Choosing
Should you build a cross-platform or native app?
For an app built around bookings, payments, accounts, forms or content, a cross-platform approach lets you share most of the code between iOS and Android. We usually use React Native and add native modules where a feature needs them. That gives you a shared codebase to maintain while keeping room for features that need platform-specific work.
A native build uses Swift for iPhone and Kotlin for Android. It suits an app that relies on deep device features, heavy graphics, complex background work or new platform features as soon as they launch. The trade-off is maintaining separate codebases. Flutter is another cross-platform option: it uses Dart and draws its own interface, which suits a heavily branded design when you are prepared to work in Dart.
A progressive web app is worth considering for a staff tool. It avoids store review, but it will not appear in app stores unless packaged for them. On iPhone, it can request notification permission only after someone adds it to the Home Screen.
Local
What businesses in Andaman and Nicobar Islands need from an app
Tourism is a major contributor to the islands’ economy. If you run a visitor-facing business that takes appointments, your app brief could centre on booking, reminders and payments, with a staff view of the day’s schedule. Start with the tasks a customer needs to complete and the information your staff need to act on each booking.
Small-scale industries in the islands include engineering, woodworking and textiles. If your business needs an app for customers, include the staff tools in your plan: an admin panel can let your team edit content, look up customers and issue refunds without calling a developer. Those tools sit alongside the customer app and the backend that holds accounts and data.
Rules
What an app project in India has to handle
UPI supports mobile payments from people to merchants. For a physical service or product, we can set up a payment gateway that offers UPI at checkout. For digital goods or subscriptions sold inside an Android app, Google Play billing is required; it must not be used for physical goods or services. We set up the checkout route to match what you sell.
If a non-bank provider aggregates customer payments for merchants, it must be authorised as a payment aggregator. We check the provider as part of the gateway setup; Razorpay and Cashfree Payments are authorised options.
How it runs
How a mobile app project runs with us
We work remotely from India using video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. You can review the work and give feedback without needing to meet us in person.
- 01
Discover
We learn about your business, audience and goals, then agree the scope with you. Bring the customer task you want the app to support.
- 02
Design
We prepare iOS and Android screens and refine them with your feedback before writing code. Tell us where a flow does not match how your customers or staff work.
- 03
Prototype
Put the clickable design in front of a few customers or staff. Their feedback gives you a chance to change screens before they are built.
- 04
Prepare submission
If the app has a login, provide a working demo account and a live backend for Apple’s review. Leave room in your launch plan for a fix and resubmission if needed.
- 05
Release
We handle the store listings, submission and review under your own developer accounts. You retain control of those accounts.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
A few practical details will help us agree the first release.
- List the tasks users must complete, in the order they would do them.
- Identify your website, booking system, CRM or payment provider, and note who holds access and whether each has an API.
- Check your Google Play account typea new personal account requires a closed test before production release.
- Prepare a privacy policy that matches the data your app collects; Apple requires a link in the listing and app.
- Plan account deletion if users can create accountsGoogle Play requires an in-app path and a web request link.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline of app development
The scope determines how much design, build and testing work is needed.
Offline work
Showing the last loaded data is modest work; creating and editing records offline needs syncing and conflict handling.
Screen design
Custom animation, extra languages and tablet layouts add design and testing across screens.
User content
Posts from users need filtering, reporting, blocking and published contact details.
Backend and admin panel
An existing backend with a documented API reduces the work; building both from scratch adds a substantial part of the project.
Avoid
Mistakes to avoid with mobile app development
Wrapping your website in an app shell
Give people useful app features; Apple’s guidelines expect more than a repackaged site.
Demanding sign-up immediately
Let people explore without logging in when the app has no significant account-based features.
Requesting notification permission at launch
Ask when the benefit is clear, such as after an order. On recent Android versions, notifications stay off until the user allows them.
Adding a tracking SDK without updating privacy answers
Include data collected by third-party SDKs in Google Play’s Data safety form.
Questions

Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to develop an app?
There is no fixed price. Live tracking or chat adds persistent connections and backend work, while in-app purchases and subscriptions add payment flows to the scope. The number and complexity of features also shape the work. We send a free quote once we have agreed the scope with you.
How do I choose an app development company?
Choose a company whose working arrangements and technical approach fit your project. Ask who you will speak to during the build and how the app will connect with your existing website. With us, you talk directly to the people designing and building your product, and we can build a shared backend for your app, website and admin tools.
What is included in the app build?
The build can include the app, a backend for accounts and data, and admin tools for your team. We use a React Native codebase across iOS and Android, adding native modules where needed. Analytics and crash reporting belong in the first release so you can see screen use, drop-off and device crashes.
Can customers control which notifications they receive?
Yes. We set up a sending service such as Firebase Cloud Messaging, rules for who receives each message and when, and in-app settings for notification categories. Customers can switch off categories they do not want. Before the build, decide which messages you need to send and which groups should receive them.
Who owns the app code and content?
You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. Discuss ownership as you agree the scope, so it is clear what belongs to you when the work is handed over. That gives you control of those assets as your app and its content change.
What happens after the app launches?
Ongoing support covers bug fixes, updates for new iOS and Android versions, and new features. Plan maintenance releases too: Google Play requires apps and updates to target a recent Android API level. After release, look at returning users, drop-off in the main task and the crash-free rate.
