Mobile app developers for Regina businesses

A mobile app gives your customers or staff a way to complete useful tasks on their phones. For your Regina business, we can design the screens, build the accounts and backend, and handle submission to the app stores. At MSH Technologies, we are a web, app and AI studio in India; we work with you remotely from discovery through launch.

What you get

What’s included in mobile app development

  • App design

Screens and flows designed for iOS and Android conventions.

  • Cross-platform build

One React Native codebase for both platforms, with native modules where needed.

  • Backend & APIs

Accounts, data, notifications and admin tools behind the app.

  • Push notifications

Timely, targeted notifications that bring people back.

  • Payments & subscriptions

In-app purchases and subscriptions on both stores.

  • Store launch

App Store and Google Play listings, submission and release.

Tools we use: React Native, Expo, Swift, Kotlin, Firebase, Node.js.

Choosing

Should you choose cross-platform or native development?

Cross-platform development is a good fit for apps built around accounts, forms, bookings, payments or content. We usually use React Native, sharing a codebase across iOS and Android and adding native modules where a feature needs them. It uses JavaScript or TypeScript and renders each platform’s own interface components, so web developers can contribute and some logic can be shared with a React web app.

Flutter is another cross-platform option. It uses Dart and draws its own interface, which suits a custom-designed app that needs screens to look identical across platforms. The trade-off is that your team needs to be comfortable working in Dart. Ask who will maintain the code as well as who will build the first release.

Native development fits an app built around deep device features, heavy graphics or complex background work. Swift is used for iPhone and Kotlin for Android, so you have separate codebases to build and maintain. That extra work can be worthwhile when the device feature is central to the product.

Local

What Regina organisations need from an app

The warehouse district is a focus for shopping. For a shop there with repeat customers, an app could put reordering, loyalty and saved payment details close to hand. A fast checkout and notifications sent at a useful moment support those tasks.

Regina is home to Saskatchewan government organisations. A field team carrying out inspections or maintenance needs job forms, photos, signatures and location details available on the phone, with records sent back to the office when a connection returns.

Organisations at the university campuses in Wascana Centre may already have people using a web platform frequently. An app built around those existing accounts and data gives users access on their phones without creating a separate backend for the same information.

Rules

What an app project in Canada has to handle

PIPEDA sets federal rules for how private-sector organisations collect, use and disclose personal information in commercial activity. We set up account screens that explain what information you collect and how it is used or disclosed, alongside the account data held in the backend. Agree those details before the screens are built.

Payment setup follows what you sell. Apple requires in-app purchase for digital content, features and subscriptions used in the app; physical goods and services used outside it need another payment method. Stripe lists Canada as a country where businesses can sign up, so we can set up a card checkout for the appropriate purchase flow.

How it runs

How an app project runs with us

We work remotely through video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India is 11h30m ahead of Saskatchewan, so the shared board gives both sides a place to leave decisions and feedback for the other team to pick up.

  1. 01

    Discover and design

We learn about your business, audience and goals, agree the scope with you, then refine screen designs with your feedback before coding.

  2. 02

    Prototype

Put the clickable screens in front of customers or staff and tell us where they hesitate. Changes are cheaper at this stage than after build.

  3. 03

    Test

We send builds to your phone through TestFlight or the Google Play testing tracks, so you can give feedback from real use.

  4. 04

    Prepare submission

If your app has a login, have a working demo account and live backend ready for Apple’s review. Leave room to fix and resubmit an incomplete or crashing build.

  5. 05

    Release

We handle the store listings, submission and review under your own developer accounts. You retain control of those accounts.

Checklist

What to have ready before we talk

Bring the details below to make the first scope discussion useful.

  • List the tasks users must complete in the first release, in the order they will do them.
  • Register Apple and Google developer accounts in your company’s name; organisation accounts need a D-U-N-S number for verification.
  • If you plan to use a new personal Google Play account, allow for its closed-testing requirement before production release.
  • Note the website, booking, CRM or payment systems involved, whether each has an API and who holds admin access.
  • Keep developer accounts, signing access and code repositories in your business’s name so the app remains movable.

Cost & time

What affects the cost and timeline of development

The scope changes both the work to build the app and the work to test it.

  • User roles

Customers, drivers and staff each need their own screens and permissions, even when they share a backend.

  • Integrations

A payment gateway, booking system or scanner adds setup, testing and failure handling.

  • Live features

Tracking, chat and presence need persistent connections and more backend work than screens that load data on request.

  • User-generated content

Moderation needs filtering, reporting, blocking and published contact details under Apple’s requirements.

Questions

Asked by businesses in Regina

Page updated 5 November 2026

How much does it cost to develop an app?

There is no fixed price. Offline editing and conflict handling add more work than showing last-loaded data, while a new backend and admin panel can be as substantial as the app itself. An existing backend with a documented API reduces that work. We agree the scope with you before discussing a quote.

How should I choose an app development company?

Choose a team that can explain what the app lets people do and how it will be maintained. Ask for a plan for the first release and for a reason people would install it. Apple’s guidelines expect more than a repackaged website, so a site wrapped in an app shell risks rejection.

Can the app use the same data as my website?

Yes. We can build a shared backend for your app, website and admin tools. Customer accounts and data then live in one place. Before scoping that work, check which systems already hold the information your users need and who can give the project access to them.

Who owns the app after it is built?

You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. Store submission is handled under your own developer accounts, so ask for those accounts to be set up in your business’s name before release. That gives you control over the product if you later change who maintains it.

What support is available after launch?

Ongoing support covers bug fixes, updates for new iOS and Android versions, and new features. We can also look at retention, where users leave the main task and the crash-free rate to assess a release. Some JavaScript and content fixes can go out over the air; native changes still need a store release.
