Choosing
Should you choose WordPress or a custom website?
WordPress suits a team that publishes often and wants to edit most of the site itself. Its choice of plugins gives you ways to extend the site, though those plugins and the platform need regular updates to stay secure. Before choosing it, decide who will make those updates and how frequently your content will change.
A custom Next.js site suits a brief that needs more control over the design and build. It is faster and more secure, and it can still have an editor for your team. Custom design is useful when your brand, content or audience calls for something specific; an adapted template can fit a simpler brief if it is reworked around your real content.
Your existing brand is a useful starting point. We build on your logo, colours and fonts and prepare assets for the web where needed. We recommend a platform after understanding how your team works, including the content you expect to edit yourselves.
Local
What Bradford organisations need from a website
Manufacturing and financial industries contribute to Bradford's economy, but their visitors need different routes through a site. A manufacturer can use capability or product pages, certifications and downloadable specifications to help buyers assess its work. A financial services firm can give each service and partner a page, so visitors can check expertise and credentials before making contact.
Bradford also has a science and media museum, a theatre and an art gallery. For an organisation presenting attractions or activities, the page structure should help visitors understand what is available and what to do next. Agree who owns each part of the site, including the content editor, forms and search setup, before the build starts.
Rules
What a UK website needs to handle
If you run a UK limited company, your website must show its registered number, registered office address, place of registration and limited company status. We include space for those details in the site build, so you can supply and check them before launch.
Website service providers must make reasonable adjustments for disabled people. We agree an accessibility target in your brief and build it into the page designs. WCAG offers A, AA and AAA levels; the W3C encourages use of the latest version.
How it runs
How the project runs with us
We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India time is 5h30m ahead of the UK, or 4h30m ahead during British Summer Time. The shared board keeps feedback and decisions visible between calls, so work can continue across the time difference.
- 01
Discover
Tell us about your business, audience and goals. We agree the scope with you before moving into design.
- 02
Plan
We make wireframes before visual design. You review what belongs on each page and its order, leaving colour choices for later.
- 03
Design
We produce the sitemap and page designs for desktop and mobile, then refine them using your feedback.
- 04
Build and check
We develop the site in Next.js or WordPress. Before launch, you proofread each page, submit each form and confirm who receives its messages.
- 05
Launch
We set up the domain, email, analytics and Search Console, then walk your team through the site.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Gather what you have, and make a note of anything still to be created or located.
- Your logo in SVG, AI or EPS format, plus brand colours and fonts.
- A goal for the site, such as quote requests or job applications, and who handles each enquiry.
- Photos of your team, premises and finished work; book photography ahead if you need it.
- Sites you like and dislike, with a short reason for each choice.
- Case studies, testimonials and client logos you have permission to show, collected in one folder.
- Access details for your domain, hosting, email and analytics, or the name of the person who holds them.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline
The work grows or shrinks with what is ready and how the site is built.
Content readiness
Copy and photos ready to publish keep the scope smaller; adding copywriting, photography or translation makes it bigger.
Brand readiness
An existing logo and style guide save design work compared with deciding the logo, colours and typefaces during the project.
Editing setup
A separate content editor with a custom front end suits heavy editing, but adds parts to host and maintain.
Real page content
Designing with actual headings and paragraphs avoids layouts that need reworking when placeholder text is replaced.

Questions
Asked by businesses in Bradford
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to have a website built?
There is no fixed price for every site. Features such as booking, member logins or a CRM connection add design, build and testing work. Moving blog posts, news archives and downloadable files from an old site also adds migration and checking. Agree the scope with us before requesting a quote.
Should I use a website builder or hire a developer?
A hosted builder can suit a small site you want to run alone. Wix, Squarespace and Webflow give you that option, with less control over code and speed. Moving away later can mean a rebuild. Choose with the long-term editing and ownership arrangements in mind, as well as the initial setup.
What is included in the website build?
The build includes an editor, search-ready pages and a handover. Your team can use the editor for pages, news, projects and careers without training. We also provide a walkthrough at launch, so the people responsible for the site can see how it is set up.
Will I own my website?
Yes. You own your domain, content and code, with no lock-in. Keep the domain and hosting accounts in your business's name and grant access to the people working on the site. That way, you retain control of the accounts when you change who maintains it.
What happens after the site goes live?
We offer ongoing support after launch. Your team should also decide who will update news, projects and job posts so the site stays current. In analytics, track form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks as conversions, and check which pages those enquiries started from.
