App developers for Bunbury businesses

A mobile app gives your customers or staff a way to complete useful tasks on their phones. For your Bunbury business, we can design the screens, build the backend and prepare the app for both stores. At MSH Technologies, we’re a studio in India, and we work with you remotely from the first discussion through to launch.

Choosing

Should you choose cross-platform or native development?

For an app built around accounts, forms, bookings, payments or content, a cross-platform build is a practical place to start. We usually use React Native, sharing a codebase across iOS and Android and adding native modules when a feature needs them. That keeps much of the platform work together while still using each platform’s own interface components.

Flutter is another cross-platform option. It draws its own interface, which suits a heavily branded app whose screens need to look identical across platforms. Your team would need to be comfortable working in Dart, so think about who will maintain the app as well as how you want the screens to look.

We choose native development when an app needs deep device features. The decision starts with the tasks your users need to complete and the features those tasks depend on. That gives you a useful basis for choosing an approach before committing to a design or build.

Local

What Bunbury businesses need from an app

Retail and service businesses are part of Bunbury’s economy. For a shop or restaurant with repeat customers, an app could make reordering easier through a fast checkout, saved payment details and notifications sent at a useful point in the order process.

Mining and mineral processing are major local activities. A business managing field work could give staff job forms with photos, signatures and location details, then sync completed records to the office when a connection returns.

Bunbury also has education campuses. An organisation whose users frequently return to an existing web platform could use an app with the same accounts and data, avoiding a separate set of records for staff to manage.

Rules

What an app project in Australia needs to handle

Australian guidance on access to digital goods and services recommends WCAG 2.2 at Level AA. We set that as the accessibility target for the app’s screen design and review it as part of the work, so the requirement is considered while screens are being planned.

For a checkout taking card payments, we also set up the payment flow without surcharges on debit, prepaid and credit card payments on the eftpos, Mastercard and Visa networks, reflecting the Australian decision to remove those surcharges.

How it runs

How an app project runs with us

We work remotely through video calls, WhatsApp and a shared project board. India is 2h30m behind Perth, and Western Australia does not change its clocks. The shared board gives you a place to leave decisions and feedback between calls, so work can keep moving across the difference.

  1. 01

    Design

We prepare screen designs and refine them with your feedback before code is written. You review the screens against the tasks your customers or staff need to complete.

  2. 02

    Build

We develop the app and its backend, including accounts, data and any admin tools included in the agreed scope. You can check how those pieces support the work your users need to do.

  3. 03

    Test

You receive builds on your own phone through TestFlight on iPhone or a Google Play testing track. Use them in a realistic situation and tell us where a task feels difficult.

  4. 04

    Launch

We handle the store listings, submission and review under your own developer accounts. You retain those accounts for the app after release.

Checklist

What to have ready before we talk

Bring the information you already have; it gives the discussion a useful focus.

  • User tasksList what people need to do in the first release, in the order they will do it.
  • Existing systemsNote your website, booking software or payment provider, whether each has an API and who holds admin access.
  • Developer accountsStart registering Apple and Google accounts in your company’s name; organisation verification needs a D-U-N-S number.
  • Privacy policyHave a policy that reflects the data the app collects, ready to link from the app and its Apple listing.
  • Access and codePlan to hold the developer accounts, signing access and code repository in your business’s name.

Cost & time

What affects the cost and timing of an app?

The work grows with the flows, connections and backend your app needs.

  • User roles

Customers, drivers and staff each need their own screens and permissions, even with a shared backend.

  • Live features

Tracking and chat need persistent connections and more backend work than screens that load data on request.

  • Integrations

Each connection, such as a booking system or payment gateway, needs setup, testing and handling for failures.

  • User content

If people post content, the app needs tools to filter and report material, block abusive users and display contact details.

  • Existing backend

A documented API can reduce the work; a new backend and admin panel add a substantial part of the project.

Questions

Asked by businesses in Bunbury

Page updated 5 November 2026

How much does it cost to develop an app?

There is no fixed price. The scope drives the quote: a native app needs separate codebases for iPhone and Android, while offline editing and later syncing require more work than showing previously loaded data. Decide which of those capabilities users need in the first release before seeking a quote.

How should I choose an app developer?

Choose someone who will help you test the idea with real users before the build. Putting a clickable prototype in front of customers or staff makes screen changes less costly than changing built software. Ask how the proposed app will give people a useful reason to install it, too.

Can you add notifications and subscriptions?

Yes. We build push notifications and in-app subscriptions for both stores. Notifications need a sending service, rules for who receives each message and when, and settings that let people switch off categories. For digital subscriptions sold in the app, the Google Play billing requirements also affect the payment setup.

Who owns the app and store accounts?

You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. We submit the app under your own developer accounts, so the store listing sits with your business. Keep access to those accounts available to the people responsible for the app after it launches.

What happens after the app launches?

The app needs monitoring and maintenance after release. Analytics and crash reporting show where people leave a task and which devices have problems. Some JavaScript and content fixes can be shipped over the air, while native code changes and new permissions still need a store release.
