Choosing
Should you choose cross-platform or native development?
A cross-platform app is a good fit when the main tasks involve accounts, forms, lists, maps, bookings, payments or content. Frameworks such as React Native share most of the code between iOS and Android, so the team has less separate platform code to build and maintain. That is useful when you want to cover both stores while keeping the product centred on a common set of tasks.
We usually use React Native, adding native modules where a feature needs them. It uses JavaScript or TypeScript and renders each platform’s own interface components; web developers can contribute, and some logic can be shared with a React website. This gives you a practical route to supporting both platforms without treating every screen as a separate build.
Native development fits apps built around deep device features, heavy graphics, complex background work or new platform features needed at launch. The trade-off is more code to maintain: Swift for iPhone and Kotlin for Android. We choose that route when the device features make it worthwhile.
Local
What Connecticut organisations need from an app
Financial, insurance and real estate firms are concentrated in Hartford and along Fairfield County’s Gold Coast. For a firm offering appointments through an app, a useful scope could include booking, reminders and payments, plus a staff view of the day’s schedule. Agreeing those screens early helps you decide what customers and staff each need to do.
Connecticut is also home to Yale University in New Haven and other institutions in and around the Knowledge Corridor. An institution planning a consumer or marketplace app needs to consider coverage across both stores and analytics that show whether people return. Those choices give its team a way to assess use after release.
Manufacturing remains part of the state’s business picture. For a manufacturer’s maintenance or inspection team, an app can collect offline forms, photos, signatures and job locations, then sync them to the office when signal returns.
Rules
What a United States app project has to handle
For a state or local government app, we set up screen designs and testing against WCAG 2.1 Level AA. The federal accessibility rule covers those organisations’ mobile apps, so the requirement belongs in the work from the start. When you agree the scope with us, identify the public service the app will support and include the app screens in the accessibility testing work.
How it runs
How an app project runs with us
We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India is 10h30m ahead of Eastern time in winter, and 1 hour less ahead during daylight saving time. The shared board keeps feedback and decisions visible across that difference.

Discover
We learn about your business, audience and goals, then agree the scope with you. Bring the main task you want people to complete.
- 02
Design
We prepare iOS and Android screen designs and refine them with your feedback before writing code. Check that the flows match how your customers and staff work.
- 03
Prototype
Put the clickable design in front of a few customers or staff. Their feedback gives us a chance to change screens before they are built.
- 04
Build and test
Try development builds on your own phone through TestFlight for iPhone or a Google Play testing track for Android. Tell us what happens in real use.
- 05
Submit
We handle store listings, submission and review under your developer accounts. You retain access to those accounts.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Gather these details so we can discuss the app and its release requirements.
- Developer accountsStart registration in your company’s name and check the D-U-N-S requirement for organisation accounts.
- Existing systemsList your website, CRM, booking or payment systems, their APIs and who holds admin access.
- Privacy policyHave a policy that matches the data the app will collect.
- Google Play accountCheck the closed-testing requirement if you have a new personal developer account.
- Login accessPlan a working demo account and live backend for Apple’s review.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and delivery work
The scope determines how much design, backend work and testing the app needs.
User roles
Customers, drivers and staff each need their own screens and permissions, even when they share a backend.
Live features
Tracking or chat needs persistent connections and more backend work than screens that load data on request.
Integrations
Each connection to a payment gateway, map, CRM, booking system or device needs setup, testing and failure handling.
User content
Posts from users bring moderation work, including reporting, blocking and filtering objectionable material.
Avoid
Mistakes to avoid with app development
Wrapping a website
Apple expects an app to offer more than a repackaged site. Plan a useful phone experience before submitting it.
Asking for notifications too early
Request permission when the benefit is clear, such as after an order. On Android 13 and later, notifications stay off until the user allows them.
Adding an SDK without updating privacy information
Check the data collected by analytics or advertising SDKs against the Google Play Data safety answers before release.
Questions

How much does it cost to develop an app?
There is no fixed price: the work depends on the scope. A heavily branded interface, custom animation, additional languages or tablet layouts add design and testing across screens. In-app purchases and subscriptions add purchase setup on the stores. Agree those requirements before requesting a quote, so it reflects what you need to build.
How should you choose an app development company?
Choose a team that can explain how the app will work with your existing systems and how you will assess it after release. We build a shared backend for an app, website and admin tools. Analytics and crash reporting in the first release show which screens people use, where they leave and which devices crash.
What is included beyond the app screens?
Plan for the phone app, a backend and an admin panel. The backend stores accounts and data; the panel gives staff a place to edit content, look up customers, issue refunds and block abusive accounts. If people create accounts, the build also needs the account-deletion paths required by both stores.
How are payments handled in an app?
The payment route depends on what you sell. Apple requires in-app purchase for digital content, features and subscriptions used in the app; physical goods and services used outside it need another method. Google Play billing applies to digital goods and subscriptions, and must not be used for physical goods or services.
Who owns the app code and accounts?
You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. Keep developer accounts, signing access and code repositories in your business’s name too. When those assets sit in an agency’s or freelancer’s name, moving the app later becomes harder, so establish access as part of the project setup.
What support does an app need after launch?
Plan for bug fixes, updates for new iOS and Android versions, and new features. Google Play also requires apps and updates to target a recent Android API level, making maintenance releases part of ongoing work. Review retention, drop-off in the main task and crash-free rate to see how releases are working.
