Choosing
Should you choose WordPress or a custom website?
WordPress is a practical choice when your team publishes often and wants to edit most of the site itself. Its plugins offer a wide choice of functions, but the site needs regular updates for security. A custom-coded site, such as one built in Next.js, suits a design without template limits and gives you control over page speed and security. Structural changes usually need a developer.
For a small site you intend to run alone, a hosted builder such as Squarespace or Webflow is another option. You give up some control over code and speed, and moving later can mean a rebuild. An adapted template suits a simple, tightly defined site when it is reworked around your actual content; a custom design fits more specific brand or audience needs.
A headless setup joins a custom front end to a separate editor, giving you room for frequent editing with more components to host and maintain. We recommend an approach after learning how your team works and who will make changes.
Local
What Sunshine Coast businesses need from a website
Healthcare is a major local employer. If you run a clinic or appointment-based practice, give visitors clear service pages, practitioner profiles and opening hours, with a booking or call option that works on a phone. Someone choosing a practitioner needs to find those details before getting in touch.
Professional business services are part of the local economy. For a law, accounting or consulting practice, separate pages for services and partners give prospective clients somewhere to check expertise and credentials before they call.
Tourism operators also serve visitors to the region. A clear route from the information a visitor needs to a contact or quote form helps them make an enquiry, while routing the form to the right inbox gives your team a practical way to respond.
Rules
Accessibility for a website in Australia
Australian guidance on equal access to digital goods and services recommends WCAG 2.2 at a minimum of Level AA. We set the accessibility target in your project brief and use it to guide the page designs and build review. Agreeing the target at the start gives your team and ours a shared basis for reviewing the work before launch, including the desktop and mobile pages you will be asked to approve.
How it runs
How a website project runs with us
We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India is 4h30m behind Brisbane, and Queensland does not change its clocks. We use the shared board to keep feedback and project work visible across that difference.
- 01
Discover
We learn about your business, audience and goals, then agree the scope with you. Tell us who buys from you, why they choose you and what you want visitors to do; those answers shape the sitemap.
- 02
Design
We prepare the sitemap, wireframes and page designs for desktop and mobile. You review them and give feedback while the layouts are still being refined.
- 03
Build
We develop the site in code or with a content management system your team can edit, and test it on real devices and browsers.
- 04
Check
You proofread each page, submit each form and confirm who receives its messages. This gives your team a chance to catch small errors before visitors see them.
- 05
Launch
We set up the domain, email, analytics and Search Console, then walk your team through the handover.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Gather what you have so we can discuss the work with your priorities in view.
- List your services or products in order of importance to the business.
- Bring logo files, colours and fonts, or note which still need creating.
- Choose a few sites you like and dislike, with a reason for each.
- Collect real photos of your team, premises and finished work.
- Find the logins for your domain, hosting, email and search accounts, or identify who holds them.
- Decide your main goal and who handles each kind of enquiry.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline?
The scope determines how much design, build and checking work is needed.
Features
Booking, calculators, member logins, multiple languages or a CRM connection add design, development and testing work.
Content
Copy and photos ready to publish keep the scope smaller; copywriting, photography or translation add to it.
Migration
Moving old blog posts, news archives and downloadable files adds transfer and checking work.
Brand
An existing logo and style guide reduce design work compared with deciding the logo, colours and typefaces during the project.

Questions
Asked by businesses in Sunshine Coast
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to have a website built?
There is no fixed price. The sitemap and number of page structures affect the scope, as does the work needed to gather service descriptions, team bios, case studies and photos. Decide who will supply and write the content early. Once the scope is agreed, we can prepare a quote for the work.
Is a website still worth investing in?
It gives you a way to measure enquiries from your site. In analytics, you can track form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks as conversions and check which pages visitors started from. That gives you a more useful basis for reviewing the site than looking at its appearance alone.
Can you use our existing brand?
Yes. We can build on your existing logo, colours and fonts, and prepare brand assets for use on the web where needed. Share the files and the details your team already uses, so the website design can work from those materials instead of starting with an unrelated visual direction.
Will we own the website?
Yes. You own the domain, content and code. Your business should also hold the domain and hosting accounts and grant access to the people working on the site. That keeps the accounts in your control when you need someone to make changes or work on them.
Who updates the site after launch?
Your team can update it using the content editor. We provide an editor for pages, news, projects and careers that your team can use without training. Decide who will keep those sections current after launch, so new projects and job posts have a clear owner.
