Choosing
Should you build a cross-platform app or go native?
For an app centred on accounts, forms, bookings, payments or content, a cross-platform build is a practical place to start. We usually use React Native: it shares a codebase across iOS and Android, with native modules when a feature needs them. If your app needs deep device features, we go native. That choice gives the project access to those features, with a different build approach for each platform.
React Native uses JavaScript or TypeScript and renders each platform’s own interface components. Your web developers can contribute, and some logic can be shared with a React website. Flutter uses Dart and draws its own interface; it is an option for a heavily branded app where you want screens to look identical across platforms and your team is prepared to work in Dart.
A progressive web app is another option for a staff tool. It skips store review, but it will not appear in the app stores unless packaged for them. On an iPhone, it can ask for notification permission only after the user adds it to the Home Screen.
Local
What Fort Worth organisations need from an app
Fort Worth is home to American Airlines and BNSF Railway. For an airline or rail organisation managing field work, the useful app screens start with the job: forms, photos, signatures and location, then a way to sync the records to the office when signal returns. Decide how much offline work staff need. Showing previously loaded information takes less work than letting people edit records offline and resolving conflicts when they reconnect.
Universities in the city include Texas Christian University and Texas Wesleyan University. When an organisation already has a web platform that people use frequently, an app can reuse its accounts and data. We build a shared backend for the app, website and admin tools, so the team has one place to manage that information.
Rules
What a US app project has to handle
For a US state or local government app, WCAG 2.1 Level AA shapes the screen design. We design the iOS and Android screens against that standard and check them during testing, so accessibility is part of the build from the start.
Account deletion also needs a place in the build. For apps that allow account creation, we set up an in-app deletion path and a web link for deletion requests; Apple requires users to be able to start deleting their account inside the app, while Google Play also requires a path to delete associated data.
How it runs
How an app project runs with us
We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India is 10h30m (Eastern) to 13h30m (Pacific) ahead of the mainland US in winter, and 1 hour less ahead during daylight saving time. The shared board gives you a place to leave feedback for the build team across that difference.

- Privacy policyhave one that matches the data the app collects, ready to link inside the app and on its store listing.
- Login accessprepare a working demo account and live backend for an app submitted with a login.
- Testersif you use a new personal Google Play developer account, prepare for the required closed test before production release.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and work involved
The scope of the screens and the systems behind them shapes the work.
User roles
customers, drivers and staff each need their own screens and permissions, even with a shared backend.
Real-time features
live tracking and chat need persistent connections and more backend work than screens that load data on request.
Interface design
custom animation, additional languages and tablet layouts add design and testing across screens.
Existing systems
a documented backend API reduces build work; a new backend and admin panel can be a substantial part of the project.
User content
posts and other contributions need filtering, reporting, blocking and published contact details.
Questions
Asked by businesses in Fort Worth
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to have an app developed?
The cost depends on the agreed scope. Notifications need a sending service, audience rules and settings for people to switch categories off. Payments and subscriptions also add work across the stores. Bring those requirements to the scope discussion so the quote reflects what you need built.
How do I choose an app development company?
Look at how the team takes a product from design through launch, and ask how you will review the work. We handle design, development and launch with the same team. Also examine the proposed app itself: Apple expects more than a website repackaged in an app shell.
What should be included in the first release?
Include analytics and crash reporting alongside the screens people need for their main task. Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics or Sentry show screen use, drop-off and device crashes. For notifications, ask permission when the benefit is clear, such as after an order, instead of asking at first launch.
Who owns the app and its accounts?
You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. Keep the developer accounts, signing access and code repository in your business’s name as well. Accounts held by an agency or freelancer make the app harder to move if you decide to change who works on it.
What support does the app need after launch?
We provide ongoing support for bug fixes, operating system updates and new features. Plan maintenance releases for Android requirements too. After release, look at how many people return, where they leave the main task and the crash-free rate; those measures give you useful signals for the next update.
