Choosing
Should you choose cross-platform or native development?
For an app centred on accounts, bookings, payments or content, a cross-platform build is a practical starting point. We usually use React Native, sharing one codebase across iOS and Android and adding native modules when a feature needs them. That gives you less platform-specific code to maintain, while still leaving room for features that need a closer connection to the device.
Native development fits a different brief. An app built around heavy graphics, complex background work, deep device features or new platform capabilities at launch may need separate Swift and Kotlin codebases. That gives the build direct access to each platform, with the trade-off that both codebases need development and maintenance. The features you need on the phone, and the flexibility you need later, are the useful points to compare when choosing an approach.
Local
What Mississauga organisations need from an app
Mississauga has businesses in pharmaceuticals, banking and finance, electronics and transportation equipment. If your staff carry out delivery, maintenance or inspection work, an app brief might include job forms, photos and signatures on the phone, with records synced to the office when signal returns. Agreeing which records staff need at each job gives the screen design a practical starting point.
City Centre is a central business district. An appointment business serving customers there needs a clear route from selecting a booking to paying and receiving a reminder. Staff also need a view of the day's schedule. Include that staff view in the brief, so the customer booking flow and the work behind it are considered together.
Rules
What a mobile app project in Canada has to handle
For a private-sector app collecting personal information in commercial activity, Canada's federal privacy rules cover its collection, use and disclosure. We design the account and data flows around what your app collects and how you intend to use it, so those decisions are part of the build scope.
Checkout needs the right payment route. Apple requires in-app purchase for digital content and subscriptions used in the app; physical goods and services used outside it need another route, such as a card gateway. Stripe accepts sign-ups from businesses in Canada, and we set up the checkout and subscription flows your product needs.
How it runs
How an app project runs with us
We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and a shared project board, and you speak directly to the people designing and building your app. India is ahead of Canadian time zones, while Eastern Time changes with daylight saving. We use the board to keep work and feedback moving across the difference.
- 01
Discover
tell us about your business, audience and goals. We agree the scope with you before moving into design.
- 02
Design
review the iOS and Android screens and give us feedback. We refine them before writing code.
- 03
Prototype
put the clickable design in front of a few customers or staff. Their feedback helps you change screens while changes are less expensive than they would be after the build.
- 04
Test
use builds on your own phone through TestFlight or a Google Play testing track. Send feedback from using the app, not only from reviewing the designs.
- 05
Release
provide access to your developer accounts. We handle the store listings, submission and review under those accounts.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Bring the following to make the first discussion useful.
- A short list of what users must do in the first release, in the order they will do it.
- Your website, booking, CRM or payment systems, plus details of their APIs and who holds admin access.
- A privacy policy that matches the information the app collects; Apple requires a link in the listing and the app.
- Your Google Play account type. New personal developer accounts need a closed test before production release.
- Your account deletion flow. Apple requires people who create an account to be able to start deleting it inside the app.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline
The work changes with the flows and capabilities in your scope.
User roles
customers, drivers and staff each need their own screens and permissions, even when they share a backend.
Offline work
showing previously loaded data is more modest than creating and editing records offline, then resolving conflicts during sync.
Screen design
custom animation, additional languages, right-to-left scripts and tablet layouts add design and testing across screens.
User content
apps with user-generated material need filtering, reporting, blocking and published contact details under Apple's requirements.
Questions
Asked by businesses in Mississauga
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to develop an app?
There is no fixed price: the scope determines the work. A documented existing API reduces the backend work, while a new backend and admin panel add substantial work. Live tracking or chat also need persistent connections and more backend work than screens that load data on request.
How do I choose an app development company?
Choose a team that will discuss the product with you and explain what people will do in the app. You can speak directly to the people who design and build with us. Ask about the installable product too: Apple expects more than an existing website wrapped in an app shell.
What is included beyond the app screens?
An app project also needs a backend and an admin panel. The backend holds accounts and data; the admin panel gives staff a place to edit content, look up customers, issue refunds or block abusive accounts. We can build one backend for your app, website and admin tools.
Will I own the app code?
Yes. You own your code, content and domain without lock-in. Keep the code repository and signing access in your business's name as well. That gives you the access you need if you decide to move the app to another development team later.
What happens after the app launches?
We provide ongoing support for bug fixes, operating system updates and new features. JavaScript and content fixes can sometimes be sent through an over-the-air update; native code changes and new permissions still need a store release. Review retention, task drop-off and crash-free rate to see how the app is performing.
