Choosing
Should you choose WordPress or a custom website?
WordPress suits a team that publishes frequently and wants to edit most of the site itself. Its plugin choice gives you ways to add features, but the site needs regular updates to stay secure. Before choosing it, decide who will take responsibility for those updates as well as the content.
A custom-coded site in Next.js suits a company that wants fast pages, tight security and a design without template limits. It is a good fit when you are happy for a developer to make structural changes. A headless setup adds a separate content editor to a custom front end; it supports substantial editing, with more components to host and maintain.
A hosted builder such as Wix, Squarespace or Webflow suits a small site that you want to run alone. You give up some control over code and speed, and moving away later can mean rebuilding the site. We recommend WordPress or Next.js after learning how your team works and what you need to change.
Local
What Northern Ireland businesses need from a website
Belfast has a technology hub, so a startup launching a product has a clear job for its site: explain what the product does in plain language and give interested visitors a way to join a waitlist or book a demo. That gives your audience a useful next step while you introduce the product or seek investment.
Larne and Belfast have major ports carrying freight, and suppliers serving that trade need to make their capabilities easy to assess. Product pages can carry certifications and downloadable specifications, while a quote form asks for the details needed to respond. We route contact and quote forms to the right inbox, with WhatsApp and click-to-call available too.
Rules
What a UK website needs to handle
If you run a UK limited company, your site needs to show its registered number, registered office address, place of registration and limited-company status. We include space for those details in the site build, so you can supply and check them before launch.
Websites providing services need to account for reasonable adjustments for disabled people. We agree an accessibility target in the brief and use it to guide the build. WCAG has A, AA and AAA levels, and the W3C encourages use of its latest version.
How it runs
How your website project runs with us
We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India is 5h30m ahead of the UK, or 4h30m ahead during British Summer Time. The shared board keeps feedback and decisions available across that difference.

Discover
Tell us who buys from you, why they choose you and what you want visitors to do. We learn your goals and agree the scope with you; those answers shape the sitemap.
- 02
Plan
We prepare wireframes before visual design. Review the content and its order at this stage, so page priorities are settled before attention turns to colours.
- 03
Design
We create the sitemap and page designs for desktop and mobile, then refine the designs using your feedback. You get to review the screens before the build.
- 04
Build and test
We build the site in code or with a CMS your team can edit, then test it on real devices and browsers. Review the working pages with us.
- 05
Launch
We set up your domain, email, analytics and Search Console, then walk your team through the handover. You can ask questions about the setup as we go.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Gather what you have before our conversation.
- Your goal for the site, and who handles each enquiry.
- Your services or products, ordered by business priority.
- Vector logo files, colours and fonts, or a note that they still need creating.
- Photos of your team, premises and finished work.
- Sites you like and dislike, with a short reason for each choice.
- Access details for your domain, hosting, email and analytics, or the name of the person who holds them.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and scope of your website
The work involved changes with what you already have and what the site needs to contain.
Pages and responsibilities
The sitemap, design, editor, forms and launch all need an owner, so agree what your team will provide and what you need us to handle.
Content readiness
Copy and photos ready to publish reduce the work; adding copywriting, photography or translation increases the scope.
Existing content
Moving blog posts, news archives and downloadable files calls for migration and checking.
Brand readiness
An existing logo and style guide reduce design effort compared with deciding colours and typefaces during the project.
Avoid
Mistakes to avoid when building your website
Leaving real copy until the end
Put actual headings and paragraphs into designs early, as their length can change the layout.
Reviewing only on a large screen
Check every page on a phone before approving the design.
Copying every old page
Choose the service pages visitors need and that your team can keep current.
Leaving search checks until launch
Check page titles, the sitemap and any indexing block before the site goes live.

Questions
Asked by businesses in Northern Ireland
Page updated 5 November 2026
Is a website still worth investing in?
A website is worth considering when you have a clear action you want visitors to take. Measure it against enquiries: track form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks as conversions in analytics, and check which pages those visitors started from. That gives you useful information for reviewing the site after launch.
How much does it cost to have a website built?
There is no fixed price: the scope determines the work. Booking features, member logins and a CRM connection each add design, build and testing tasks beyond a brochure site. Tell us which features you need and what each should do; we send a free quote once the scope is agreed.
Can our team edit a custom website?
Yes. A custom Next.js site can include an editor, and we provide content management for pages, news, projects and careers that your team can use without training. Tell us who will make those changes and how often, so the editing setup fits the way you work.
What search setup is included in the build?
We build in page titles and descriptions, a clear heading structure, an XML sitemap and structured data, alongside fast-loading pages. These are practical items to include while the site is being built. Agreeing them early takes less effort than treating them as fixes after the build.
Will we own the website?
Yes. You own the domain, content and code, with no lock-in. That gives you control of the assets that make up your site. Keep a record of ownership and make sure the people responsible for your website know where those assets are held after handover.
What happens after the website launches?
We provide ongoing support after launch. Your team should also decide who will update news, projects and job posts, so those sections stay current. An old newest post can leave visitors wondering whether a company is still trading, so assign that responsibility during handover.
