Choosing
Should you build a cross-platform app or go native?
Cross-platform development suits many apps built around accounts, forms, bookings, payments and content. We usually use React Native, sharing a codebase across iOS and Android while using native modules where a feature needs them. It uses JavaScript or TypeScript and renders each platform’s interface components, so web developers can contribute and some logic can be shared with a React website.
Flutter is another cross-platform option. It uses Dart and draws its own interface, which suits a custom-designed app that needs screens to look identical on both platforms. Your team would need to be comfortable working in Dart. We go native when the app needs deep device features that call for that approach.
A progressive web app is another option for a staff tool and skips store review. It will not appear in the app stores unless packaged for them, and on iPhone it can request notification permission only after someone adds it to the Home Screen. We help you choose an approach around the features and distribution your app needs.
Local
What Omaha businesses need from an app
Omaha’s economy includes construction and transportation. For teams carrying out work away from the office, an app can put job forms, photos, signatures and location details on a phone, then sync them when signal returns. Staff also need a way to manage the work behind those screens. An admin panel gives them a place to edit content and look up customers without calling a developer.
Retail is part of the economy around Omaha’s Old Market. A shop serving repeat customers could use an app for reordering, loyalty and saved payment details, with a fast checkout and notifications sent at a useful point in the order. The customer flow needs to make the repeat purchase straightforward on a phone.
Rules
What payments need to handle in the United States
Your checkout depends on what you sell. Apple requires in-app purchase for digital content, features and subscriptions used in the app; physical goods and services used outside it need another payment method. We set up in-app purchases and subscriptions for both stores, and plan a card gateway where the purchase calls for one. Stripe lists the United States among the countries where businesses can sign up to accept payments.
How it runs
How an app project runs with us
We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. In winter, India is 10h30m to 13h30m ahead of the mainland United States, so we use the shared board to keep decisions and feedback available across the time difference.
- 01
Discover
We learn about your business, audience and goals, then agree the scope with you. Bring the main task you want people to complete in the app.
- 02
Design
We design the iOS and Android screens and refine them with your feedback before writing code. You can review the flow while changes are still on the screen.
- 03
Check the prototype
Put the clickable design in front of a few customers or staff. Changing a screen at this stage costs less than changing it after the build.
- 04
Test the build
We send test builds to your phone through TestFlight on iPhone or Google Play’s internal or closed testing tracks. You can give feedback from actual use.
- 05
Release
We handle the store listings, submission and review under your own developer accounts. You keep the accounts in your business’s name.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
A few practical details will help you describe the first release and the systems it needs to connect.
- List the tasks users must complete, in the order they would do them.
- Note your website, CRM, booking software and payment provider, their APIs and who holds admin access.
- Start the developer account registration and check the D-U-N-S number needed for organisation verification.
- If using a new personal Google Play account, plan for a closed test with at least 12 opted-in testers before production release.
- Plan to keep the code repository and signing access in your business’s name, so the app is easier to move later.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timing of app development
The scope determines how much design, backend work and testing the app needs.
User roles
Customers, drivers and staff each need their own screens and permissions, even when they share a backend.
Live features
Tracking, chat and presence need persistent connections and more backend work than screens that load data on request.
Integrations
A payment gateway, CRM or booking system adds setup, testing and work to handle failures.
Screen variations
Custom animation, extra languages and tablet layouts add design and testing across the affected screens.

Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to develop an app?
There is no fixed price. Offline editing and later syncing add more work than showing the last loaded data, while user-generated content needs moderation tools. For the latter, Apple requires filtering, reporting, user blocking and published contact details. Agree the scope before requesting a quote.
How should I choose an app development company?
Choose a developer who can explain what the app will let people do and how it will meet store requirements. Apple asks apps without significant account-based features to let people use them without logging in. It also expects more than a repackaged website, so ask what will give customers a reason to install the app.
Can our app share data with our website?
Yes. We can build one backend for your app, website and admin tools. Customer accounts and data then live in one place. This is useful when people already use your web platform frequently and you want the app to work with their existing accounts and data.
What should we measure after launch?
Measure whether people return and where they drop out of the main task, as well as the crash-free rate. Analytics and crash reporting belong in the first release. Tools such as Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics or Sentry show which screens people use and which devices crash.
Who handles app updates after launch?
We provide ongoing support for bug fixes, operating-system updates and new features. Some JavaScript and content fixes can be delivered with an over-the-air tool such as Expo EAS Update. Native code changes, new permissions and Expo SDK upgrades still need a store release.
