Choosing

Should you choose cross-platform, native or a web app?

A cross-platform app shares most of its code between iOS and Android. It suits work built around accounts, forms, lists, bookings, payments or content. React Native uses JavaScript or TypeScript and renders each platform’s own interface components; a web developer can contribute, and some logic can be shared with a React website.

Flutter is another cross-platform option. It uses Dart and draws its own interface, which suits a heavily branded design that needs to look the same on both platforms. That choice also means working in Dart. We generally use React Native and choose native development when an app needs deep device features.

A progressive web app is worth considering for a staff tool. It skips store review, but it will not appear in the app stores unless packaged for them. On an iPhone, it can ask for notification permission only after someone adds it to the Home Screen. Choose with those limits in mind.

Local

What businesses in Jammu and Kashmir need from an app

Agriculture and services contribute to the economy in Jammu and Kashmir, including horticulture and tourism. A field operation in horticulture could use job forms with photos, signatures and location, then sync records to the office when signal returns. An appointment business needs a different flow: booking, reminders, payments and a staff view of the day’s schedule.

The region also has a handicrafts industry with artisans and export potential. For a handicrafts shop serving repeat customers, the app work can centre on reordering, loyalty and saved payment details. The checkout needs to be quick, and notifications need to arrive at a useful point in the customer’s purchase.

Rules

What an app project in India has to handle

The payment flow depends on what you sell. For physical goods or services used outside the app, we set up checkout with a card gateway. Razorpay and Cashfree Payments are authorised payment aggregators. For digital content or features used in an iOS app, we set up in-app purchase.

For an Android app sold through Google Play, digital goods and subscriptions require Google Play billing. We account for that in the checkout flow; physical goods and services use a different payment route.

How it runs

How an app project runs with us

We work remotely from India. Video calls, WhatsApp and a shared project board give you ways to discuss the work and follow progress.

  1. 01

    Discover

We learn about your business, audience and goals, then agree the scope with you. Bring the tasks people need the app to handle.

  2. 02

    Design

We prepare screens for iOS and Android and refine them with your feedback before writing code. You can review the flows while they are still designs.

  3. 03

    Test on your phone

During development, you receive builds through TestFlight on iPhone or a Google Play testing track. Try the app in real use and share feedback.

  4. 04

    Prepare for submission

If the app has a login, we prepare a working demo account and live backend for Apple’s review. Leave room in the launch plan for fixes and resubmission.

Checklist

What to have ready before we talk

Bring a short list of first-release tasks in the order users will do them.

  • List the website, CRM, booking system or payment provider the app must connect to, plus any APIs and admin access.
  • Start registering Apple and Google developer accounts in your company’s name; organisation accounts need a D-U-N-S number.
  • For a new personal Google Play account, plan for the required closed test before production release.
  • Identify customers or staff who can try a clickable prototype and give feedback.
  • Plan to keep developer accounts, signing access and code repositories in your business’s name.

Cost & time

What affects the cost and timeline of app development

The work grows with the flows, connections and tools your app needs.

  • User roles

Customers, drivers and staff each need their own screens and permissions, even with a shared backend.

  • Real-time features

Live tracking, chat and presence need persistent connections and additional backend work.

  • Integrations

A payment gateway, booking system or hardware connection needs setup, testing and failure handling.

  • User-generated content

Filtering, reporting and blocking tools add moderation work, alongside published contact details.

  • Existing backend

A documented API can reduce the work; a new backend and admin panel need their own build.

Avoid

Mistakes to avoid with app development

  • Wrapping a website in an app shell

Apple expects an app to offer more than a repackaged site. Plan useful app features before submission.

  • Forcing everyone to sign up immediately

Let people use the app without logging in when significant account-based features do not require an account.

  • Asking for notification permission on first launch

Ask when the benefit is clear, such as after an order. On Android 13 and later, notifications stay off until the user allows them.

Questions

Page updated 5 November 2026

How much does it cost to develop an app?

There is no fixed price. The scope depends on whether you need a backend and staff admin panel, and how much offline work the app must support. Showing last-loaded information without signal is a smaller task than allowing offline edits that sync later with conflict handling.

How should I choose an app development company?

Choose a team that leaves you in control of the product. We handle store listings, submission and review under your own developer accounts, and you own your code, content and domain without lock-in. Ask how those accounts and assets will be handed over before work starts.

Can my app and website use the same backend?

Yes. We build a shared backend for your app, website and admin tools, so customer accounts and data live in one place. That backend can also support the accounts, notifications and administrative tools needed behind the mobile screens.

Does my app need an account deletion option?

Yes, if people can create an account in the app. Apple requires a way to start deletion inside the app; deactivation alone is not enough. Google Play also requires an in-app deletion path for the account and associated data, plus a web link for deletion requests.

What support does the app need after launch?

Plan for bug fixes, operating-system updates and new features. Google Play also requires apps and updates to target a recent Android API level. Some JavaScript and content fixes can go out over the air, while native code changes and new permissions still need a store release.

How do we see what needs improving after release?

Include analytics and crash reporting in the first release. Tools such as Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics or Sentry show which screens people use, where they give up and which devices crash. That gives you specific screens and device problems to investigate when planning changes.
