Choosing
Should you choose cross-platform, native or a web app?
React Native is our usual choice. It shares a codebase across iOS and Android, and suits apps centred on accounts, forms, lists, bookings, maps, payments or content. Where a feature needs closer access to a device, we use a native module. This keeps much of the build shared while leaving room for platform-specific work.
A fully native build uses Swift for iPhone and Kotlin for Android. It fits heavy graphics, complex background work or deep device features, but leaves you with separate codebases to build and maintain. Flutter is another cross-platform option; it uses Dart and draws its own interface, which suits a custom design intended to look the same on both platforms.
A progressive web app is worth considering for a staff tool. It skips store review, though it will not appear in app stores unless packaged for them. On iPhone, it can ask to send notifications only after someone adds it to their Home Screen, so check that restriction against how your staff will use it.
Local
What Tamil Nadu businesses need from an app
Tamil Nadu has healthcare businesses alongside software, hardware, textile and financial services. For a clinic, an app can bring booking, reminders and payments into the same customer flow, while giving staff a view of the day's schedule. That staff view needs attention during design: the people managing appointments need to see their work as well as the customer sees the booking screen.
Agriculture also supports rural employment in Tamil Nadu. An inspection team working on agricultural jobs could use forms that capture photos, signatures and location, with records synced back to the office when signal returns. Plan that flow around what staff must record on each job and what the office needs to receive afterwards.
Rules
How payments affect an app in India
UPI supports payments from people to merchants in India. For physical goods or services, we set up a payment gateway that supports the checkout you need, including UPI where appropriate. Digital goods and subscriptions sold inside an app have different store billing requirements: Google Play billing is required for those purchases and must not be used for physical goods or services. We set up the purchase flow around what you sell.
How it runs
How a mobile app development project runs with us
We are a studio in India working remotely with clients in other cities and countries. At MSH Technologies, we use video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards to discuss the work and keep it visible.
- 01
Discover
We learn about your business, audience and goals, then agree the scope with you. Bring the task you want people to complete and the people who will use the app.
- 02
Design
We prepare screens for iOS and Android and refine them with your feedback before writing code. You can review how each screen leads into the next.
- 03
Prototype review
Put the clickable prototype in front of a few customers or staff. Their feedback lets us change screens before they are built, when changes take less rework.
- 04
Test builds
You try development builds on your own phone through TestFlight on iPhone or a Google Play testing track. Feedback can come from using the app itself.
- 05
Store release
We handle listings, submission and review under your developer accounts. You retain control of the accounts used to publish the app.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Gather these details so we can discuss the build and its route to release.
- Developer accountsRegister Apple and Google accounts in your company's name.
- Business verificationStart getting a D-U-N-S number for organisation accounts early.
- Existing systemsList the website, CRM, booking or ERP software and payment provider the app must work with.
- AccessNote which systems have an API and who holds their admin access.
- Privacy policyHave a policy that matches the data the app collects, ready for the app and its Apple store listing.
- Google Play testingCheck the closed-test requirement if you plan to use a new personal developer account.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline of mobile app development
The work changes with the systems and features the app needs.
Backend
A documented existing API reduces the work; a new backend and admin panel add a substantial build.
Design and languages
Custom animation, additional languages, right-to-left scripts and tablet layouts add design and testing across screens.
Offline work
Showing last-loaded data takes less work than creating and editing records offline, then syncing changes and resolving conflicts.
User content
Posts or other user-generated material need filtering, reporting, user blocking and published contact details for Apple's requirements.
Avoid
Mistakes to avoid with mobile app development
Wrapping a website
Apple expects an app to offer more than a repackaged site. Define a useful app experience before treating the existing website as the whole product.
Demanding sign-up too early
Let people use an app without logging in when it has no significant account-based features. That gives them a chance to see its value first.
Forgetting third-party data collection
When adding an analytics or advertising SDK, update the Google Play Data safety answers to cover the data it collects.
Questions

Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to have an app developed?
There is no fixed price. The scope depends on the user types and the screens and permissions each needs. For example, customers, drivers and staff each need their own flows. A shared backend can serve your app, website and admin tools, so it is worth establishing what those systems need to do together.
Which company should I choose for app development?
Choose a team whose working process you can inspect. Ask who will design and build the app, and how you will speak to them during the project. We handle design, development and launch with the same team, and you talk directly to the people doing the design and build.
Are push notifications included in the app?
We build push notifications as part of the service. They need a sending service such as Firebase Cloud Messaging, rules for who receives each message and when, and settings inside the app. Those settings let people switch off categories they do not want, so decide which messages are genuinely useful.
Will I own the app and its accounts?
You own your code, content and domain without lock-in. Keep the developer accounts, signing access and code repository in your business's name too. That gives you control of the assets needed to publish and maintain the app, and makes it easier to move the work later.
What support does an app need after launch?
Plan for bug fixes, operating system updates and new features after release. We provide ongoing support for that work. Google Play also requires apps and updates to target a recent Android API level; an outdated app can become unavailable to new users on newer devices, so maintenance releases need a place in your plans.
Can people delete an account they create in the app?
Yes. If your app allows account creation, include an in-app route to start deletion. Apple does not accept deactivation alone. Google Play also requires a path to delete the account and associated data, plus a web link where people can request deletion. Include those screens and the web request route in the scope.
