Should you choose a cross-platform, native or web app?
For most apps, we recommend React Native. We build a shared codebase for iOS and Android and use native modules where needed. React Native renders each platform’s own interface components, and some logic can be shared with a React website. That gives you a common foundation while retaining platform-specific screens.
A native build suits deep device features, heavy graphics, complex background work or access to new platform features at launch. We choose it when those needs justify the extra work of maintaining separate iPhone and Android codebases. Flutter is another cross-platform option: it draws its own interface and suits heavily branded screens, provided your team is willing to work in Dart.
A progressive web app can suit a staff tool and avoids store review. It will not appear in the app stores unless packaged for them, and on an iPhone it can ask to send notifications only after the user adds it to the Home Screen. We discuss the scope with you before choosing an approach.
