Choosing
Should you choose WordPress, a custom site or a website builder?
WordPress suits a team that publishes often and wants to edit most of the site itself. Its choice of plugins gives you ways to add features, though someone needs to keep them updated for security. A custom Next.js site suits a business that wants fast pages and a design without template limits, and is comfortable asking a developer to make structural changes.
A hosted builder such as Wix, Squarespace or Webflow fits a small site you want to run yourself. You trade some control over code and speed, and moving away later can mean rebuilding. An adapted template also suits a simple site with a tight brief, provided the layout is reworked around your actual content.
Your editing habits are a useful starting point. Think about who will publish new pages and who will handle changes to the site structure. We recommend WordPress or a custom Next.js build after learning how your team works.
Local
What St. Catharines organisations need from a website
The city’s employment has shifted from manufacturing towards services. A professional services firm needs separate pages for its services and partners, so a prospective client can check expertise and credentials before making contact. The navigation should make those pages easy to find.
Call centres are part of the local economy. For a call centre seeking enquiries, the site needs a clear page structure and a contact route that tells visitors where to go next. Decide who owns the content and handles messages as part of the project.
Brock University, Trillium College and Ridley College are based in the city. An education organisation planning its website needs to agree the sitemap and page structure around the information its visitors need, with an owner for each part of the work.
Rules
What a Canadian website project needs to handle
For Ontario businesses and non-profits with 50 or more employees, AODA requires public websites and web content posted after 1 January 2012 to meet WCAG 2.0 Level AA, with exceptions for live captions and pre-recorded audio descriptions. We set an accessibility target in the brief and build the pages with that target in mind.
PIPEDA governs how private-sector organisations collect, use and disclose personal information in commercial activity. For enquiry forms, we plan the information requested and set up where messages go and who receives them.
How it runs
How a website project runs with us
We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India is ahead of Eastern Time, and the gap changes with daylight saving time. The shared board gives you a place to leave feedback and see progress across the time difference.

Discover
We learn about your business, audience and goals, then agree the scope with you. Tell us who buys from you, why they choose you and what you want visitors to do; those answers shape the sitemap.
- 02
Design
We start with wireframes, then prepare page designs for desktop and mobile. Review the content and order of each page in the wireframes before turning to colours and visual details.
- 03
Build and check
We build the agreed site. Before launch, proofread every page, submit each form and confirm that its message reaches the right person.
- 04
Launch and care
We set up the domain, email, analytics and Search Console, then walk your team through the site. Agree who will take responsibility for its content after handover.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Bring what you have, along with any gaps your team still needs to resolve.
- Brand filesYour vector logo, colours and fonts, or a note that they still need creating.
- PrioritiesA ranked list of the services or products you want to feature.
- ExamplesSites you like and dislike, with a short reason for each choice.
- PhotosImages of your team, premises and finished work; book a shoot ahead if needed.
- GoalsThe enquiries you want and the person who will handle each kind.
- ProofGather case studies, permitted client logos, testimonials, certifications and memberships in a folder.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline?
The scope determines how much design, build and checking work the project needs.
Features
Booking, calculators, member logins, multiple languages and CRM connections each add work to design, build and test.
Content readiness
Copy and photos ready to publish keep the work smaller; adding copywriting, photography or translation expands it.
Migration
Moving blog posts, news archives and downloadable files from an old site adds transfer and checking work.
Brand readiness
An existing logo and style guide reduce design effort compared with a project where colours and typefaces are still being decided.

Questions
Asked by businesses in St. Catharines
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to have a website built?
There is no fixed price. The amount of page design, the editing tools your team needs and the forms and enquiry routes included in the scope all affect the work. We agree the scope with you before discussing a quote.
Is website development still worth paying for?
It is worth considering when your site needs to help visitors find a service and make an enquiry. Start by reviewing the pages you have: copying every old page is not necessary. Clear service pages are easier for visitors to scan and for your team to keep current.
Can you work with our existing brand?
Yes. We build on your existing logo, colours and fonts, and prepare brand assets for the web where needed. Bring real headings and paragraphs into the design review too: placeholder text can hide layout problems that appear when the finished content is added.
Will we own the website after launch?
Yes. You own the domain, content and code, with no lock-in. Hold the domain and hosting accounts in your business’s name and grant access to the people working on the site. That keeps control of the accounts with your team.
What should we check after the website launches?
Check both enquiries and content upkeep. Track form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks as conversions in analytics, and look at the pages where they started. Also decide who updates news, projects and job posts, so visitors do not encounter stale information.
