Mobile app development company for the United Kingdom
You get an app designed around the tasks your customers or staff need to complete, with screens for iOS and Android, a backend for accounts and data, and targeted push notifications. For your business in the United Kingdom, we start by understanding those tasks and the people using them. We are a studio in India and work with you remotely throughout the project.

Choosing
Should you build a cross-platform, native or web app?
We usually build with React Native, sharing one codebase across iOS and Android while adding native modules where a feature needs them. That gives you a shared foundation to maintain. Native development uses Swift for iPhone and Kotlin for Android, and fits apps built around deep device features, heavy graphics, complex background work or new platform features at launch. The trade-off is maintaining separate codebases.
Flutter is another cross-platform option. It uses Dart and draws its own interface, so screens can look identical across platforms. It suits a heavily branded, custom-designed interface when you are prepared to work in Dart. Think about who will maintain the app as well as how you want its screens to look.
A progressive web app can suit a staff tool and avoids store review. It does not appear in app stores unless packaged for them, though, and on an iPhone it can ask to send notifications only after being added to the Home Screen. That changes how you introduce the tool to staff and how you use reminders.
Market
What do app buyers in the United Kingdom need to plan for?
Payment design starts with what you sell. Apple requires in-app purchase for digital content, features and subscriptions used in the app; Google Play requires its billing system for digital goods and subscriptions sold in the app. Physical goods and services used outside the app need another payment route. We set up payments and subscriptions for the stores, with the checkout route matched to what you offer.
Welsh has official status in Wales. If your audience needs Welsh screens alongside English, include both in the screen designs and testing plan from the outset. Each language adds work across the interface, so identify the screens and content that need to be available in each language.
Rules
What does a mobile app project in the United Kingdom have to handle?
UK data protection rules apply to personal data, so decide what account information the app needs to hold and who needs to use it. We can set up a shared backend for the app, website and admin tools, keeping customer accounts and data in one place. If people can create an account, we also provide a way to start deleting it inside the app, as Apple requires. Include that account flow in the screen designs and in your release checks.
How it runs
How a mobile app development project runs with us
We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. IST is 5h30m ahead, or 4h30m during British Summer Time, so shared boards give you a place to review work and leave feedback across the time difference.
- 01
Discover
We learn about your business, audience and goals, then agree the scope with you. Bring the task you want the app to help people complete.
- 02
Design
We design screens for iOS and Android and refine them with your feedback before writing code. Check the flow as well as the appearance.
- 03
Test the prototype
Put the clickable design in front of a few customers or staff. Their feedback can reveal a confusing screen while it is still cheaper to change.
- 04
Build
We build the shared app codebase, adding native modules where a feature needs them. Agree the required device features during scope so the build accounts for them.
- 05
Submit
We handle store listings, submission and review under your own developer accounts. You keep those accounts in your business's name.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Bring the information that helps us understand the first release and prepare for store submission.
- Task listWrite down what users must do in the first release, in the order they will do it.
- Developer accountsRegister Apple and Google accounts in the company's name. Organisation accounts need a D-U-N-S number for verification.
- Testing groupA new personal Google Play developer account needs a closed test before production release, so identify people who can take part.
- Privacy policyHave a policy that matches the data the app collects; Apple requires links in the listing and inside the app.
- Demo accessIf the app has a login, prepare a working demo account and live backend for Apple's review. Leave room for a fix and resubmission.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and time of mobile app development?
The work grows with the flows, systems and checks needed for your release.
User roles
Customers, drivers and staff each need their own screens and permissions, even when they share a backend.
Existing systems
A documented backend API reduces the work; building a backend and admin panel from scratch adds substantial scope.
Integrations
A payment gateway, booking system or scanner adds setup, testing and ways to handle failures.
User content
Posts or other user-generated material need filtering, reporting, user blocking and published contact details for Apple.
Avoid
Mistakes to avoid with mobile app development
Wrapping a website in an app shell
Apple expects an app to offer more than a repackaged site. Define the tasks and features that give people a reason to install it.
Putting login in front of everything
Let people use the app without signing in when its features do not require an account. Apple's guidelines ask for this approach where account-based features are not significant.
Adding an analytics or advertising SDK late
Check the data it collects and update Google Play's Data safety answers to cover third-party SDKs in the app.
Questions
Asked by businesses in United Kingdom
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to have an app developed?
There is no fixed price. The scope depends heavily on the app screens, the backend and the admin tools your staff need, as well as the level of offline use. Showing last-loaded data without signal is modest work; creating and editing records offline with later syncing and conflict handling is a larger piece of work.
How do I choose a mobile app development company?
Look for a team that can explain its technical recommendation against the features you need and gives you access to the people doing the work. You talk directly to our designers and developers. We usually recommend a shared React Native codebase, while deep device features can make native development the better fit.
What should my app include?
Start with the tasks your customers or staff need to complete. A shop or restaurant serving repeat customers might need reordering, loyalty, saved payment details and a fast checkout. An appointment business might instead need booking, reminders, payments and a staff view of the day's schedule.
Who owns the app code and developer accounts?
You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. Keep the developer accounts, signing access and code repositories in your business's name as well. Accounts or repositories held in an agency's or freelancer's name can make the app difficult to move later.
What support does an app need after launch?
Plan for bug fixes, updates for new iOS and Android versions, and new features. Some JavaScript and content fixes can go out through an over-the-air tool such as Expo EAS Update without a store build. Native code changes, new permissions and Expo SDK upgrades still need a store release.
How do I tell whether people are using the app?
Include analytics and crash reporting in the first release, then look at the screens people use, where they leave the main task and which devices crash. Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics and Sentry are examples of tools for this. Track returning users and the crash-free rate alongside downloads.
