What you get

What’s included in mobile app development

  • App design

Screens and flows designed for iOS and Android conventions.

  • Cross-platform build

One React Native codebase for both platforms, with native modules where needed.

  • Backend & APIs

Accounts, data, notifications and admin tools behind the app.

  • Push notifications

Timely, targeted notifications that bring people back.

  • Payments & subscriptions

In-app purchases and subscriptions on both stores.

  • Store launch

App Store and Google Play listings, submission and release.

Tools we use: React Native, Expo, Swift, Kotlin, Firebase, Node.js.

Choosing

Should you build a cross-platform, native or web app?

For most apps, we use React Native: a shared codebase for iOS and Android, with native modules where a feature needs them. This keeps the platforms together while leaving room for device-specific work. We help you choose the approach by looking at the device features your app needs.

A native build uses Swift for iPhone and Kotlin for Android. It suits an app that depends on deep device features, heavy graphics, complex background work or a new platform feature at launch. The trade-off is maintaining separate codebases, so changes need attention on each platform.

A progressive web app is another option, especially for a staff tool. It skips store review, but it will not appear in app stores unless packaged for them. On iPhone, it can ask to send notifications only after the user adds it to the Home Screen. Discuss that limitation early if reminders are central to the tool.

Local

What Sikkim businesses need from an app

Tourism is a major part of Sikkim’s economy. A restaurant serving repeat visitors could use an app for reordering, loyalty and saved payment details, with a quick checkout and notifications sent at useful moments.

For a Sikkim business working with tea, oranges or cardamom, a field app could give staff forms, photos, signatures and a location for each job. If staff need to work without signal, the records need a way to sync back to the office.

Sikkim’s brewing and distilling businesses could use an app to manage customer or staff accounts and data, with an admin panel for looking up customers and handling account issues. Decide who on your team needs access before settling the screens.

Rules

What an app project in India needs to handle

For payments in India, UPI supports person-to-merchant payments. If your payment provider supports it, we set up UPI in the checkout for an applicable purchase. The purchase itself also affects the store setup: digital content and subscriptions used in the app generally need the stores’ in-app billing, while physical goods and services used outside the app need another payment method. We plan the checkout around what you sell.

How it runs

How an app project runs with us

We work remotely from India using video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. You can review the work and give feedback without needing to visit an office.

  1. 01

    Discover

We learn about your business, audience and goals, then agree the scope with you. Bring the problem you want the app to solve and the people who will use it.

  2. 02

    Design

We prepare screens for iOS and Android and refine them with your feedback before writing code. Tell us where the proposed flow does not match how your customers or staff work.

  3. 03

    Try the prototype

Put the clickable design in front of a few customers or staff. Their reactions can reveal a confusing screen while changing it is still cheaper than changing a built screen.

  4. 04

    Test the build

We put test builds on your phone through TestFlight or Google Play testing tracks. Use the app for real tasks and tell us what needs attention.

  5. 05

    Submit

We handle the listings, submission and review under your own developer accounts. You retain the accounts used for the release.

Checklist

What to have ready before we talk

Gather the details that will shape the first discussion and the store setup.

  • List what users must do in the first release, in the order they will do it.
  • Note the website, booking system, payment provider or other software the app must connect to. Record whether each has an API and who holds admin access.
  • Have a privacy policy that matches the data the app collects, ready to link from the app and its listing.
  • If people create accounts, plan an in-app route to start deleting them for Apple’s store.
  • For Google Play, also plan a web link where people can request deletion of their account and associated data.

Cost & time

What affects the cost and timing of app development

The scope changes the amount of design, backend work and testing involved.

  • User roles

Customers, drivers and staff each need their own screens and permissions, even with a shared backend.

  • Existing systems

A backend with a documented API reduces work; a new backend and admin panel add substantial work.

  • Live features

Tracking and chat need persistent connections and more backend work than screens that load data on request.

  • Integrations

A payment gateway, booking system or scanner needs setup, testing and handling for failures.

  • User-generated content

Reporting, filtering, blocking and published contact details need to be built into apps that accept it.

Avoid

Mistakes to avoid with app development

  • Wrapping a website in an app shell

Plan useful app features beyond the existing site, since a repackaged website risks store rejection.

  • Forcing sign-up too early

Let people see what the app offers before asking them to create an account, unless account-based features make login necessary.

  • Asking for notification permission on first launch

Ask when the benefit is clear, such as after an order. Android notifications stay off until the user allows them.

  • Adding analytics late without updating privacy answers

Include data collected by third-party SDKs in Google Play’s Data safety form.

Questions

Asked by businesses in Sikkim

Page updated 5 November 2026

How much does it cost to have an app developed?

There is no fixed price. The work changes with offline editing and syncing, payment or subscription features, and the backend the app needs. Showing previously loaded data offline is a smaller task than letting users edit records without signal and resolving conflicts when those records sync.

How do I choose an app development company?

Ask who will design and build the app and how you will speak to them during the work. We put you in direct contact with the people doing that work, so you can discuss screen decisions and raise questions with the people responsible for building them.

Will a cross-platform app use normal phone interface components?

Yes. React Native renders each platform’s own interface components, while its code is written in JavaScript or TypeScript. Web developers can contribute to that code, and an app built this way can share some logic with a React website. The amount shared depends on the product.

What is included beyond the app screens?

We build backend services for accounts and data, and can connect the app, website and admin tools to the same backend. For notifications, plan who receives each message and when. Users also need in-app settings to switch off notification categories they do not want.

Will I own the app and its store accounts?

You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. We publish under your own developer accounts, including handling the store listings and review. Keep control of those accounts and make sure the people responsible for the app in your business have access to them.

What support does an app need after launch?

Plan for bug fixes, platform updates and new features. Google Play requires apps and updates to target a recent Android API level, so maintenance releases need a place in the plan. Some JavaScript and content fixes can go out over the air; native code changes still need a store release.
