Choosing
Should you choose WordPress or a custom website?
WordPress suits a team that publishes often and wants to edit most of the site itself. Its plugins give you a broad choice of features, though the site needs regular updates to stay secure. A custom Next.js site is faster and more secure, and it can still include an editor for your team.
A hosted builder such as Wix, Squarespace or Webflow suits a small site you want to run on your own. You give up some control over code and speed, and moving away later can mean rebuilding. For a straightforward brief, an adapted template is an option; it still needs to be shaped around your actual content.
A custom design makes more sense when your brand, content or audience calls for something specific. Before choosing a platform, decide who will update the site and how often: the editing experience affects the work your team takes on after launch. We recommend WordPress or Next.js after learning how your team works.
Local
What St. Petersburg businesses need from a website
Health care, retail and professional services are among the city's largest industries. A clinic needs clear service pages, practitioner profiles and opening hours, with a booking or call option that works on a phone.
The Warehouse Arts District developed alongside a glass art market, and the arts contribute to regional tourism. An arts business here needs space to show its work: a portfolio with photos and details gives prospective customers something concrete to review.
Public schools in the city are administered by Pinellas County Schools. For a school website, the sitemap and page structure need clear ownership from the start, so the people responsible for content can keep information organised.
Rules
What a US website project has to handle
For a business open to the public, ADA Title III covers the goods and services it offers on the web. We agree an accessibility target in the brief and use WCAG to guide the page designs and build. That gives your team a specific target to review throughout the project.
State and local government websites have a WCAG 2.1 Level AA requirement. For that kind of project, we set up the brief and page designs against that target.
How it runs
How a website project runs with us
We work remotely from India using video calls, WhatsApp and a shared project board. India is 10h30m ahead of Eastern time in winter and one hour less during daylight saving time. The board keeps feedback and outstanding work visible between conversations.
- 01
Discover
Tell us about your business, audience and goals. We agree the scope with you before design starts.
- 02
Plan
Explain who buys from you, why they choose you and what visitors should do. We use that to shape the sitemap.
- 03
Review wireframes
Check the content and order of each page first. Colours come later, when the visual design is ready for your feedback.
- 04
Build and test
We build the site or an editable CMS and test it on real devices and browsers. Review pages on a phone as well as a desktop.
- 05
Launch and hand over
Proofread each page, submit the forms and confirm who receives them. We set up the domain, email, analytics and Search Console, walk your team through the site and provide ongoing support.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Bring what you have, along with the names of people who can fill the gaps.
- Your main goal, such as quote requests or calls, and who handles each enquiry.
- Case studies, permitted client logos, testimonials and certifications in a folder.
- Sites you like and dislike, with a note explaining each choice.
- Logo files, brand colours and fonts, or a note that these still need creating.
- Your services or products, ranked by business priority.
- Access details for your domain, hosting, email and analytics, or the account holder's name.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline?
The scope and readiness of your materials shape both the work and how long it takes.
Page templates
Distinct layouts need separate design and build work; pages sharing a template take less effort.
Features
Booking, member logins, calculators or a CRM connection add design, development and testing.
Content
Copy and photos ready to publish keep the scope smaller; adding copywriting, photography or translation increases it.
Brand assets
An existing logo and style guide reduce design work compared with deciding the colours and typefaces during the project.

Questions
Asked by businesses in St. Petersburg
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to get a website built?
There is no fixed price. The work depends on how much content needs gathering, how much page-design feedback is involved and whether you need a separate content editor and custom front end. The latter also adds hosting and maintenance work. We send a free quote once the scope is agreed.
Is website development still worth it?
A website gives you a place to organise your services and make it easier for visitors to find information. Search preparation is part of that work: page titles, descriptions, headings and an XML sitemap belong in the build. Check that a development indexing block is removed before launch.
Can you design the site around our existing brand?
Yes. We build on your existing logo, colours and fonts, and prepare brand assets for the web where needed. During the page-design review, check how those assets appear across desktop and mobile layouts and tell us what needs adjusting before the build begins.
Will we own the website?
Yes. You own the domain, content and code, with no lock-in. Keep the domain and hosting accounts in your business's name and grant access to the people doing the work. That way, you retain control of the accounts as well as the site itself.
What should we manage after launch?
Decide who will update news, projects and job posts, and use the editor to keep them current. In analytics, track form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks as conversions, then check which pages those enquiries started from. That gives you a practical way to review the site's use.
