Choosing

Should you build a cross-platform, native or web app?

A cross-platform app suits products built around accounts, forms, bookings, maps, payments or content. We generally use React Native: it shares much of the code across iOS and Android while rendering each platform’s own interface components. Your web developers can contribute, and some logic can be shared with a React website. We choose a native build when the app needs deep device features.

Flutter is another cross-platform option. It uses Dart and draws its own interface, which suits a heavily branded design that needs to look identical on both platforms. Your team needs to be comfortable working in Dart. A progressive web app is a different choice: it skips store review and suits some staff tools, but it needs packaging to appear in app stores. On an iPhone, it can request notification permission only after being added to the Home Screen.

What Himachal Pradesh businesses need from an app

Apple growers and businesses selling their produce have a practical reason to consider repeat ordering. A shop serving returning customers needs a quick checkout, saved payment details and a way to encourage reorders. Staff also need somewhere to look up customers and manage the information behind the app without calling a developer for every change.

Tourism businesses in Himachal Pradesh can use an app to keep customers informed after they have made a booking. Push notifications need more than a message button: we set up a sending service, rules for who receives each message and when, and settings that let customers switch off notification categories they do not want.

Rules

What an app project in India needs for payments

Your checkout needs to distinguish digital purchases used inside the app from physical goods or services used outside it. We set up in-app purchases and subscriptions for digital content or features, and a separate payment gateway for physical purchases. Google Play billing must not be used for physical goods or services. Where a non-bank provider aggregates customer payments for merchants, it must be authorised as a payment aggregator, so we account for that when setting up the gateway.

How it runs

How a mobile app development project runs with us

You speak directly to the people designing and building your product. That gives you a route to discuss a screen, raise a concern and give feedback as the work develops.

  1. 01

    Discover

Tell us about your business, audience and goals. We use that conversation to agree the scope with you, including what the app needs to do.

  2. 02

    Design

We prepare iOS and Android screen designs before writing code. You review the screens and flows, and we refine them using your feedback.

  3. 03

    Test

You receive builds on your own phone through TestFlight or Google Play testing tracks. Use them to try the app in practice and tell us what needs attention.

  4. 04

    Launch

We handle the store listings, submission and review under your own developer accounts. You retain control of those accounts as the app moves towards release.

Checklist

What to have ready before we talk

Bring what you already have; these details give the discussion a useful starting point.

  • List the tasks users need in the first release, in the order they will do them.
  • Note the website, booking system, CRM or payment provider the app must connect to, plus API and admin access details.
  • Have a privacy policy that matches the data the app collects; Apple needs a link in the listing and app.
  • Check your Google Play account type. New personal accounts need a closed test with opted-in testers before production release.
  • For an app with login, prepare a working demo account and live backend for Apple’s submission review.

Cost & time

What affects the cost and time of mobile app development

The work changes with the features and systems in your scope.

  • Live features

Chat, tracking and presence need persistent connections and more backend work than screens that request data when needed.

  • Integrations

Each payment gateway, map, booking system or device needs setup, testing and handling for failures.

  • User content

Posts or other submissions need moderation. Apple requires reporting, blocking, filtering and published contact details.

  • Offline work

Showing previously loaded data is modest work; editing offline and resolving conflicts when records sync is a larger task.

Avoid

Mistakes to avoid with mobile app development

  • Wrapping a website in an app shell

Give people a useful reason to install the app. Apple’s guidelines expect more than a repackaged site.

  • Demanding sign-up too early

Let people see useful content first where the app does not have significant account-based features.

  • Requesting notifications immediately

Ask when the benefit is clear, such as after an order. On Android 13 and later, notifications remain off until the user allows them.

  • Adding an analytics or advertising SDK without revisiting privacy answers: Update Google Play’s Data safety form to cover data collected by third-party SDKs.

Questions

Asked by businesses in Himachal Pradesh

Page updated 5 November 2026

How much does it cost to develop an app?

The cost depends on the agreed scope. Separate customer, driver and staff roles each need their own screens and permissions. An existing backend with a documented API can reduce the work; a new backend and admin panel can be as substantial as the app itself. We discuss those choices when agreeing what to build.

How do I choose an app development company?

Choose a team whose approach fits the work you need done. Ask who handles the design, build and launch, and how your feedback reaches them. We handle those stages with the same team from start to finish, so you can discuss how the screens and build relate to your agreed scope.

Can the app use the same backend as my website?

Yes. We build a shared backend for your app, website and admin tools, so they can work with the same accounts and data. This is useful when customers already use your web platform frequently and you want to give them an app without creating a separate set of accounts.

What needs to be included if users create accounts?

Include an account deletion route in the app. Apple requires users to be able to start deletion there; disabling an account alone is not enough. Google Play also requires an in-app deletion path for the account and associated data, plus a web link where people can request deletion.

Who owns the app code and content?

You do. You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. That gives you control over those assets after launch, including if you decide to change how the product is maintained. Ask about ownership before agreeing the project so the handover is clear.

What support does an app need after launch?

Plan maintenance releases and use the app’s data to decide what needs attention. Google Play requires apps and updates to target a recent Android API level. Track where users leave the main task, how many return and the crash-free rate; these show more than the download count alone.
