Choosing
Should you choose cross-platform, native or a web app?
For an app built around accounts, forms, lists, bookings, payments or content, a cross-platform build is a practical starting point. We usually use React Native, which shares a codebase between iOS and Android. Where a feature needs direct access to a device capability, we add a native module. That keeps the shared approach while making room for features that need platform-specific work.
A native build uses Swift for iPhone and Kotlin for Android. It suits deep device features, heavy graphics, complex background work or new platform features needed at launch. You will have separate codebases to build and maintain. Flutter is another cross-platform option: it uses Dart and draws its own interface, which suits a highly customised design if you are willing to work in Dart.
For a staff tool, a progressive web app is also worth considering. It skips store review, but needs packaging to appear in app stores. On iPhone, it can ask to send notifications only after the user adds it to the Home Screen.
Local
What Manipur organisations need from an app
Trade and cottage industries are part of Manipur's economy, and the region has a large number of handicraft units and craftspersons. A craft seller with repeat customers could use an app for reordering, loyalty and saved payment details. The checkout needs to be quick enough for a returning customer to complete an order without working through unnecessary screens.
Universities and institutes in Manipur may have staff who collect information away from an office. An app for that work could provide forms, photos, signatures and a location for each job, then sync records when a signal returns.
For an organisation whose customers already use its web platform, frequent use can make an app worth considering. Reusing the existing accounts and data gives those customers a consistent place to continue their work.
Rules
What an app project in India has to handle
UPI supports person-to-merchant payments in India, so we can set up a checkout to accept it through a payment provider. A non-bank provider that aggregates customer payments for merchants must be authorised; the provider choice therefore belongs in the checkout plan. For digital features or subscriptions used inside an iOS app, Apple generally requires in-app purchase. We set up the purchase or subscription flow around what the customer is buying; physical goods and services used outside the app need another payment method.
How it runs
How an app project runs with us
We are a studio in India and work with clients remotely. Video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards give you ways to discuss decisions and follow the work.
- 01
Discover
We learn about your business, audience and goals, then agree the scope with you. Bring the task you want people to complete in the app and the systems it must connect to.
- 02
Design
We refine the iOS and Android screens with your feedback before writing code. Put the clickable prototype in front of a few customers or staff and tell us where they hesitate or get stuck.
- 03
Build and test
You receive test builds on your phone through TestFlight or Google Play's internal or closed testing tracks. Use the app for a real task and send us specific feedback.
- 04
Submit
We handle store listings, submission and review under your developer accounts. If the app has a login, have a working demo account and live backend ready for Apple to review.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
A few decisions and documents will give the discussion a useful starting point.
- Write down what users must do in the first release, in the order they will do it.
- List the website, booking software, payment provider or other systems the app must use, and identify their APIs and admin access holders.
- Start registering Apple and Google developer accounts in your company's name. Organisation accounts need a D-U-N-S number for verification.
- If you plan to use a new personal Google Play developer account, prepare for the required closed test before production release.
- Plan to keep signing access and the code repository in your business's name, so you can move the app later.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline
The work changes with the systems and features you ask the app to support.
Existing backend
A documented API reduces the work needed to connect the app; a new backend and admin panel can be as large a job as the app.
Live features
Chat, live tracking and presence need persistent connections and more backend work than screens that request data when opened.
Integrations
Each payment gateway, map, booking system or device adds setup, testing and handling for failures.
User content
Posts or other user submissions need moderation features, including reporting, blocking and filtering, as well as published contact details.
Avoid
Mistakes to avoid with app development
Wrapping your website in an app shell
Apple expects an app to offer more than a repackaged site. Define a useful app task before choosing this route.
Asking for notification permission at launch
Ask when the benefit is clear, such as after an order. On Android 13 and later, notifications stay off until the user allows them.
Adding an analytics or advertising SDK without revisiting privacy answers: Update Google Play's Data safety form to cover data collected by third-party SDKs in the app.
Questions

Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to develop an app?
There is no fixed price: the scope drives the cost. Offline editing with later syncing needs more work than showing the last loaded data, while custom animation, several languages and tablet layouts add design and testing across screens. Agree which of these belongs in your first release before asking for a quote.
How do I choose an app development company?
Choose a team that can explain how it will measure use and diagnose faults after release. Ask what analytics and crash reporting it will include from the start, and how it will check where users abandon the main task. Retention and the crash-free rate give you more useful signals than download counts alone.
Will I own the app code?
Yes. You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in when you work with us. Discuss ownership before the build starts so that the agreement covers the assets your business needs to keep and use after the app is released. You should be able to take those assets with you.
What happens if my app lets people create accounts?
The app needs a way for people to start deleting their accounts inside it. Apple does not accept an option that only disables or deactivates an account. Google Play also requires an in-app deletion path for the account and associated data, plus a web link where people can request deletion.
What support does an app need after launch?
Plan for bug fixes, platform updates and new features after release. Google Play requires apps and updates to target a recent Android API level, so maintenance releases need a place in the plan. Some JavaScript and content fixes can go out over the air, but native code or permission changes still need a store release.
How do push notifications work?
Notifications need a sending service, rules for who receives each message and when, and settings inside the app. We can use Firebase Cloud Messaging for delivery and give users controls to switch off categories they do not want. Agree the message categories before building the settings, so each control has a clear purpose.
