From our studio in India, we work with Oakville clients remotely. At MSH Technologies, the same team handles your design, development and launch.

Choosing
Should you build a cross-platform app or go native?
A cross-platform app is a practical choice when your product centres on accounts, bookings, forms, payments or content. React Native shares a codebase across iOS and Android while using each platform’s own interface components. Web developers can contribute, and some logic can be shared with a React website. We use React Native for most apps and go native when deep device features call for it.
Flutter is another cross-platform option. It uses Dart and draws its own interface, which suits a heavily branded design that needs to look the same on both platforms. Your team would need to be comfortable working in Dart. For a staff tool, a progressive web app is worth considering: it skips store review, though it will not appear in the stores unless packaged for them. On an iPhone, it can ask to send notifications only after someone adds it to the Home Screen.
Local
What Oakville organisations need from an app
Oakville is the seat of Halton Region. An organisation here that handles appointments needs more than a booking screen: people need reminders and a way to pay, while staff need a view of the day’s schedule. Those staff tasks should be part of the scope from the outset, so the app and its administration tools support the same service.
Sheridan College’s Trafalgar Campus is also in Oakville. For a college considering an app for people who frequently use an existing web platform, the app can share accounts and data with that platform. An admin panel gives staff a place to edit content and look up users, instead of calling a developer for each routine change.
Rules
What a Canadian app project has to handle
PIPEDA sets federal rules for private-sector collection, use and disclosure of personal information in commercial activity. For the build, we link a privacy policy inside the app and in its Apple store listing; the policy needs to reflect what the app actually collects.
Checkout needs to match what you sell. For digital features or subscriptions used in the app, we set up the applicable store billing. For physical goods or services, we plan a separate payment route; Stripe supports businesses signing up in Canada. Some storefronts or regions allow alternative options.
How it runs
How your app project runs with us
We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and a shared project board. India is ahead of Canada, and Eastern Time moves 1 hour closer during daylight saving time. The shared board gives you a place to leave feedback across the time difference.

Design
We design screens and flows for iOS and Android. You review them and give feedback before any code is written, while changes are still part of the design work.
- 02
Prototype
Put the clickable design in front of a few customers or staff. Their feedback helps identify screen changes before the app is built.
- 03
Test
We send builds to your phone through TestFlight or Google Play testing tracks. You can try the app in real use and tell us where the experience needs work.
- 04
Prepare for review
If your app has a login, have a working demo account and live backend ready for Apple. Leave room in the launch plan for fixes and resubmission.
- 05
Release
We handle the App Store and Google Play listings, submission and release. You can review the listing details as part of preparing the app for its users.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Bring these details to make the scope discussion more useful.
- Write down the tasks users must complete in the first release, in the order they will do them.
- List your website, CRM, booking system and payment provider, including available APIs and who holds admin access.
- Start registering developer accounts in your company’s name; organisation accounts need a D-U-N-S number.
- Note any analytics or advertising SDKs planned for the app, so store privacy answers cover their data collection.
- Decide which screens and drop-off points you want to measure, and include analytics and crash reporting in the first release.
Cost & time
What affects app development cost and time
The scope of the work determines the effort involved.
Integrations
A payment gateway, booking system or scanner needs setup, testing and handling for failures.
Interface
Custom animation, extra languages and tablet layouts add design and testing across screens.
User content
Posts and other contributions need filtering, reporting, user blocking and published contact details for Apple’s requirements.
Offline work
Showing previously loaded data is more modest than allowing offline edits that must sync later and resolve conflicts.
Questions
Asked by businesses in Oakville
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to develop an app?
There is no fixed price. The biggest drivers include whether you need a new backend and admin panel, and whether features such as live tracking or chat need persistent connections. An existing backend with a documented API reduces the work. We send a free quote once the scope is agreed.
How should I choose an app development company?
Choose a team that can explain its platform choice and how your first release will work. Ask how it handles sign-up: an app without significant account-based features should let people use it without logging in. Also ask how notifications will be requested, so the permission prompt appears when its benefit is clear.
What happens if my app lets people create accounts?
The app needs a route for people to start deleting their accounts. Apple does not accept deactivation alone. Google Play also requires an in-app path to delete the account and associated data, plus a web link where people can request deletion. Plan those screens and the web link as part of the account flow.
Will I own the app and its accounts?
You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. We handle store listings, submission and review under your own developer accounts. That gives you ownership of the product assets while keeping the accounts used for publication in your hands.
What support does an app need after launch?
Plan for bug fixes, updates for new iOS and Android versions, and features your users need. Google Play also requires apps and updates to target a recent Android API level. Watch retention, task drop-off and the crash-free rate to see how people use each release and where it needs attention.
