Choosing
Should you choose cross-platform or native development?
For an app built around bookings, accounts, forms, payments or content, a cross-platform build is a practical starting point. We usually use React Native, with one codebase for iOS and Android and native modules where a feature needs them. That shared code gives you less platform-specific work to maintain than a separate build for each platform.
A native build suits an app that depends on deep device features, heavy graphics, complex background work or new platform features at launch. Swift is used for iPhone and Kotlin for Android. The trade-off is maintaining a separate codebase for each platform, so the choice should follow what the app actually needs to do.
What you sell also affects the build. Apple and Google have different payment requirements for digital content and subscriptions used in an app, while physical goods and services need a different checkout route. We account for those store requirements when setting up purchases, as well as the platform features your screens need.
Local
What Dallas organisations need from an app
Dallas has transportation and technology businesses whose staff and customers use information in different places. A delivery or inspection team, for example, needs job forms with photos, signatures and location details that work without a signal and sync back to the office when a connection returns. That gives staff a way to record the job while they are still on site.
The metropolitan area's colleges and universities may already have web platforms used frequently by their communities. An app for an existing platform needs a clear connection to the accounts and data people already use, so a person does not have to start again with a separate account. Reusing the backend also gives the app a shared source of information with the website.
Rules
What a US mobile app project has to handle
For a state or local government app, the US accessibility rule requires mobile apps to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. That changes the screen design and the checks needed before release. We set up the app's screens and flows against that standard, then check the interface as part of the build. If your project is for a public organisation, bring that requirement into the scope from the start so it is addressed across the app.
How it runs
How a mobile app project runs with us
We are an India-based web, app and AI studio. India is ahead of the US, and the gap changes with daylight saving time. We work remotely through video calls, WhatsApp and a shared project board, so you have places to give feedback and track decisions across the time difference.
- 01
Discover
Tell us about your business, audience and goals. We use those discussions to agree the scope with you before the build starts.
- 02
Design
Put the clickable prototype in front of a few customers or staff. Their feedback helps us change screens while changes are less costly than they are after building.
- 03
Test
Try builds on your own phone through TestFlight on iPhone or a Google Play testing track. Tell us where the real experience differs from what you expected.
- 04
Prepare submission
If the app has a login, provide a working demo account and keep the backend live for review. Leave room to fix and resubmit a rejected build.
- 05
Launch
We handle the store listings, submission and review under your developer accounts. You retain control of those accounts.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Bring what you already have; the following details help us agree a useful scope.
- List the tasks people must complete in the first release, in the order they will do them.
- Note the website, CRM, booking or payment systems involved, whether they have APIs, and who has admin access.
- Start registering company developer accounts; organisation verification needs a D-U-N-S number.
- Check if a new personal Google Play account will need a closed test before production release.
- If users can create accounts, plan an in-app deletion path and a web deletion-request link for Google Play.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timing of an app?
The work changes with the systems, screens and interactions your app needs.
Backend
A documented existing API saves work; a new backend and admin panel need their own build.
Integrations
Payment gateways, maps, booking systems and hardware each need setup, testing and failure handling.
Live features
Tracking and chat need persistent connections and more backend work than screens that request data.
Screen design
Custom animation, extra languages and tablet layouts add design and testing across screens.
User content
Posts need moderation features, including reporting, blocking and filtering objectionable material.
Avoid
Mistakes to avoid with mobile app development
Wrapping a website in an app shell
Give people a useful app experience; a repackaged site risks store rejection.
Demanding sign-up too early
Let people see value first when significant account-based features are absent.
Requesting notification permission on first launch
Ask when the benefit is clear, such as after an order.
Offering only account deactivation
If people can create an account, let them start deleting it inside the iPhone app.
Questions
Asked by businesses in Dallas
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to develop an app?
There is no fixed price. The main drivers include the backend and staff admin tools, the purchasing features you need, and the analytics and crash reporting included in the release. We send a free quote once the scope is agreed, so you can see the work included before deciding how to proceed.
Which company should you choose for app development?
Choose a company that can explain its technical decisions and show how it will handle store requirements. Ask how third-party analytics or advertising tools will be reflected in Google Play's Data safety answers. Also ask who will maintain the app: React Native uses JavaScript or TypeScript, so web developers can contribute.
What is included in push notifications?
We set up the notification service and the rules for who receives each message and when. A service such as Firebase Cloud Messaging handles delivery, while in-app settings let people switch off categories they do not want. Agree those categories with us alongside the messages you intend to send.
Will you own the app code?
Yes. You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. When you discuss the project with us, include ownership in your plans for maintenance and future changes. Having control of those assets gives you a clear basis for deciding who works on the product after launch.
What support is available after launch?
Ongoing support covers bug fixes, operating-system updates and new features. Some JavaScript and content fixes can be delivered over the air with tools such as Expo EAS Update. Changes to native code, new permissions and Expo SDK upgrades still need a store release, so those updates need a different route.
Can the app share data with your website?
Yes. We can build a shared backend for your app, website and admin tools, keeping customer accounts and data in one place. Tell us which information your staff need to manage and which parts customers should use on each platform, so we can include those connections in the agreed scope.
