking system or device connection adds setup, testing and work to handle failures.

  • Screen design

Custom animation, extra languages, right-to-left scripts and tablet layouts add design and testing across screens.

  • User content

Posts and other user-generated material need moderation features, including reporting, blocking and a way to contact you.

Avoid

What mistakes should you avoid?

  • Wrapping a website

An app that only repackages your site risks rejection. Give people a useful app experience with a task they have a reason to complete on their phone.

  • Demanding sign-up too early

Let people see value before creating an account. Apple also asks apps without significant account-based features to allow use without login.

  • Asking for notifications at launch

Request permission when the benefit is clear, such as after an order. On Android 13 and later, notifications remain off until the user allows them.

Questions

Asked by businesses in United States

Page updated 5 November 2026

How much does it cost to have an app developed?

There is no fixed price: the scope determines the work. An app can include the phone interface, a backend and an admin panel for staff. Offline editing and later syncing also need more work than showing previously loaded data without signal. Agree those requirements before requesting a quote.

How should I choose a mobile app development company?

Choose a team you can speak to directly about the work. With us, you talk to the people who design and build your product. Use that conversation to discuss the screens and flows you need, how you will give feedback, and who will answer questions as the work progresses.

What is included behind the app screens?

We build the backend for accounts and data, and it can serve your website and admin tools as well as the app. For push notifications, the work also includes a sending service, rules for who receives each message and when, and in-app settings for switching unwanted categories off.

Who owns the app code and accounts?

You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. Keep your developer accounts, signing access and code repository in your business’s name too. Holding those assets yourself makes it easier to move the app to another developer if your needs change.

What support does an app need after launch?

Plan for bug fixes, operating-system updates and new features. Google Play also requires apps and updates to target a recent Android API level, so regular maintenance releases need a place in your plans. Track returning users, where they drop out of the main task and the crash-free rate after releases.

What should I prepare for store submission?

If the app has a login, provide a working demo account and a live backend for Apple’s review. Leave room for a fix and resubmission if needed. New personal Google Play developer accounts also need a closed test with opted-in testers before production release.
