App development company in Illinois
A mobile app gives your Illinois customers or staff a way to use your service on their phones. We design screens for iOS and Android, build the accounts and data behind them, and handle store submission and release. Based in India, MSH Technologies works with you from design through launch, with the same team handling the work throughout.

Choosing
Should you build a cross-platform app or go native?
For an app built around accounts, forms, bookings, payments or content, a cross-platform build is a practical option. React Native shares most code across iOS and Android while using each platform’s own interface components. Its JavaScript or TypeScript code also gives web developers a way to contribute, and some logic can be shared with a React web app.
We usually choose React Native and add native modules where a feature needs them. An app that needs deep device features calls for a native approach. Flutter is another cross-platform option: it uses Dart and draws its own interface, which suits a heavily branded design that needs to look the same on both platforms. Your team needs to be comfortable working in Dart.
A progressive web app is worth considering for staff tools. It skips store review, though it needs packaging to appear in the stores, and on an iPhone it can ask to send notifications only after someone adds it to the Home Screen.
Local
What Illinois businesses need from an app
Illinois manufacturers with maintenance or inspection teams need staff to capture job details away from the office. An app can bring forms, photos, signatures and location into each job, then sync the records when a connection returns.
In the state’s industrial and agricultural hubs, a team working with unreliable signal needs to decide how much offline work the app must support. Showing the last loaded information is a smaller task than allowing edits offline and resolving conflicts when records sync.
Food manufacturers in the Chicago area that already serve customers through a web platform could give frequent users an app connected to the same accounts and data. That gives customers a phone-based route into a service they already use.
Rules
What a United States app project has to handle
For a state or local government app subject to ADA Title II, we design the mobile screens against WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We include the government’s mobile services in the scope, so the screens people use are part of the accessibility work.
Payment setup follows what the customer buys. Apple requires in-app purchase for digital features and subscriptions used in the app; physical goods and services used outside it need another payment method. US businesses can sign up to accept payments with Stripe, so we can set up a Stripe checkout for eligible physical purchases.
How it runs
How an app project runs with us
We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India is ahead of the mainland US, and the gap changes with daylight saving time. Shared boards keep feedback and decisions visible across that difference.
- 01
Discover
We learn about your business, audience and goals. You tell us what people need to do in the app, and we agree the scope together.
- 02
Design
We prepare iOS and Android screens and refine them with your feedback before writing code. You review the flows and tell us where they need to change.
- 03
Prototype
Put the clickable design in front of a few customers or staff. Their feedback gives you a chance to change screens before they are built, when changes cost less.
- 04
Test
We send builds to your phone through TestFlight or Google Play’s internal or closed testing tracks. You use the app and share feedback from real use.
- 05
Release
We handle the listings, submission and review under your developer accounts. You provide access to those accounts for the store work.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Bring these details to make the scope discussion more useful.
- List the website, CRM, booking, ERP and payment systems the app needs to use; note their APIs and who holds admin access.
- Register Apple and Google developer accounts in your company’s name. Organisation accounts need a D-U-N-S number.
- Prepare a privacy policy matching the data the app collects, for its store listing and an in-app link.
- Check the closed-testing requirement if you plan to use a new personal Google Play developer account.
- If users can create accounts, plan an in-app way to start account deletion for Apple.
- For Google Play, plan an in-app deletion path and a web link for deletion requests.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and work involved
The scope determines how much design, building and testing the project needs.
User roles
Customers, drivers and staff each need their own screens and permissions, even when they share a backend.
Connections
Each payment gateway, map, CRM or device integration needs setup, testing and failure handling.
Screen variations
Custom animation, extra languages and tablet layouts add design and testing across screens.
User content
Posts or other user-generated content need moderation, including reporting and blocking tools.
Existing systems
A documented backend API reduces the work; a new backend and admin panel add substantial scope.
Avoid
Mistakes to avoid with mobile app development
Wrapping a website in an app shell
Give people a reason to install it. Apple’s guidelines call for more than a repackaged site.
Requesting notification permission immediately
Ask when the benefit is clear, such as after an order. On Android 13 and later, notifications stay off until the user allows them.
Adding an analytics or advertising SDK without revisiting privacy answers: Update Google Play’s Data safety form to cover data collected by third-party SDKs.
Leaving access in an agency’s name
Keep developer accounts, signing access and code repositories in your business’s name so the app is easier to move.

Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to have an app developed?
There is no fixed price. The work depends on the app’s screens, the backend and admin tools, and features such as payments, subscriptions or notifications. An admin panel also needs to support staff tasks such as finding customers and issuing refunds. Discuss a quote with us once the scope is agreed.
How do I choose an app development company?
Ask each company to explain its proposed technology against the features you need. We usually use React Native for a shared iOS and Android codebase, and choose native development when deep device features call for it. Ask for that reasoning before agreeing the scope.
What is included beyond the app screens?
The work can include a shared backend and tools for understanding app use. We can connect the app, website and admin tools to the same accounts and data. For the first release, analytics and crash reporting show which screens people use, where they leave and which devices crash.
Who owns the app and its store accounts?
You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. Store listings and submission are handled under your own developer accounts. That gives your business control of the assets and accounts it needs to continue working on the product with the people you choose.
What support does an app need after launch?
Plan regular maintenance releases to keep the app available to new users on newer Android devices. Google Play requires apps and updates to target a recent Android API level. For some JavaScript and content fixes, an over-the-air update is an option; native changes and new permissions still need a store release.
How should I judge whether people are using the app?
Look at retention and the main task people came to complete. Check how many users return after installing and where they drop out of that task. The crash-free rate also helps you see whether a release improved or hurt stability, giving you a basis for deciding what to fix.
