What you get

What’s included in mobile app development

  • App design

Screens and flows designed for iOS and Android conventions.

  • Cross-platform build

One React Native codebase for both platforms, with native modules where needed.

  • Backend & APIs

Accounts, data, notifications and admin tools behind the app.

  • Push notifications

Timely, targeted notifications that bring people back.

  • Payments & subscriptions

In-app purchases and subscriptions on both stores.

  • Store launch

App Store and Google Play listings, submission and release.

Tools we use: React Native, Expo, Swift, Kotlin, Firebase, Node.js.

Choosing

Should you choose cross-platform or native development?

A cross-platform build suits an app centred on accounts, forms, lists, maps, bookings, payments or content. We usually use React Native, sharing a codebase across iOS and Android and adding native modules where a feature needs them. It uses each platform’s own interface components and is written in JavaScript or TypeScript, so web developers can contribute. Some logic can also be shared with a React web app.

Flutter is another cross-platform option. It uses Dart and draws its own interface, which suits a heavily branded app where you want screens to look identical across platforms and are comfortable maintaining Dart code. The choice affects who can work on the app later as well as how its screens are built.

Native development fits an app that depends on deep device features, heavy graphics, complex background work or access to new platform features at launch. The trade-off is maintaining separate Swift and Kotlin codebases. Start with the features your users need; that gives the platform decision a practical basis.

Local

What Nebraska organisations need from an app

Agriculture is a substantial part of Nebraska’s economy, and freight and manufacturing are important sectors too. If your people collect information away from the office, an app can give each job offline forms, photos, signatures and location details, then sync the records when a signal returns. That gives office staff access to the information collected in the field.

If you run an appointment business in Nebraska, your customers need a straightforward way to book and pay, while staff need to see the day’s schedule. Reminders give the app a useful role between booking and the appointment. Agree which parts staff must edit before deciding what belongs in the first release.

Rules

What a US app project has to handle

For a state or local government app, the Title II rule requires WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We set up the screen designs against that standard and include accessibility checks in the work, so requirements for the app are considered during design.

Your checkout depends on what you sell. Digital content, features and subscriptions used in an Apple app generally need in-app purchase; physical goods and services used outside it need another payment method. US businesses can sign up with Stripe, so we can set up a card checkout for those physical purchases.

How it runs

How an app project runs with us

Remote work needs clear handovers. India is 10h30m to 13h30m ahead of the mainland US in winter, and 1 hour less during daylight saving time. We use test builds and written feedback to keep decisions moving across the difference.

  1. 01

    Discover

You explain your business, audience and goals; we agree the scope with you, including the tasks the app must support.

  2. 02

    Design

We prepare iOS and Android screens and refine them with your feedback before code is written. You can check the flow before build decisions are fixed.

  3. 03

    Test

You use a build on your own phone and send feedback from real use. TestFlight distributes iPhone builds, while Google Play offers internal or closed testing tracks.

  4. 04

    Submit

We handle the App Store and Google Play listings, submission and release. You review the listing information that describes your app.

  5. 05

    Prepare for review

If your app has a login, provide a working demo account and a live backend. Leave room in the launch plan for fixes and resubmission if needed.

Checklist

What to have ready before we talk

Bring enough detail to make the first discussion useful.

  • List the tasks users must complete in the first release, in the order they do them.
  • Name the website, CRM, booking system or other software the app must connect to; note its API and who holds admin access.
  • Start registering Apple and Google developer accounts in your company’s name; organisation verification needs a D-U-N-S number.
  • If you plan to use a new personal Google Play account, plan for the required closed test before production release.
  • Decide who will manage your developer accounts while we handle the store listings, submission and review.

Cost & time

What affects the cost and timeline?

The work grows with the number of flows, systems and screens the app needs.

  • User types

Customers, drivers and staff each need their own screens and permissions, even with a shared backend.

  • Existing systems

A documented backend API can reduce work; a new backend and admin panel add a substantial build.

  • Integrations

A payment gateway, booking system or scanner needs setup, testing and handling for failures.

  • Screen variations

Custom animation, additional languages or tablet layouts add design and testing across screens.

  • User-generated content

Filtering, reporting, blocking and published contact details add moderation work.

Avoid

Mistakes to avoid

  • Wrapping a website in an app shell

Give people a useful app experience beyond the repackaged site; a basic wrapper risks store rejection.

  • Asking for notification permission immediately

Ask when the benefit is clear, such as after an order. On Android 13 and later, notifications stay off until the user allows them.

  • Adding an analytics or advertising SDK without updating privacy answers: Include the data collected by third-party SDKs in Google Play’s Data safety form.

Questions

Asked by businesses in Nebraska

Page updated 5 November 2026

How much does it cost to have an app developed?

There is no fixed price. The scope drives the quote: offline viewing is less work than creating and editing records without signal and syncing them later, while purchases and subscriptions also need to be built into the app. Agree the first-release scope before requesting a quote.

How should I choose an app development company?

Choose a team that can explain how it will build and measure the product you need. For a consumer or marketplace app, ask how it will cover both stores and show whether people return. Look at retention, drop-off in the main task and the crash-free rate.

What is included behind the app screens?

We build the backend and APIs for accounts, data, notifications and admin tools. For push notifications, that includes a sending service, rules for who receives each message and settings for users. Analytics and crash reporting belong in the first release so you can see screen use and device crashes.

Will I own the app code?

Yes. You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. Keep the code repository, developer accounts and signing access in your business’s name too. Those controls make it easier to move the app later if you change the people maintaining it.

What happens after the app launches?

Launch is followed by ongoing support, including bug fixes, operating-system updates and new features. Plan maintenance releases for Google Play’s Android API requirements. Some JavaScript and content fixes can go out over the air, but native code changes and new permissions still need a store release.

Can the app share accounts with my website?

Yes. We can build one backend for the app, website and admin tools, keeping customer accounts and data in one place. If people can create an account in the iPhone app, the app must also let them start deleting it there; a deactivate option alone is not enough.
