Choosing
Should you choose WordPress or a custom website?
WordPress suits a team that publishes often and wants to edit most of the site itself. Its plugin selection gives you options for extending the site, but someone needs to keep WordPress and its plugins updated for security. Before choosing it, decide who will publish content and take responsibility for those updates.
A custom-coded site in Next.js suits a business that wants fast pages, tight security and a design without template limits. It also means being comfortable with a developer handling structural changes. Think about the difference between editing the text on a service page and changing how that page is built.
A hosted builder such as Wix, Squarespace or Webflow can suit a small site that you want to run alone. You get less control over code and speed, and moving away later can mean rebuilding. We recommend WordPress or Next.js after learning how your team works and who will maintain the content.
Local
What Clearwater organisations need from their websites
Major employers in the city include Morton Plant Hospital, Tech Data and Honeywell. An organisation handling enquiries needs forms that send messages to the right inbox, with contact options that work on a phone. We set up contact and quote forms, WhatsApp and click-to-call, so your chosen route is available to visitors.
As the county seat of Pinellas County, the city also has local government organisations with information to organise for visitors. A useful project brief identifies who owns the page structure, content editor, forms and launch work. For enquiries, agree who receives each message and what the confirmation says before the site is built.
Rules
What a US website project needs to handle
For businesses open to the public, US Department of Justice guidance says ADA Title III covers goods and services offered on the web and identifies WCAG as helpful guidance. We agree an accessibility target in your brief and design the desktop and mobile pages with that target in view. Bring the target into your design reviews, so your team can assess layouts and content priorities before the build.
How it runs
How a website project runs with us
We are MSH Technologies, a studio in India working remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India is 10h30m ahead of Eastern time in winter and 1 hour less during daylight saving time. The shared board keeps decisions visible between calls.
- 01
Discover
Tell us who buys from you, why they choose you and what visitors should do. We use that to shape the sitemap and agree the scope with you.
- 02
Plan the pages
We prepare wireframes before visual design. Review the content and its order at this stage; colours can wait until the page priorities are settled.
- 03
Build and test
We build with clean code or an editable CMS and test on real devices and browsers. Review the pages on a phone, including the content and contact routes.
- 04
Launch
We set up the domain, email, analytics and Search Console, then walk your team through the handover. Check who will take responsibility for each part afterwards.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
A few decisions and materials will make the discussion more useful.
- Rank the services or products you want the home page and navigation to feature.
- Choose your main goal, such as quote requests or job applications, and who handles each enquiry.
- Bring examples of sites you like and dislike, with a reason for each choice.
- Find the relevant domain, hosting, email and analytics logins, or identify who holds them.
- Gather real photos of your team, premises and finished work.
- Collect case studies, testimonials and client logos you have permission to show.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline of a website?
The scope determines how much design, build and checking work is needed.
Page templates
Distinct layouts take more design and build work than pages sharing the same template.
Features
Booking, calculators, member logins, extra languages and CRM connections add work to design, build and test.
Existing content
Moving news archives, blog posts and downloads involves migration and checks on the new site.
Brand readiness
An existing logo and style guide reduce design work compared with deciding colours and typefaces during the project.

Questions
Asked by businesses in Clearwater
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to have a website built?
There is no fixed price: the scope determines the work. Gathering service descriptions, photos and case studies takes effort, and a custom front end paired with a separate editor adds hosting and maintenance work. Agree the scope before requesting a quote, including who will supply the content.
Can you use our existing brand?
Yes. We build on your existing logo, colours and fonts, and prepare brand assets for the web where needed. Bring the assets you already use to the discussion, so the page designs can work with them and you can review how they appear on the site.
Will I own the website?
Yes. You own the domain, the content and the code. Keep track of who holds the relevant account access and make sure your team knows where the website materials are held, so you can manage those assets after the handover.
What is included in search setup?
A search-ready build includes page titles and descriptions, a clear heading structure, an XML sitemap and structured data. We also plan for fast pages. Check search setup before launch: missing titles, a missing sitemap or an indexing block left on from development can keep a new site out of search results.
What happens after the website launches?
We provide ongoing support after launch. You should also decide who on your team will update news, projects and job posts. Give that person responsibility for keeping the editor current, so visitors do not arrive at a site whose latest post is out of date.
