Choosing

Should you choose cross-platform, native or a web app?

For an app built around accounts, forms, bookings or payments, a cross-platform build is often a practical choice. We usually use React Native, sharing a codebase across iOS and Android and adding native modules where a feature needs them. We go native when the app needs deep device features. The choice affects how much platform-specific work the build needs and what the app can do with the device.

Flutter is another cross-platform option. It uses Dart and draws its own interface, which suits a heavily branded app where screens should look identical across platforms. Your team needs to be willing to work in Dart. A progressive web app is another option for a staff tool: it skips store review, but it needs packaging to appear in app stores. On iPhone, it can request notification permission only after someone adds it to the Home Screen. Decide where staff or customers need to find and use the product before settling on the technology.

Local

What Bengaluru organisations need from an app

Bengaluru has IT and food processing sectors. For an IT business whose customers already use a web platform frequently, an app can reuse their accounts and data through the existing backend. A local shop or restaurant serving repeat customers has a different brief: make reordering and checkout quick, keep payment details available and send notifications at a useful point.

The city also has higher-education institutions. An organisation with a web service and an app can use a shared backend for both, alongside its admin tools, so accounts and data stay in one place. That gives staff a common source to work with when people move between the website and the app.

Rules

What an app project in India has to handle

For physical goods or services, your checkout needs a payment method outside Apple’s in-app purchase system. UPI supports person-to-merchant payments in India, so we can set up a UPI checkout for those purchases. Digital content, features and subscriptions used inside an iOS app follow Apple’s in-app purchase requirements. We separate those purchases in the checkout design and set up the appropriate payment route for each.

How it runs

How a mobile app project runs with us

We work remotely from India, using video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. You can review the work and give feedback without needing to meet us in person.

  1. 01

    Discover

We learn about your business, audience and goals. You explain who will use the app and what they need to do; we agree the scope with you before moving into design.

  2. 02

    Design

We put a clickable prototype in front of you. Ask customers or staff to try it and show you where they hesitate, so screens can be changed before they are built.

  3. 03

    Build and test

We share test builds on your phone through TestFlight on iPhone or Google Play’s testing tracks. Try the flows in use and tell us what needs attention.

  4. 04

    Prepare for review

If the app has a login, have a working demo account and live backend ready. Leave room in the launch plan for a fix and resubmission if needed.

  5. 05

    Submit

We handle the store listings, submission and review under your own developer accounts. You keep those accounts in your business’s control.

Checklist

What to have ready before we talk

Bring the details you have; the first discussion can focus on the gaps.

  • List what users need to do in the first release, in the order they would do it.
  • Note the website, CRM, booking system or payment provider involved, their APIs and who holds admin access.
  • Start registering Apple and Google developer accounts in your company’s name; organisation accounts need a D-U-N-S number.
  • Prepare a privacy policy that matches the data the app collects, for the listing and the app itself.
  • Decide whether people need to create accounts; if they do, the iOS app must let them start account deletion inside it.

Cost & time

What affects the cost and timeline?

The work changes with the systems and features you need to support.

  • Backend

An existing backend with a documented API reduces the work; building a backend and admin panel from scratch adds a substantial part of the project.

  • Live features

Tracking, chat and presence need persistent connections and more backend work than screens that load data on request.

  • Screen variations

Custom animation, extra languages, right-to-left scripts and tablet layouts add design and testing across screens.

  • Notifications

A sending service, audience rules and in-app category settings all need to be set up and checked.

Avoid

Mistakes to avoid with mobile app development

  • Wrapping a website in an app shell

Apple expects more than a repackaged site. Plan useful app features before submitting.

  • Asking for notification permission immediately

Ask when the benefit is clear, such as after an order. On Android 13 and later, notifications stay off until the user allows them.

  • Adding an analytics or advertising SDK without updating privacy answers: Check the data it collects and include it in Google Play’s Data safety form.

Questions

Asked by businesses in Bengaluru

Page updated 5 November 2026

How much does it cost to develop an app?

There is no fixed price. The main drivers include the number of user roles, the depth of offline editing and sync, and integrations such as payment gateways or booking systems. Each role needs its own screens and permissions, while integrations need testing and failure handling. We send a free quote once the scope is agreed.

Which app development company should I hire?

Choose a company that explains what it will build and how you retain control of the release. Ask who handles the store listings, submission and review, and which developer accounts will be used. We handle those steps under your own accounts, so the publishing setup remains connected to your business.

What should be included in the first release?

Include the flows people need to use the app, plus analytics and crash reporting. We recommend tools such as Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics or Sentry from the first release. They show which screens people use, where they give up and which devices crash, giving you evidence for the work that follows.

Will I own the app and its code?

You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. Keep developer accounts, signing access and code repositories in your business’s name as well. When those are held in an agency’s or freelancer’s name, moving the app later becomes harder, even if you have a copy of the code.

What happens after the app launches?

Launch is followed by ongoing support for bug fixes, operating-system updates and new features. Plan maintenance releases: Google Play requires new apps and updates to target a recent Android API level, and an out-of-date app can become unavailable to new users on newer devices. Some JavaScript and content fixes can be sent over the air; native changes still need a store release.

Can the app sell subscriptions?

Yes. We set up in-app purchases and subscriptions on both stores. For digital goods and subscriptions sold inside an Android app, Google Play billing is required, although some regions allow alternative billing. Physical goods and services such as groceries or transport must use a different payment method.
