Choosing
Should you choose cross-platform, native or a web app?
For an app built around accounts, forms, bookings, payments or content, cross-platform development is a practical place to start. React Native shares most of the code between iOS and Android while using each platform’s own interface components. It is written in JavaScript or TypeScript, so web developers can contribute, and some logic can be shared with a React website.
Flutter is another cross-platform choice. It uses Dart and draws its own interface, which suits a heavily branded design where you want screens to look identical across platforms. That choice also means your team needs to be willing to work in Dart. A progressive web app is worth considering for a staff tool: it avoids store review, though it will not appear in the app stores unless packaged for them. On iPhone, it can request notification permission only after being added to the Home Screen.
We usually choose React Native. Where your app needs deep device features, we discuss a native build instead; native modules also give a cross-platform app access to specific features where needed.
Local
What Odisha organisations may need from an app
Odisha attracts investment in information technology. If your business already runs a web platform and customers use it frequently, an app can give those customers another way to use their existing accounts and data. Start by identifying the tasks they repeat, so the app supports those tasks without creating a separate set of customer records.
Rourkela hosts an integrated public-sector steel plant. For maintenance or inspection teams working with an industrial operation, a useful app scope could include job forms, photos, signatures and location, with records sent to the office when signal returns. Decide which information staff must still be able to enter while offline.
Rules
Payment choices for an app in India
Your checkout needs to match what you sell. Apple requires in-app purchase for digital content, features and subscriptions used inside the app; physical goods and services used outside it need another payment method, such as a card gateway. We set up the relevant payment flow and check the provider’s authorisation. Non-bank payment aggregators need RBI authorisation; Razorpay and Cashfree Payments have received it.
How it runs
How a mobile app project runs with us
We work with you remotely from India, using video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. You can give feedback on the work without needing to meet us in person.
- 01
Discover
We learn about your business, audience and goals, then agree the scope with you. Bring the main task you want people to complete in the app.
- 02
Design
We prepare iOS and Android screens and refine them with your feedback before writing code. You can review the proposed flow while changes are still on the screen.
- 03
Prototype
Put the clickable design in front of a few customers or staff. Their feedback helps you identify screen changes while those changes cost less than they would after building.
- 04
Test
We share development builds for your own phone through TestFlight on iPhone or a Google Play testing track. Use the app in real situations and tell us what needs attention.
- 05
Release
We handle the store listings, submission and review under your own developer accounts. You retain control of those accounts as the app moves towards release.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Bring these details to the first discussion.
- List the tasks users must complete in the first release, in the order they will do them.
- Note the website, booking, CRM, ERP or payment systems involved, their APIs and who has admin access.
- Start your Apple and Google organisation accounts early; business verification needs a D-U-N-S number.
- Prepare a privacy policy that reflects the data your app collects; Apple requires links in the app and listing.
- Keep the code repository and signing access in your business’s name.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and time needed
The work grows with the behaviour and screens you need to support.
Offline editing
Showing previously loaded data is modest work; creating and editing records offline needs syncing and conflict handling.
Live features
Tracking, chat and presence need persistent connections and extra backend work.
Screen design
Custom animation, several languages, right-to-left scripts and tablet layouts add design and testing across screens.
User content
Posts or other user-generated material need filtering, reporting, blocking and published contact details for Apple’s requirements.
Avoid
Mistakes to avoid when building your app
Asking everyone to sign up immediately
Let people see and use the app without logging in when it has no significant account-based features.
Requesting notification permission at first launch
Ask when the benefit is clear, such as after an order. On Android 13 and later, notifications stay off until the user allows them.
Adding an analytics or advertising SDK without revisiting privacy answers: Update Google Play’s Data safety form to cover data collected by third-party SDKs.
Questions
Asked by businesses in Odisha
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to develop an app?
There is no fixed price. A new backend and admin panel add substantial work, while an existing backend with a documented API reduces it. Each integration, such as a payment gateway or booking system, also needs setup, testing and failure handling. We send a free quote once the scope is agreed.
How should I choose an app development company?
Choose a team that plans how you will see what happens after release. Ask for analytics and crash reporting in the first release, then look at where people leave the main task, how often they return and the crash-free rate. Those measures give you practical evidence for deciding what to improve.
What features can you include in my app?
We can include push notifications and account features as part of your app scope. Notifications need a sending service, rules for who receives each message and settings for switching categories off. If users can create accounts, the build also needs an in-app deletion path; Google Play additionally requires a web link for deletion requests.
Who owns the app code and content?
You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. That gives your business control of those assets after the work is delivered. Before you hire, make ownership part of the discussion so everyone understands what your business will hold when the app is ready.
Can my app share data with my website?
Yes. We build a backend that serves your app, website and admin tools. When you discuss the scope, explain which customer information and tasks need to be available across them; that gives us a clearer basis for planning how the app and website work together.
What support is available after launch?
We provide ongoing support for bug fixes, updates for new iOS and Android versions, and new features. Some JavaScript and content fixes can be delivered over the air with tools such as Expo EAS Update. Native code changes, new permissions and Expo SDK upgrades still need a store release.
