Choosing

Should you build a cross-platform app, a native app or a web app?

Cross-platform development suits apps built around accounts, forms, lists, maps, bookings, payments or content. Frameworks such as React Native and Flutter share most of the code between iOS and Android, so there is less platform-specific code to maintain. You still need to make decisions about each platform’s interface and the services behind the screens.

Native development is a stronger fit for deep device features, heavy graphics, complex background work or access to new platform features at launch. The trade-off is maintaining separate codebases: Swift for iPhone and Kotlin for Android. That gives you a different set of build and maintenance responsibilities from a shared-code approach.

A progressive web app is another option, particularly for a staff tool. It skips store review, although it will not appear in the app stores unless packaged for them. On iPhone, it can ask to send notifications only after someone adds it to the Home Screen, so check whether that suits the way your staff will use it.

Local

What Punjab businesses need from an app

Agriculture is a major part of Punjab’s economy. An agriculture business with field teams could use job forms that collect photos, signatures and location, then sync records to the office when signal returns. Decide which work staff must finish while offline before setting the scope.

Textiles, garments and sports goods are among the region’s major sectors. A business in one of these sectors with customer accounts needs to consider the staff side too: an admin panel can let employees look up customers, edit content, issue refunds and block abusive accounts without calling a developer.

For restaurants serving repeat customers in Punjab’s culinary industry, reordering, loyalty and saved payment details are useful app features. A fast checkout and well-timed notifications give those customers a clear reason to return.

Rules

Payment choices for an app in India

The payment flow depends on what you sell. Apple and Google require their in-app purchase or billing systems for digital goods and subscriptions used in the app, while physical goods and services need another payment route. For merchant payments, we set up checkout with an authorised payment aggregator and include UPI where your provider supports it. Non-bank entities that aggregate customer payments for merchants must be authorised by the Reserve Bank of India. Some storefronts or regions allow alternative payment options.

How it runs

How a mobile app project runs with us

We work remotely with clients in other cities and countries. You can discuss the work with us over video calls and WhatsApp, and follow the project on a shared board.

  1. 01

    Discover

We learn about your business, audience and goals, then agree the scope with you. Bring the main task your users need to complete and the business systems involved.

  2. 02

    Design

We prepare screens for iOS and Android and refine them with your feedback before writing code. You get a chance to review the screens before development begins.

  3. 03

    Test on your phone

During development, we share test builds through TestFlight on iPhone and Google Play’s internal or closed testing tracks. Your feedback comes from using the app yourself.

  4. 04

    Prepare for review

If the app has a login, Apple expects a working demo account and live backend at submission. Leave room in your launch plans for fixes and resubmission.

  5. 05

    Submit

We handle the store listings, submission and review under your own developer accounts. You keep the accounts in your business’s control as the app moves towards release.

Checklist

What to have ready before we talk

Write a short list of what users must do in the first release, in the order they will do it.

  • List the website, booking, CRM or other systems involved; note their APIs and who holds admin access.
  • Prepare a privacy policy that matches the data the app collects, for the listing and app.
  • Check your Google Play accountnew personal accounts need a closed test with at least 12 testers opted in for at least 14 days.
  • If users create accounts, plan an in-app way to start deletion for Apple.
  • For Google Play, also plan an in-app deletion path and a web link for deletion requests.

Cost & time

What affects the cost and timeline?

The work changes with the features and systems you choose.

  • Live features

Tracking, chat and presence need persistent connections and more backend work than screens that load data on request.

  • Interface design

Custom animation, extra languages, right-to-left scripts and tablet layouts add design and testing across screens.

  • User content

Posts from users need filtering, reporting, blocking and published contact details to meet Apple’s requirements.

  • Existing systems

A backend with a documented API reduces the work; a new backend and admin panel can be as large a task as the app itself.

Avoid

Mistakes to avoid

  • Wrapping a website in an app shell

Apple expects more than a repackaged site. Give people a useful app experience with a reason to install it.

  • Asking everyone to sign up immediately

Let people see value first. Apple asks apps without significant account-based features to allow use without login.

  • Adding an analytics or advertising SDK without reviewing privacy answers: Update Google Play’s Data safety form to cover data collected by third-party SDKs in the app.

Questions

Asked by businesses in Punjab

Page updated 5 November 2026

How much does it cost to develop an app?

There is no fixed price: the scope drives the work. Offline editing and later syncing needs conflict handling, while integrations such as payments, maps or booking systems each need setup, testing and failure handling. Tell us which tasks must work offline and which systems the app needs to connect to when you request a quote.

How should I choose an app development company?

Choose a team that explains its platform recommendation and lets you speak directly to the people doing the work. We do both. We usually recommend React Native for a shared iOS and Android codebase, and discuss native development when deep device features make it a better fit.

What is included in the app build?

The build can include the app, purchases or subscriptions, and the tools needed to understand how it performs. We use a React Native codebase for both platforms, adding native modules where needed. Analytics and crash reporting in the first release show which screens people use, where they leave and which devices crash.

Can the app share data with my website?

Yes. We can build a shared backend for your app, website and admin tools. React Native also uses JavaScript or TypeScript, so web developers can contribute, and some logic can be shared with a React web app. The backend and shared interface logic are separate decisions to discuss.

Who owns the app and its accounts?

You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. Keep the developer accounts, signing access and code repository in your business’s name too. Accounts held in an agency’s or freelancer’s name can make the app difficult to move later, even when the app itself is working.

What happens after the app launches?

Launch is followed by ongoing support for bug fixes, platform updates and new features. Look at retention, where people drop out of the main task, and the crash-free rate after a release. Some JavaScript and content fixes can be sent over the air; native code changes and new permissions still need a store release.
