Choosing
Should you choose cross-platform, native or a web app?
We usually build with React Native, using a shared codebase for iOS and Android and adding native modules when a feature needs them. It uses JavaScript or TypeScript and renders each platform’s own interface components. If you have a React web app, some logic can be shared. We choose a native build when the app needs deep device features that call for closer work with the platform.
Flutter is another cross-platform option. It uses Dart and draws its own interface, which suits a heavily branded design that needs to look identical across platforms; your team would need to be comfortable working in Dart. A progressive web app can suit a staff tool and skips store review, but it will not appear in the stores unless packaged for them. On iPhone, notification permission is available only after it has been added to the Home Screen.
You speak directly with the people designing and building your product, so you can discuss the trade-offs with the people doing the work.
Local
What BKC businesses need from an app
BKC is a commercial area and a major financial centre. A team serving organisations there might need customers to sign in on their phones, while staff look up accounts and manage records without asking a developer for each change. That calls for the phone app and the tools behind it to be planned together.
A BKC business serving Mumbai’s finance, jewellery or IT sectors might already have a web platform that customers use frequently. An app can use the same accounts and data as the website, with a shared backend serving the app and staff tools. That gives you a clear point to discuss the existing system before deciding what needs to be built.
Rules
What an app project in India has to handle
For customers paying for physical goods or services in India, UPI is a mobile payment option. We set up checkout through a payment gateway suited to the transaction. For digital content or subscriptions used inside the app, we set up the applicable in-app purchase or billing flow for each store; physical purchases need a different payment route.
The distinction belongs in the screen and checkout design. Decide what the customer is buying before the payment flow is built, so the store billing settings match the product.
How it runs
How an app project runs with us
We work remotely from India using video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. You can review the work and give feedback without needing to meet in person.
- 01
Discover
We learn about your business, audience and goals, then agree the scope with you. Bring the main task you want people to complete in the app.
- 02
Design
We put a clickable prototype in front of you. Show it to a few customers or staff and bring their feedback back while screens are still easier to change.
- 03
Test
During development, you receive builds on your own phone through TestFlight or Google Play testing tracks. Use the app as a customer or staff member would and share what needs attention.
- 04
Submit
We handle store listings, submission and review under your developer accounts. You retain those accounts while we manage the release work.
- 05
Prepare for review
If the app has a login, provide a working demo account and keep the backend live for submission. Leave room in your launch plan for a fix and resubmission if needed.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Bring the following details to make the first discussion useful.
- List what users must do in the first release, in the order they will do it.
- Name the website, CRM, booking system or payment provider the app must connect to; note available APIs and who has admin access.
- Start registering Apple and Google developer accounts in your company’s name. Organisation verification needs a D-U-N-S number.
- Prepare a privacy policy that matches the data the app collects; Apple requires a link in the listing and inside the app.
- Keep a record of analytics and advertising SDKs so the Google Play Data safety answers cover their data collection.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline of app development
The work changes with the screens, connections and behaviour you need.
User roles
Customers, drivers and staff each need their own flows and permissions, even with a shared backend.
Integrations
A payment gateway, CRM or booking system adds setup, testing and handling for failed connections.
Interface
Custom animation, additional languages and tablet layouts add design and testing across screens.
Offline work
Showing previously loaded data is more modest than letting people edit offline and resolving conflicts when records sync.
Questions
Asked by businesses in BKC
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to develop an app?
There is no fixed price. A documented existing backend can reduce the work, while a new backend and admin panel add substantial work. Live chat or tracking also needs persistent connections. We send a free quote once the scope is agreed.
How do I choose an app development company?
Ask who will hold the developer accounts, signing access and code, and how you would move the app later. Also ask what the app will do beyond displaying your existing website: a repackaged site in an app shell risks store rejection and gives users little reason to install it.
What is included behind the app screens?
We can build a shared backend for your app, website and admin tools. If users can create accounts, the build also needs an in-app route to start account deletion. Google Play requires a web link for deletion requests as well, so plan that alongside the account screens.
Who owns the code and content?
You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. For an existing app, make a list of the systems and content you want to retain before agreeing the new work. That gives you a practical basis for discussing what you will need to manage after handover.
What support does the app need after launch?
Plan for bug fixes, platform updates and new features. Google Play requires apps and updates to target a recent Android API level, so maintenance releases need a place in your plan. Track where users leave the main task and the crash-free rate to assess what needs attention.
