Choosing
Should you build a cross-platform or native app?
For most apps, we use React Native: a shared codebase for iOS and Android that renders each platform’s own interface components. It is written in JavaScript or TypeScript, so web developers can contribute, and some logic can be shared with a React website. When your app depends on deep device features, we choose native development instead. The choice affects how much code the platforms can share.
Flutter is another cross-platform option. It uses Dart and draws its own interface, making it suitable when you want a heavily branded design that looks the same on both platforms. That consistency comes with a practical consideration: the people maintaining the product need to be willing to work in Dart.
A progressive web app is worth considering for a staff tool. It skips store review, but it will not appear in app stores unless packaged for them. On an iPhone, it can ask to send notifications only after someone adds it to the Home Screen. Start with where people need to find and use the tool, then weigh that against the work of a store release.
Local
What Georgia businesses need from an app
Atlanta has service businesses alongside finance, technology and logistics activity. For a restaurant serving repeat customers, an app brief could centre on reordering, saved payment details and loyalty. We would map the checkout flow and decide when a notification is useful, so customers can get back to the order they came to place.
Farms across middle and south Georgia produce peanuts, corn and soybeans. For a farm considering a staff app, access without a signal is a useful scope question: showing the last loaded information is a smaller job than allowing records to be edited offline and synced later. The latter also needs a way to handle conflicting changes.
Rules
What a mobile app project in the United States has to handle
For state and local government apps, the US accessibility rule calls for WCAG 2.1 Level AA. If you are commissioning an app for one of those organisations, we design its screens against that standard and include the accessibility requirements in the build brief.
Payment setup follows what you sell. Digital features and subscriptions used in an app generally need in-app purchase on Apple; physical goods and services used outside the app need another payment method. We set up purchases or subscriptions on the stores, or a card gateway for physical sales. Stripe supports businesses signing up in the United States.
How it runs
How an app project runs with us
We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. IST is 10h30m ahead of Eastern time in winter and 1 hour less during daylight saving time. The shared board gives you a place to leave feedback and see what is in progress across that difference.

Discover
We learn about your business, audience and goals. You tell us what people need to accomplish, and we agree the scope together before moving into design.
- 02
Design
We prepare screens for iOS and Android and refine them with your feedback before writing code. You can review the flow while changes are still straightforward.
- 03
Prototype review
Put the clickable prototype in front of a few customers or staff. Their observations help you identify confusing screens before those screens are built.
- 04
Test on your phone
We share test builds through TestFlight or Google Play’s testing tracks. You can try the app in real use and send feedback.
- 05
Store launch
We prepare the App Store and Google Play listings, submit the app and handle its release. You review the listing information as part of the launch work.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Bring details of the systems the app must connect to, including their APIs and who holds admin access.
- List what users must do in the first release, in the order they will do it.
- Plan to register Apple and Google developer accounts in your company’s name; organisation accounts need a D-U-N-S number.
- For a new personal Google Play account, identify people who can take part in the required closed test.
- Keep account, signing and code repository access in your business’s name so the app remains movable.
- If the app has a login, plan a working demo account and live backend for Apple’s submission review.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and time of app development
An existing backend with a documented API can reduce the work; creating a backend and admin panel from scratch adds a substantial part of the project.
Integrations
A payment gateway, booking system or hardware connection each needs setup, testing and handling for failures.
Live features
Tracking, chat and presence need persistent connections and more backend work than screens that load data on request.
Screen design
Custom animation, extra languages and tablet layouts add design and testing work across the app.
User-generated content
Moderation needs filtering, reporting and blocking tools, plus published contact details for the app.
Avoid
Mistakes to avoid when building an app
Putting sign-up before the useful part
Let people explore without logging in when the app has no significant account-based features. Decide where an account is actually needed in the flow.
Asking for notification permission immediately
Wait until the benefit is clear, such as after an order. On Android 13 and later, notifications stay off until the user allows them.
Adding a tracking SDK without revisiting privacy answers
Check the data collected by third-party SDKs against the Google Play Data safety form whenever the app’s tools change.
Questions
Asked by businesses in Georgia
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to develop an app?
There is no fixed price. The work depends on what the phone app must do, what staff need in an admin panel and how much platform-specific development the product needs. A native approach uses separate iPhone and Android codebases. Agree the scope before requesting a quote.
How do I choose an app development company?
Compare how each company handles publication, access and measurement. Ask who will submit the app and whose developer accounts will hold it; we handle listings, submission and review under your own accounts. Also ask how the team will measure people returning and dropping out of the main task.
Can the app share accounts and data with my website?
Yes. We can build one backend serving your app, website and admin tools, keeping customer accounts and data in one place. Include analytics and crash reporting in the first release as well: tools such as Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics show screen use, drop-off and device crashes.
Will I own the app’s code?
Yes. You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. Ask for those ownership terms to be clear before work starts, and keep a record of what your business owns alongside the accounts and access needed to operate the product after launch.
What support does an app need after launch?
Plan for bug fixes, operating-system updates and new features after release. Some JavaScript and content fixes can go out through an over-the-air tool such as Expo EAS Update, while native code changes and new permissions still need a store release. Google Play also requires apps to target a recent Android API level.
Does an app need an account deletion option?
If people can create accounts, plan deletion into the app. Apple requires a way to start deleting an account inside the app; disabling it alone is not enough. Google Play also requires an in-app deletion path and a web link where people can request deletion of the account and associated data.
