Choosing
Should you choose WordPress, a custom site or a website builder?
WordPress suits a team that publishes often and wants to edit most of the site itself. Its choice of plugins gives you room to add features, but someone needs to keep the installation updated for security. We recommend WordPress or a custom Next.js site after learning how your team works and who will manage the content.
A custom design fits when your brand, content or audience calls for a particular approach. An adapted template can suit a simple site with a tight brief, provided the layouts are reworked around your actual content. A headless setup pairs a custom front end with a separate editor; it suits heavy editing needs, though it adds components to host and maintain.
A hosted builder such as Wix, Squarespace or Webflow suits a small site you want to run alone. You give up some control over code and speed, and moving away later can mean rebuilding the site. Consider who will make changes after launch before choosing the platform.
Local
What London organisations need from their websites
Technology companies in East London Tech City include businesses launching products or raising money. Their sites need a plain explanation of the product and a clear next step, such as joining a waitlist or booking a demo. Visitors should be able to understand the offer before deciding to get in touch.
Financial services businesses in London need enquiry routes that reach the right person. Agree who receives each form, what the confirmation says and whether visitors should have a click-to-call or WhatsApp option on mobile.
London’s universities and colleges have information to organise for their audiences. A sitemap and clear page structure help give that content a place, while a content editor gives the organisation a way to maintain it.
Rules
What a UK website project has to handle
If you run a UK limited company, your website must show its registered number, registered office address, place of registration and limited-company status. We set aside space for those details in the build, and you supply the information to publish.
Service providers must make reasonable adjustments so disabled people can use their websites. We agree an accessibility target in the brief and use the WCAG success criteria to guide the work, with the latest version encouraged by the W3C.
How it runs
How a website project runs with us
We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India is 5h30m ahead of the UK, or 4h30m ahead during British Summer Time; the shared board gives you a place to review work and leave feedback across that difference.

Discover
Tell us who buys from you, why they choose you and what visitors should do. We learn your goals and agree the scope with you.
- 02
Design
We prepare a sitemap, wireframes and page designs for desktop and mobile. You review them and give feedback before the design is refined.
- 03
Build
We write the code or set up an editable CMS, then test the site on real devices and browsers.
- 04
Check
You proofread each page, submit every form and confirm who receives the messages. This catches small errors before visitors encounter them.
- 05
Launch
We set up the domain, email, analytics and Search Console, then walk your team through the site.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Gather what you have, and note anything that still needs attention.
- Your services or products, ranked by business priority.
- Your logo in SVG, AI or EPS format, plus brand colours and fonts.
- Sites you like and dislike, with a brief reason for each choice.
- Account details for your domain, hosting, email and analytics, or the name of the person who holds them.
- Real photos of your team, premises and finished work.
- Case studies, testimonials, certifications and client logos you have permission to show.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and time of a website project
The scope determines how much design, build and testing work is needed.
Page templates
Distinct layouts need separate design and build work; pages sharing a template need less.
Features
Booking, calculators, member logins, multiple languages or a CRM connection add work and testing.
Content
Copy and photos ready to publish keep the scope smaller; writing, photography or translation add to it.
Brand
Existing logo files and a style guide reduce design work compared with deciding colours and typefaces during the project.
Avoid
Mistakes to avoid when building your website
Designing with placeholder copy
Bring real headings and paragraphs into the layouts early, so their length does not disrupt a design you thought was finished.
Reviewing only on a large screen
Check every page on a phone as well, including how the content reads and fits.
Leaving search setup until launch
Check page titles, the sitemap and any development indexing block before the site goes live.
Letting someone else hold your domain or hosting account
Keep the accounts in your business’s name and grant access to the people doing the work.

Questions
Asked by businesses in London
Page updated 5 November 2026
Is web development still worth investing in?
It can be worth investing in when the site has a clear job to do for your business. Decide what counts as an enquiry, then track form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks in analytics. Check which pages those enquiries started from, so you can judge the site against the actions you want visitors to take.
How much does it cost to have a website built?
There is no fixed price: the page structure and the work needed to gather or write content are major drivers. Service descriptions, team bios, case studies and photos all need an owner, so agree who will supply them. We send you a free quote once the scope is agreed.
Should we choose WordPress or a custom website?
The choice depends on how your team edits content. WordPress suits frequent self-editing; a custom Next.js site is faster and more secure and can still include an editor. We can also build on your existing logo, colours and fonts, and prepare brand assets for the web where needed.
What is included for handling enquiries?
We set up contact and quote forms that send messages to the right inbox, along with WhatsApp and click-to-call options. Before you approve the setup, decide which inbox should receive each type of request and who will be responsible for responding when an enquiry arrives.
Will we own the website?
Yes. You own the domain, content and code, with no lock-in. That gives your business control of those assets after handover. We also recommend being deliberate about which pages you maintain: a shorter site with clear service pages is easier for visitors to scan and for your team to keep current.
What support is available after launch?
Ongoing support follows launch. We handle the project from discovery through design, build and launch, and continue with care afterwards. On your side, name the person who will update news, projects and job posts, so those parts of the site stay current as your business changes.
