A disclaimer page is not enough on its own for paid links or sponsored posts. Advertising rules in many countries expect a clear label next to the link or at the top of the post itself.

This disclaimer generator writes a website disclaimer for a business or content site. It starts with a general information section and a limitation of liability, then adds the parts that match your site: a "not professional advice" section for legal, financial, medical, fitness or technical content, and sections on affiliate links, sponsored posts, testimonials, guest authors, AI-assisted content and links to other websites. You get Markdown and HTML to copy or download, and nothing you type leaves your browser.
How to use it
- Enter the business or site name, the website address and a contact email.
- If the site gives advice in a professional field, choose that field.
- Tick what the site has, such as affiliate links or testimonials.
- Replace each placeholder in square brackets with your own details.
- Publish the page, link it in the footer, and add short labels next to affiliate or sponsored content.
How to read the result
This is a starting template, not legal advice. Laws differ by country and change; have a lawyer review the text before you publish it.
With the default settings, a site with affiliate links, testimonials and links to other websites, the disclaimer has 6 sections and 3 placeholders: the date, how you choose the products you recommend, and how affiliate links are marked on the page.
Choose "Financial or investment" as the professional field and the disclaimer grows to 7 sections and 4 placeholders. The new section says the content is not financial, investment or tax advice, that past performance does not guarantee future results, and asks you to name the qualifications of the people who write the content. Leaving that placeholder in is a reminder that readers trust named, qualified authors more than an anonymous site.
The testimonials section matters if you publish results, such as "lost 10 kg" or "doubled sales". It says the results are not typical and not promised, which is what many advertising codes expect.
We write and structure policy pages as part of website design and development. The privacy policy generator and terms of service generator cover the other two footer pages most sites need.
Questions
Frequently asked.
Does a disclaimer protect me from all liability?
No. A disclaimer sets expectations and can limit some claims, but courts in many countries will not enforce a clause that excludes liability for negligence, fraud or consumer rights. It works best alongside accurate content and clear labels. This is a starting template, not legal advice; have a lawyer review it.
Is a disclaimer page enough for affiliate links?
Usually not. Advertising rules in many countries expect the disclosure next to the link or at the top of the post, where people see it before they click. Keep the disclaimer page as the full explanation, and add a short label such as "affiliate link" wherever the links appear.
Where should the disclaimer go on my site?
Link it in the footer next to your privacy policy and terms. If your site gives health, legal or financial information, also put a one-line summary at the top or bottom of those articles, because few readers open the footer page before acting on what they read.
