Choosing
Should you choose WordPress or a custom website?
WordPress suits a team that wants to edit content frequently. A custom Next.js site suits a business that wants a design without template limits and is happy for a developer to handle structural changes. It can still have an editor for content. We recommend an approach after learning how your team works, including who will make updates.
A hosted builder such as Wix, Squarespace or Webflow can suit a small site you want to run alone. You give up some control over code and speed, and moving away later can mean rebuilding. An adapted template can also fit a simple, tightly defined site, provided its pages are reworked around your actual content.
For a site with heavy editing needs, a headless setup pairs a custom front end with a separate editor. That gives you a fast front end and room for frequent content work, with more parts to host and maintain. Consider who will look after those parts before choosing it.
Local
What Townsville organisations need from a website
Townsville has health services alongside government and community offices. A clinic website needs clear service pages, practitioner profiles and opening hours, with a booking or call option that works on a phone. An administrative organisation needs a clear page structure and an owner for each part of the project, from content through to launch.
Manufacturing is also part of Townsville’s economy. A manufacturer can prepare a ranked list of products and services so the navigation leads visitors to the right information. Photos of finished work give the design real material to work with; gathering them early also leaves time to arrange any photography needed.
Rules
What an Australian website project needs to handle
If you provide health services, the Privacy Act applies regardless of turnover. We set up a privacy policy page and agree what your enquiry form asks for, who receives the message and what the visitor sees after submitting it.
Australian accessibility guidelines recommend WCAG 2.2 at a minimum of Level AA. We set an accessibility target in the brief and use it to guide page design and build decisions, including the way visitors move through the site.
How it runs
How a website project runs with us
We work remotely from India over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India is 4h30m behind Brisbane, and Queensland does not change its clocks. The shared board gives you a place to review work and leave feedback between calls.

Discover
Tell us who buys from you, why they choose you and what you want visitors to do. We agree the scope with you from those answers.
- 02
Structure
We prepare wireframes showing what goes on each page and in what order. Your feedback here should focus on content and priorities; colours come later.
- 03
Design and build
We refine the designs with your feedback before coding, then build the site and test it on real devices and browsers.
- 04
Check and launch
Proofread every page, submit each form and confirm who receives it. We set up the domain, email, analytics and Search Console, then walk your team through the site.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
A few practical materials will help us understand the work and who needs to be involved.
- Brand filesYour logo in SVG, AI or EPS, plus your colours and fonts, or a note that these still need creating.
- Site goalThe enquiries you want and the person who handles each kind.
- Proof of workCase studies, permitted client logos, testimonials, certifications and memberships in a folder.
- Website examplesSites you like and dislike, with a short reason for each.
- Content ownersDecide who will gather or write service descriptions, team bios, case studies and photos.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline
The scope and readiness of your materials determine how much design, build and testing work is involved.
Page templates
Distinct layouts take more design and build work than pages sharing a template.
Features
Booking, calculators, member logins, several languages or a CRM connection add work and testing.
Content
Copy and photos ready to publish reduce the scope; writing, photography or translation add to it.
Brand
An existing logo and style guide reduce design work compared with deciding the visual identity during the project.

Questions
Asked by businesses in Townsville
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to have a website built?
There is no fixed price. The main drivers are the number of distinct page templates, the features you need and how much content is ready to publish. Once we have agreed the scope with you, we send a free quote for the work.
Can you use our existing brand?
Yes. We build on your existing logo, colours and fonts, and prepare brand assets for the web where needed. Share the files you have and tell us what still needs work, so those tasks are clear when we agree the scope.
What is included in the website build?
The build includes an editor for pages, news, projects and careers, plus contact and quote forms routed to the right inbox. We also set up WhatsApp and click-to-call, and provide a walkthrough so your team knows how to use the site.
Will we own the website?
Yes. You own the domain, content and code. Hold the domain and hosting accounts in your business’s name and grant access to the people working on the site. That keeps control of those accounts with your business when you need changes.
What should we manage after launch?
Give someone responsibility for updating news, projects and job posts. Use analytics to track form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks as conversions, and check which pages those enquiries started from. That gives you a practical way to review the site against its enquiry goal.
