Choosing
Should you build a cross-platform, native or web app?
We usually build with React Native, sharing a codebase across iOS and Android and adding native modules where a feature needs them. It suits apps built around accounts, forms, bookings, maps, payments and content. Sharing code reduces the amount you have to maintain across the platforms, while screens can follow each platform’s conventions.
A native build fits an app centred on deep device features, heavy graphics or complex background work. The trade-off is a separate codebase for each platform. Flutter is another cross-platform option: it draws its own interface, which suits a heavily branded design, provided the team is willing to work in Dart.
A progressive web app is worth considering for a staff tool. It skips store review, though it won’t appear in the app stores unless packaged for them. On an iPhone, it can ask to send notifications only after the user adds it to the Home Screen. That constraint belongs in the decision if reminders are central to the task.
Local
What Wyoming businesses need from an app
Travel and tourism are major parts of Wyoming’s economy. A restaurant serving repeat visitors might need reordering, loyalty and saved payment details, with a fast checkout and notifications sent at useful moments.
Agricultural businesses working with products such as livestock, wheat or wool may already have customers using a web platform. When those customers use it frequently, an app can reuse their accounts and data through the same backend.
The state also has public and private colleges. An organisation planning an app needs to consider the staff work behind it: an admin panel can let authorised staff edit content, look up accounts and block abusive users without calling a developer.
Rules
What a US mobile app project has to handle
If you are building for a state or local government, the app needs to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA under the ADA Title II rule. We design and test the app against that accessibility requirement as part of the build.
The payment flow needs to match what you sell. We set up in-app purchases for digital content, features and subscriptions used in the app, and a card checkout for physical goods or services used outside it. Stripe is available to US businesses that want to accept payments.
How it runs
How an app project runs with us
We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India is ahead of the mainland US, and the gap changes with daylight saving, so we keep feedback and decisions on the shared board for work between calls.
- 01
Discover
We learn about your business, audience and goals. You help us agree what belongs in the scope before design starts.
- 02
Design
We create iOS and Android screens and refine them with your feedback before writing code. Put the clickable prototype in front of a few customers or staff; changing a screen at this stage costs less than changing it after the build.
- 03
Build and test
We send test builds to your phone through TestFlight or Google Play testing tracks. Use them for real tasks and share what needs attention.
- 04
Prepare for review
If the app has a login, we prepare a working demo account and live backend for Apple’s review. Leave room in the launch plan for a fix and resubmission if needed.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
We submit the app under your own developer accounts. These items help you prepare for that work.
- List the tasks users must complete in the first release, in the order they would do them.
- Register Apple and Google developer accounts in your company’s name. Organisation verification needs a D-U-N-S number, so start that process early.
- Prepare a privacy policy matching the data the app collects; it needs links in the Apple listing and inside the app.
- If you use a new personal Google Play account, plan for its required closed test before production release.
- If users can create accounts, plan an in-app deletion path. Google Play also requires a web link for deletion requests.
Cost & time
What affects app development cost and time
The scope determines the work. These choices add design, build and testing effort.
User roles
Customers, drivers and staff each need their own screens and permissions, even when they share a backend.
Integrations
A payment gateway, booking system or scanner needs setup, testing and a plan for failures.
Live features
Tracking and chat need persistent connections and more backend work than screens that request data when opened.
User-generated content
Moderation needs filtering, reporting, user blocking and published contact details to meet Apple’s requirements.
Avoid
Mistakes to avoid when building an app
Putting sign-up before any useful content
Let people explore without logging in when the app has no significant account-based features.
Asking for notification permission immediately
Ask when the benefit is clear, such as after an order. Android keeps notifications off until the user allows them.
Adding an analytics or advertising SDK without updating privacy answers: Include the data collected by third-party SDKs in Google Play’s Data safety form.
Leaving access in an agency’s name
Keep developer accounts, signing access and code repositories in your business’s name so the app is easier to move.
Questions
Asked by businesses in Wyoming
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to develop an app?
There is no fixed price. An existing backend with a documented API reduces work, while a new backend and admin panel add to it. Push notifications also need a sending service, audience rules and settings for the categories users want to receive. We agree the scope before preparing a quote.
Which app development company should I choose?
Choose a team that can explain its technical recommendation in terms of your app’s features. We consider React Native when sharing a codebase across iOS and Android fits the work, and native development when the app needs deep device features. Ask how that choice affects the code you will maintain.
What is included in the app build?
The build includes screens and flows designed for iOS and Android conventions, plus a React Native codebase shared across the platforms, with native modules where needed. We can also build a shared backend for your app, website and admin tools, keeping customer accounts and data in one place.
Will I own the app code?
Yes. You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. Keep those assets under your business’s control as the project progresses, so you can decide how the product and its content are managed after the build and retain access to what you own.
What happens after the app launches?
We provide ongoing support for bug fixes, operating system updates and new features. Plan maintenance releases as part of that work: Google Play requires new apps and updates to target a recent Android API level, and outdated apps become unavailable to new users on newer devices.
How will I know whether people use the app?
Start with analytics and crash reporting in the first release. Tools such as Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics or Sentry show screen use, drop-off and device crashes. Look at how many people return and where they leave the main task, alongside the crash-free rate, instead of judging the app by downloads alone.
