Choosing
Should you choose WordPress or a custom website?
WordPress suits a team that publishes often and wants to edit most of the site without a developer. Its plugins give you a broad choice of features, but someone needs to keep them updated for security. A custom-coded site in Next.js fits when you want a design without template limits and are happy to have a developer handle structural changes. It can still include an editor for content.
A hosted builder such as Wix, Squarespace or Webflow suits a small site you want to run yourself. You give up some control over code and speed, and a later move can mean rebuilding. A separate content editor paired with a custom front end offers another route for a site with heavy editing needs, although there are more parts to host and maintain.
The design choice is separate. A custom design suits a specific brand, audience or content; an adapted template can work for a simple site when it is reworked around your actual copy and photos. We discuss how your team will use the site before recommending an approach.
Local
What Bundaberg businesses need from a website
Agriculture, forestry, fishing and tourism are part of the local economy. If you run one of these businesses, your visitors need to understand your offer and find a way to contact you. We plan service or product pages and set up an enquiry form that reaches the right inbox, with click-to-call for someone using a phone.
Sugar milling, refinement, packaging and distribution operations are also located around the city, while local distilleries and breweries export to international markets. For these businesses, the page structure needs room for clear product descriptions and company information. Gathering the copy and photos early gives us real material to design around and gives your team a chance to check what each page says.
Rules
What an Australian website project needs to handle
Australian guidance recommends WCAG 2.2 at a minimum of Level AA for equal access to digital goods and services. We agree an accessibility target in your brief so it guides the page designs and build. We also set up clear heading structures, page titles and descriptions as part of the search-ready build. Review the designs against the agreed target before approval, and include that work in the project scope.
How it runs
How a website project runs with us
We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and a shared project board. India is 4h30m behind Brisbane, and Queensland does not change its clocks. We use the board to keep feedback and decisions visible across that difference.
- 01
Discover
We learn about your business, audience and goals. You tell us what the site needs to do, and we agree the scope together.
- 02
Plan the pages
We make wireframes before visual design. Your feedback at this stage should focus on what belongs on each page and its order.
- 03
Build and test
We build in clean code or a content management system your team can edit, then test on real devices and browsers.
- 04
Check before launch
You proofread every page, submit each form once and confirm who receives the messages. This catches small errors visitors would otherwise see.
- 05
Launch
We set up the domain, email, analytics and Search Console, then walk your team through the site and its setup.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Bring what you have; a note about anything still being prepared is useful too.
- Services or productsList them in order of importance so the navigation and home page reflect your priorities.
- Enquiry goalDecide if you want quote requests, calls or applications, and who handles each type.
- Brand filesBring your logo in SVG, AI or EPS format, plus your colours and fonts.
- Website examplesNote what you like or dislike about each, with a reason such as easy-to-find contact details.
- PhotosGather real images of your team, premises and finished work; book a photo shoot ahead if needed.
- Account accessFind the logins for your domain, hosting, email, analytics and Search Console, or the person who holds them.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline
The scope determines how much design, build and checking work is needed.
Page templates
Distinct layouts take more design and build work than pages that share a template, even when the shared template holds different content.
Features
Booking, calculators, member logins, multiple languages or a CRM connection add screens and testing to the work.
Content migration
Blog posts, news archives and downloadable files from an old site need moving and checking.
Brand readiness
An existing logo and style guide reduce design work compared with deciding the colours and typefaces during the project.

Questions
Asked by businesses in Bundaberg
Page updated 5 November 2026
Is paying for web design still worth it?
It is worth assessing against what you need the site to do. Track form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks in analytics, then check which pages visitors started from. Also decide who will update news, projects and job posts after launch, so prospective customers see current information when they visit.
Can you work with our existing brand?
Yes. We build on your existing logo, colours and fonts, and prepare brand assets for the web where needed. That gives the page designs a consistent starting point while leaving room to organise the content around what your visitors need to find.
What is included in the website build?
The build includes an editor for pages, news, projects and careers, plus search setup across the pages. We set up metadata, structured data and sitemaps, and build for fast load times. Your team can use the editor without training to keep those content areas current.
Will we own the website and its accounts?
You own the domain, content and code, with no lock-in. Keep the domain and hosting accounts in your business name and grant access to the people working on the site. That way, your business holds the accounts when you need to make changes or work with someone else.
Do you offer support after launch?
Yes. Ongoing support follows launch, so you have a route to ask for help after the site goes live. During the project, we design pages for desktop and mobile and refine them with your feedback before code is written.
