Web design and development for Melbourne businesses
You get a website designed around what you need visitors to do, with desktop and mobile pages, enquiry forms and routes to the right inbox. If you run a business in Melbourne, we work with you on the decisions behind each page and build it for your team to use. We’re MSH Technologies, a studio in India, and the same team handles design, development and launch.

Choosing
Should you choose WordPress, a custom site or a hosted builder?
WordPress suits a team that publishes often and wants to edit most of its own site. It offers a large choice of plugins, although someone needs to keep it updated for security. A hosted builder such as Wix, Squarespace or Webflow can suit a small site that an owner wants to run alone. The trade-off is less control over code and speed; moving away later can mean rebuilding the site.
A headless setup pairs a custom front end with a separate content editor. It is worth considering when you need both speed and substantial editing control, but it introduces more parts to host and maintain. Ask who will look after those parts before choosing it.
We recommend WordPress or a custom Next.js site after learning how your team works. Tell us who will publish content and how often, so the choice reflects the work your team will do after launch.
Local
What Melbourne businesses need from their websites
Melbourne is a financial centre. If you offer financial services here, visitors need a clear route from a service page to the person handling their enquiry. We plan where each form sends its message, who receives quote requests and what the confirmation says. We also decide with you whether WhatsApp or click-to-call belongs on mobile.
Melbourne has a seaport, and suppliers serving other businesses need to explain their capabilities in enough detail for a buyer to respond. Product pages, certifications and downloadable specifications give buyers material to review. A quote form should also ask for enough detail for your team to answer the request.
Rules
What an Australian website project needs to handle
Australian guidance on equal access recommends WCAG 2.2 at a minimum of Level AA. We put an accessibility target in your brief and use it when preparing your sitemap, wireframes and page designs for desktop and mobile. The W3C groups its criteria into Levels A, AA and AAA and encourages use of the latest version. Agreeing the target at the start gives you and the design team a reference for reviewing the work.
How it runs
How your website project runs with us
We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India is behind Melbourne, with the gap changing during daylight saving, so we use the shared board to keep decisions and work visible across the time difference.
- 01
Discover
Tell us about your business, audience and goals. We agree the scope with you before moving into design.
- 02
Plan
Explain who buys from you, why they choose you and what you want visitors to do. We use those answers to shape the sitemap.
- 03
Design
Review the wireframes for content and page priorities first. Visual design follows once you have had a chance to comment on what goes where.
- 04
Build
We write the code or set up a content management system your team can edit. We test the site on real devices and browsers.
- 05
Launch
We set up the domain, email, analytics and Search Console, then walk your team through the handover.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
These details help us understand the work and the decisions your team needs to make.
- Brand filesYour logo in SVG, AI or EPS, plus colours and fonts, or a note that they still need creating.
- Website examplesSites you like and dislike, with a line explaining what works or does not work for you.
- Account accessLogin details for your domain, hosting, email, analytics and Search Console, or the person who holds them.
- PhotosImages of your team, premises and completed work, with a photo shoot booked ahead if needed.
- Proof of workCase studies, permitted client logos, testimonials, certifications and memberships gathered in a folder.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and time of a website project
The scope determines how much design, build and checking work is needed.
Features
Booking, member logins, calculators, several languages or a CRM connection add design, development and testing work.
Content
Copy and photos ready to publish keep the work smaller; adding copywriting, photography or translation increases the scope.
Migration
Blog posts, news archives and downloadable files from an old site all need moving and checking.
Brand readiness
An existing logo and style guide reduce design work compared with a project where colours and typefaces still need decisions.
Avoid
Mistakes to avoid when building your website
Registering accounts in someone else’s name
Hold the domain and hosting accounts in your business name and grant access to the people doing the work.
Reviewing only on a large screen
Check every page on a phone as well, including how the content reads and fits.
Choosing the platform too early
Decide who will update the site and how often before settling on the editing setup.
Leaving real copy until the end
Use actual headings and paragraphs during design so their length does not disrupt an approved layout.

Questions
Asked by businesses in Melbourne
Page updated 5 November 2026
Is a website still worth investing in?
It can be worthwhile when it gives people a clear way to contact you and gives your team something useful to measure. Track form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks as conversions, then check which pages those enquiries started from. Also decide who will keep news, projects and job posts current after launch.
How much does it cost to have a website built?
There is no single fixed price: the work varies with the pages and functionality you need, the readiness of your content and the design approach. A custom design suits a specific brand or audience, while an adapted template can fit a simpler brief. Decide early who will supply service descriptions, case studies and photos.
Can you work with our existing brand?
Yes. We can build on your existing logo, colours and fonts, and prepare brand assets for the web where needed. Share what you already have when we discuss the project, so the page designs can reflect your existing identity and we can identify any assets that need preparation.
What is included in the website build?
The build can include custom development in Next.js or WordPress, plus a content editor for pages, news, projects and careers. Your team can use that editor without training. We select the development approach around how you plan to manage the site, so explain which content you expect to update yourselves.
Will we own the website after handover?
Yes. You own the domain, content and code. At handover, we also provide a walkthrough for your team alongside the domain, email, analytics and Search Console setup. That gives the people responsible for the site an opportunity to see the setup and ask about their handover.
Will the site be ready for search engines?
We build with search setup in mind, including page titles and descriptions, a clear heading structure, an XML sitemap and structured data. Those elements are easier to address during the build than afterwards. Before launch, check that an indexing block used during development has not been left in place.
