Choosing

Should you choose WordPress or a custom website?

WordPress suits a team that publishes often and wants to edit most of the site itself. Its plugins give you a range of options, but the site needs regular updates to stay secure. Decide who will take responsibility for those updates before choosing it.

A custom Next.js site suits you if fast pages, tight security and a design without template limits are priorities. It works well when you are happy for a developer to handle structural changes. A headless setup adds a separate content editor to a custom front end, which suits heavier editing, but brings more components to host and maintain.

For a small site you want to run alone, a hosted builder such as Wix, Squarespace or Webflow is another option. You have less control over code and speed, and moving away later can mean rebuilding. We recommend WordPress or Next.js after learning how your team works and who will be editing the site.

Local

What Dubbo businesses need from their websites

For exporters such as Fletcher International Exports, product and capability pages can give buyers the detail they need to make an enquiry. Certifications, downloadable specifications and a quote form with enough space for the request help the team respond.

Hospitals are a major local employer, and appointment-based practices need visitors to find services, practitioners and opening hours without searching through the site. A booking or call option should work well on a phone.

Tourism is a significant local industry. For a tourism operator receiving enquiries through its website, agree where each form message goes, who receives it and what the visitor sees in the confirmation. Decide whether a mobile visitor should also have a click-to-call or WhatsApp button.

Rules

What your Australian website project needs to handle

Australian guidance recommends WCAG 2.2 at a minimum of Level AA for access to digital goods and services. Agree an accessibility target in the brief so it shapes the work from the start. We set up the sitemap, wireframes and page designs for desktop and mobile with that target in view, and refine the designs with your feedback before the build. This gives you a clear point at which to review the proposed pages.

How it runs

How a website project runs with us

We are a studio in India and work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India is 4h30m behind Sydney, and 5h30m behind during daylight saving. Shared boards keep the work and feedback visible across the time difference.

    Discover

Tell us who buys from you, why they choose you and what visitors should do on the site. We learn your goals and agree the scope together.

  2. 02

    Plan

We prepare wireframes before the visual design. Check the content and order of each page at this stage; colours come later.

  3. 03

    Build

We develop the agreed site in Next.js or WordPress, according to the editing control your team needs.

  4. 04

    Check

Proofread every page, submit each form once and confirm who receives its messages before launch.

  5. 05

    Launch

We set up the domain, email, analytics and Search Console, then walk your team through the site.

Checklist

What to have ready before we talk

A few decisions and materials will help us discuss the scope.

  • Your main goal, such as quote requests or calls, and who handles each enquiry.
  • Services or products ranked by their importance to your business.
  • Domain, hosting, email, analytics and Search Console logins, or the name of whoever holds them.
  • Sites you like and dislike, with a reason for each choice.
  • Photos of your team, premises and finished work.
  • Case studies, testimonials, certifications and client logos you have permission to show.

Cost & time

What affects the cost and timeline

The scope determines how much design and build work is needed.

  • Page templates

Distinct page layouts take more design and build work than pages sharing a template.

  • Brand readiness

An existing logo and style guide leave less design work than colours and typefaces still being decided.

  • Content gathering

Service descriptions, team bios, case studies and photos need owners, or they can hold up the work.

  • Placeholder copy

Adding real text late can break layouts that looked finished, creating more work on the pages.

Questions

Asked by businesses in Dubbo

Page updated 5 November 2026

How much does it cost to have a website built?

There is no fixed price. The work changes with the content you provide and the material that needs moving from an old site. Ready-to-publish copy and photos keep the scope smaller; copywriting, photography, translation and checking an archive add work. We send a free quote once the scope is agreed.

Can you use our existing brand?

Yes. We can build on your existing logo, colours and fonts, and prepare brand assets for the web where needed. Bring the materials you already use so we can see what is available and discuss how they should appear across the website.

What should we check before approving the design?

Review every page on a phone, not only on a large desktop screen. Many visitors arrive on a phone, so check that you can read the page and find your way through it at that size before you approve the design.

Will we own the website?

Yes. You own the domain, content and code, with no lock-in. Your business should also hold the domain and hosting accounts and grant access to the people working on the site. That keeps the accounts under your control when the project is handed over.

What should we do after the website launches?

Choose who will update news, projects and job posts, then measure the enquiries the site receives. Track form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks as conversions in analytics, and check which pages visitors started from. That gives your team a practical way to review the site.
