Choosing
Should you choose WordPress or a custom website?
WordPress suits a team that expects to edit content often. A custom Next.js site gives you fast pages, tight security and freedom from template limits; it can still include an editor, although a developer would typically handle structural changes. We recommend an approach after learning how your team works and who will keep the site current.
A custom design is useful when your brand, content or audience needs a particular treatment. An adapted template can fit a simple site with a tight brief, provided the layout is reworked around your real content. For a small site you want to run alone, a hosted builder such as Wix, Squarespace or Webflow is another option. The trade-off is less control over code and speed, and moving away later can mean rebuilding.
There is also a headless setup: a custom front end connected to a separate editor. It suits a site that needs speed alongside substantial editing, but gives you more moving parts to host and maintain. Decide who will update the site before settling on a platform.
Local
What Omaha businesses need from a website
Omaha’s economy includes banking, insurance, architecture and construction. For an architecture or construction firm, a project portfolio gives prospective clients a way to judge the work: include useful project details alongside photographs. Make those projects easy to find from the relevant service pages, so a visitor can move from what you offer to examples of what you have done.
Retail is part of the Old Market’s economy. A retailer there needs a clear route for a visitor to get in touch, especially on a phone. We set up contact and quote forms to reach the right inbox, with WhatsApp and click-to-call where they suit the business. Agree who receives each enquiry and what the confirmation message says.
Rules
What a United States website project needs to handle
For a business open to the public, US guidance says the ADA covers goods and services offered on the web and identifies WCAG as helpful guidance. In the brief, we agree an accessibility target, such as WCAG Level AA, and set up the sitemap, wireframes and desktop and mobile page designs around that target. This gives the build a clear standard to work towards from the outset.
How it runs
How a website project runs with us
We work remotely through video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India is 10h30m (Eastern) to 13h30m (Pacific) ahead of the mainland US in winter, and 1 hour less during daylight saving time. The shared board keeps feedback and decisions available across that difference.
- 01
Discover
tell us who buys from you, why they choose you and what you want visitors to do. We use those answers to shape the sitemap.
- 02
Plan the pages
we prepare wireframes. Review the content and its order at this stage; colours come later.
- 03
Design
we refine desktop and mobile page designs with your feedback before code begins. You can check the direction while changes are still part of the design work.
- 04
Build
we develop the site in clean code or with a CMS your team can edit, then test it on real devices and browsers.
- 05
Check
proofread each page, submit every form and confirm who receives its messages before launch.
- 06
Launch
we set up the domain, email, analytics and Search Console, then walk your team through the setup.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Bring what you have, and note anything still to be gathered.
- Your logo in SVG, AI or EPS, plus brand colours and fonts.
- A ranked list of the services or products you most want to feature.
- The goal for the site, such as quote requests, calls or job applications.
- The person responsible for handling each type of enquiry.
- A folder of case studies, permitted client logos, testimonials or certifications.
- Logins for the domain, hosting, email, analytics and Search Console, or the name of the person who holds them.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline
The work involved changes with the material and decisions available at the start.
Brand readiness
an existing logo and style guide reduce design work compared with deciding the colours, typefaces and logo during the project.
Search setup
page titles, descriptions, heading structure, an XML sitemap and structured data take less effort to address during the build than as later fixes.
Page content
designing around placeholder text risks layouts breaking when the real headings and paragraphs arrive.
Photography
real images of your team, premises and finished work need gathering; a photo shoot needs booking ahead.

Questions
Asked by businesses in Omaha
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to have a website built?
There is no fixed price: the scope drives the work. Distinct page templates, content moved from an old site and features such as booking or a CRM connection all add different amounts of design, build and checking work. Agree the scope before requesting a quote so it reflects what you need.
Can you work with our existing brand?
Yes. We can build on your existing logo, colours and fonts, and prepare brand assets for the web where needed. Share the materials you already use when discussing the site, so the page designs can follow the visual identity your business has established.
Will our team be able to update the website?
Yes. We provide a content editor your team can use without training. It covers pages as well as news, projects and careers, so discuss which of those sections you expect to maintain when you plan the site and decide who will take responsibility for updates.
Who owns the website after launch?
You own the domain, content and code, with no lock-in. That gives you control over those assets after the site is handed over. Make sure the people responsible for your website know where the domain and code are held and who has access to them.
What should we look after once the site is live?
Keep its content current and measure the enquiries it generates. Decide who will update news, project and job posts, then track form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks as conversions in analytics. Check which pages those enquiries started from to understand how visitors reach you.
