What you get

What’s included in mobile app development

  • App design

Screens and flows designed for iOS and Android conventions.

  • Cross-platform build

One React Native codebase for both platforms, with native modules where needed.

  • Backend & APIs

Accounts, data, notifications and admin tools behind the app.

  • Push notifications

Timely, targeted notifications that bring people back.

  • Payments & subscriptions

In-app purchases and subscriptions on both stores.

  • Store launch

App Store and Google Play listings, submission and release.

Tools we use: React Native, Expo, Swift, Kotlin, Firebase, Node.js.

Choosing

Should you choose cross-platform, native or a web app?

We usually build with React Native, sharing a codebase across iOS and Android while using native modules for features that need them. It uses JavaScript or TypeScript and renders each platform’s own interface components; some logic can also be shared with a React website. That gives your web developers a way to contribute.

Native development fits an app built around deep device features, heavy graphics or complex background work. The trade-off is separate codebases to build and maintain. Flutter is another option: it draws its own interface, which suits heavily branded screens that should look identical across platforms, but calls for a team willing to work in Dart.

A progressive web app can suit a staff tool and skips store review. It does not appear in the stores unless packaged for them, and on iPhone it can request notification permission only after being added to the Home Screen. If a store app is your aim, give people a useful reason to install it: a wrapper around an existing website risks rejection.

What Rotherham businesses need from an app

A glass container manufacturer serving pharmaceutical, food and drinks customers could use an app alongside its website and staff tools. A shared backend keeps customer accounts and data in one place, so the app has access to the same information as the other systems. We build that shared backend for the app, website and admin tools.

Warehousing and distribution work also puts information in the hands of people away from the office. For a delivery team, offline job forms, photos, signatures and location records give staff a way to record work when signal is unavailable and sync it when they reconnect. An admin panel gives office staff a place to look up customers and manage records.

How it runs

How your app project runs with us

We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India is 5h30m ahead of the UK, or 4h30m during British Summer Time, so the shared board keeps feedback and decisions visible across the working day.

    Discover

Tell us about your business, audience and goals. We agree the scope together before moving into design.

  2. 02

    Design

We design the iOS and Android screens and refine them with your feedback before writing code.

  3. 03

    Check the prototype

Put the clickable screens in front of a few customers or staff. Changing a screen now is cheaper than changing it after it has been built.

  4. 04

    Test on your phone

We share development builds through TestFlight on iPhone and Google Play testing tracks, so you can give feedback from real use.

  5. 05

    Submit and release

We handle the store listings, submission and review under your developer accounts. For an app with login, have a working demo account and live backend ready, and leave room for fixes and resubmission.

Checklist

What to have ready before we talk

Bring the following to help us agree the scope.

  • A short list of what users must do in the first release, in the order they will do it.
  • The systems the app must connect to, whether each has an API and who holds admin access.
  • Apple and Google developer accounts in your company’s name. Start early: organisation accounts need a D-U-N-S number.
  • A privacy policy matching the data the app collects, for the store listing and the app itself.
  • Details of analytics or advertising SDKs you plan to use, so the Google Play Data safety answers cover their data collection.

Cost & time

What affects the cost and timeline?

The work changes with the systems, screens and features in your agreed scope.

  • Backend

An existing backend with a documented API reduces work; building a backend and admin panel from scratch adds it.

  • Integrations

Payments, booking systems, maps or hardware each need setup, testing and failure handling.

  • Live features

Tracking, chat and presence need persistent connections and additional backend work.

  • Screen design

Custom animation, additional languages and tablet layouts add design and testing across screens.

  • User content

Posts or other user-generated material need filtering, reporting, blocking and published contact details.

Questions

Asked by businesses in Rotherham

Page updated 5 November 2026

How much does it cost to develop an app?

There is no fixed price: the cost depends on the screens and flows, the platform build, and features such as in-app purchases or subscriptions. A useful first discussion is to separate what users need in the first release from features you might add later, so the scope is clear before a quote.

How do I choose an app development company?

Ask how the company will make the app useful before asking users to create an account or accept notifications. People should be able to see value before sign-up where an account is not central to the app, and a notification request has a clearer purpose after an action such as an order.

What is included in an app build?

We can build a backend shared by your app, website and admin tools, and handle the store listing, submission and release. Account creation also changes the build: Apple requires an in-app deletion path, while Google Play requires that path and a web link for deletion requests.

Will I own the app code?

Yes. You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. Agree how you will receive the code and account access during handover, and keep those details with the person responsible for the app in your business. That gives you a clear record of what you own.

What happens after the app launches?

Plan for maintenance releases and check how people use the app. Analytics and crash reporting show screen use, drop-off and device crashes; retention and crash-free rate help you assess a release. JavaScript and content fixes can sometimes go out over the air, while native changes need a store release.
