What you get

What’s included in mobile app development

  • App design

Screens and flows designed for iOS and Android conventions.

  • Cross-platform build

One React Native codebase for both platforms, with native modules where needed.

  • Backend & APIs

Accounts, data, notifications and admin tools behind the app.

  • Push notifications

Timely, targeted notifications that bring people back.

  • Payments & subscriptions

In-app purchases and subscriptions on both stores.

  • Store launch

App Store and Google Play listings, submission and release.

Tools we use: React Native, Expo, Swift, Kotlin, Firebase, Node.js.

Choosing

Should you choose cross-platform or native development?

React Native shares most of the code between iOS and Android while using each platform’s own interface components. It is a practical fit for an app centred on accounts, forms, lists, maps, bookings, payments or content. It uses JavaScript or TypeScript, so web developers can contribute, and some logic can be shared with a React web app.

We generally recommend React Native for most apps. Native development in Swift for iPhone and Kotlin for Android fits work that depends on deep device features, heavy graphics, complex background tasks or new platform features at launch. The trade-off is maintaining separate codebases for the platforms, with the extra build work that entails.

Flutter is another cross-platform option. It uses Dart and draws its own interface, which suits a heavily branded design when your team wants screens to look identical across platforms and is willing to work in Dart. We start by learning about your business, audience and goals, then agree the scope with you before design begins.

Local

What Delaware organisations need from an app

Agricultural businesses working with poultry, nursery stock, dairy products or crops may have staff recording work away from an office. For a field team, the useful app features are forms, photos, signatures and a location for each job, with records synced back when a connection returns. Agreeing what staff need to record is a practical starting point for the screen design.

Chemical, pharmaceutical and technology companies are among the state’s largest employers. If customers already use a company’s web platform frequently, an app can reuse their accounts and data. Staff also need a way to edit content, look up customers or block abusive accounts; an admin panel gives them those controls without calling a developer for each change.

Rules

What a US app project needs to handle

Checkout design follows what you sell. Apple and Google Play require their in-app payment systems for digital content, features or subscriptions used in the app, with some storefront or regional alternatives. Physical goods and services used outside the app need another payment method. We set up in-app purchases and subscriptions on both stores; for a physical-goods checkout, a card gateway is the route to plan. US businesses can sign up for Stripe to accept payments.

How it runs

How an app project runs with us

We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India is 10h30m ahead of Eastern time in winter, with a 1 hour smaller gap during daylight saving time. The shared board gives you a place to leave feedback as work moves across that gap.

  1. 01

    Design

We design the iOS and Android screens and refine them with your feedback before writing code. You review the screens and tell us where the flow needs to change.

  2. 02

    Prototype

Put the clickable design in front of a few customers or staff and watch how they use it. Their feedback helps you change a screen before it has been built.

  3. 03

    Test builds

During development, you use the app on your own phone through TestFlight on iPhone or Google Play’s internal or closed testing tracks. Give feedback from real use.

  4. 04

    Store submission

We handle the listings, submission and review under your own developer accounts. You keep those accounts in your business’s control while we prepare the app for release.

Checklist

What to have ready before we talk

Bring the details that will help us define the first release and its connections.

  • List the actions users must complete, in the order they will do them.
  • Note the website, CRM, booking software or payment provider involved, plus API availability and who holds admin access.
  • Start the Apple and Google developer accounts in your company’s name; organisation accounts need a D-U-N-S number.
  • For a new personal Google Play account, plan for the required closed test before production release.
  • If your app has a login, prepare a working demo account and live backend for Apple’s submission review.

Cost & time

What affects the cost and time of app development

The work grows with the behaviour each screen and backend must support.

  • Offline editing

Showing previously loaded data is more modest work than creating and editing records offline, then resolving conflicts when they sync.

  • Live features

Tracking, chat and presence need persistent connections and more backend work than screens that request data when opened.

  • Interface variations

Custom animation, additional languages, right-to-left scripts and tablet layouts add design and testing across screens.

  • User content

If people post content, moderation needs include filtering, reporting, blocking abusive users and publishing contact details.

Avoid

Mistakes to avoid with app development

  • Wrapping a website in an app shell

Apple expects more than a repackaged site. Define a useful app experience before submitting it.

  • Leaving accounts and repositories in an agency’s name

Keep developer accounts, signing access and the code repository in your business’s name so the app is easier to move.

  • Adding an analytics or advertising SDK without revisiting privacy answers: Update Google Play’s Data safety form to cover data collected by third-party SDKs.

Questions

Asked by businesses in Delaware

Page updated 5 November 2026

How much does it cost to develop an app?

There is no fixed price. The number of user types and their permissions affect the scope, as does the state of your backend: a documented API reduces the work, while a new backend and admin panel can be as large a task as the app. We send a free quote once the scope is agreed.

How should you choose an app development company?

Ask how the team will measure use and diagnose problems after release. Analytics and crash reporting belong in the first version, so you can see which screens people use, where they give up and which devices crash. Ask which of those signals will be available to your team.

Can an app use the same backend as your website?

Yes. We build a backend that serves your app, website and admin tools. If the app also lets people create accounts, both stores require an in-app way to start account deletion. Google Play additionally requires a web link for deletion requests covering the account and its associated data.

How should push notifications be planned?

Plan the permission request around a clear benefit to the user, such as an order update. Asking at first launch can waste the request, and on Android 13 and later notifications stay off until the user allows them. We build targeted push notifications into the app.

Who owns the app and its store accounts?

You own your code, content and domain without lock-in. Store listings, submission and review are handled under your own developer accounts, so those accounts remain yours. Agreeing ownership and account access before work begins gives your business control of the product after release.

What support is available after launch?

Ongoing support covers bug fixes, updates for new iOS and Android versions, and new features. Some JavaScript and content fixes can be shipped over the air; native code changes, new permissions and Expo SDK upgrades still need a store release. Review retention, task drop-off and crash-free rate after releases.
