Mobile app developers for Michigan businesses
Give your customers or staff an app with screens designed for iOS and Android, a backend for accounts and data, and a route to release on both app stores. From India, we build these parts for Michigan organisations as a web, app and AI studio. You work with us on the app, its backend and its store release.

Choosing
Should you choose cross-platform or native development?
A cross-platform app is a practical starting point when your product centres on accounts, forms, lists, maps, bookings, payments or content. React Native shares most code across iOS and Android while rendering each platform’s own interface components. It uses JavaScript or TypeScript, so web developers can contribute, and some logic can be shared with a React web app.
Flutter is another cross-platform option. It uses Dart and draws its own interface, which suits a heavily branded app where you want screens to look identical on both platforms and your team is willing to work in Dart. That choice affects who can work on the code after launch.
Native development uses Swift for iPhone and Kotlin for Android. It fits apps built around deep device features, heavy graphics, complex background work or new platform features at launch. You will have separate codebases to build and maintain. We generally use React Native and go native when the app needs deep device features.
Local
What Michigan businesses need from an app
Manufacturing is Michigan’s largest output sector, and the headquarters of the country’s three major automobile companies are in Metro Detroit. A manufacturer with maintenance or inspection staff needs job forms that hold photos and signatures, then sync records to the office when signal returns. Decide early whether staff only need to view previously loaded data offline or also need to edit records and resolve sync conflicts.
In the Upper Peninsula’s tourism sector, a restaurant serving repeat customers might need reordering, saved payment details and a quick checkout. A business whose customers already use its web platform may also want an app that uses the same accounts and data, especially when those customers return frequently.
Rules
Payments for a mobile app in the United States
The checkout needs to match what you sell. Apple requires in-app purchase for digital content, features and subscriptions used in the app; Google Play billing is required for digital goods and subscriptions sold there. For physical goods or services used outside the app, we set up a separate card checkout. Stripe supports businesses signing up in the United States, so it is an option for that checkout. Some storefronts or regions allow outside payment options for digital purchases.
How it runs
How an app development project runs with us
We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India is 10h30m ahead of Eastern time in winter and 1 hour less ahead during daylight saving time. The shared board gives you a place to leave feedback between calls, so work can move across the time difference.

Discover
Tell us about your business, audience and goals. We agree the scope with you before moving into design.
- 02
Design
We prepare iOS and Android screen designs and refine them with your feedback before writing code.
- 03
Prototype
Put the clickable design in front of a few customers or staff. Their feedback helps you change screens before they are built.
- 04
Test
Try development builds on your own phone through TestFlight or the Google Play testing tracks, and tell us what you notice in real use.
- 05
Release
We handle the store listings, submission and review under your own developer accounts.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Bring the details that help us agree what the app needs to do.
- First-release tasksList what users must do, in the order they will do it.
- Connected systemsNote your website, CRM, booking or ERP software and payment provider, along with API and admin-access details.
- Developer accountsRegister Apple and Google accounts in the business name; organisation accounts need a D-U-N-S number.
- TestersIf you use a new personal Google Play developer account, plan for its required closed test before production release.
- AccessKeep developer accounts, signing access and the code repository in the business’s name.
Cost & time
What affects app development cost and time
The scope of the app and the systems behind it determine the work.
User types
Customers, drivers and staff need their own screens and permissions, even when they share a backend.
Real-time features
Live tracking, chat and presence need persistent connections and more backend work than screens that load data on request.
User-generated content
Reporting, blocking, filtering and contact details add moderation work to an app where users post content.
Existing systems
A backend with a documented API reduces the work; a new backend and admin panel can be as large a task as the app itself.
Avoid
Mistakes to avoid with your app
Wrapping the website
Give people a reason to install the app. A site repackaged in an app shell risks rejection under Apple’s guidelines.
Blocking access with sign-up
Let people see value before asking them to register. Apple asks apps without significant account-based features to allow use without login.
Asking for notifications too early
Request permission when the benefit is clear, such as after an order. On Android 13 and later, notifications stay off until the user allows them.
Questions
Asked by businesses in Michigan
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to develop an app?
There is no fixed price. The work depends on the app screens, the backend and admin panel, as well as design choices such as custom animation, languages and tablet layouts. Once we have agreed the scope, ask us for a quote so the estimate reflects what you need to build.
How should I choose an app development company?
Ask how the team will design, build and launch the app, and how it will handle both phone platforms. With MSH Technologies, the same team handles design through launch. We use a shared React Native codebase for iOS and Android, with native modules where the app needs them.
Can the app use the same accounts as my website?
Yes. We can build a backend that serves your app, website and admin tools. Plan account deletion as part of that work: Apple requires an in-app way to start deletion, while Google Play also requires an in-app deletion path and a web link for deletion requests.
Who owns the app and store accounts?
You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. We handle store listings, submission and review under your own developer accounts. Keeping those accounts in your business gives you control over the app’s presence in the stores as well as the code behind it.
What happens after the app launches?
Ongoing support covers bug fixes, updates for new iOS and Android versions, and new features. Review retention, drop-off in the main task and the crash-free rate after releases. Plan maintenance releases too: Google Play requires apps and updates to target a recent Android API level.
How can I tell what people do in the app?
Include analytics and crash reporting in the first release. Tools such as Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics or Sentry show which screens people use, where they give up and which devices crash. For a consumer or marketplace product, use that information to see whether people return after installing.
