Choosing
Should you choose a cross-platform, native or web app?
For an app centred on accounts, forms, lists, maps, bookings or payments, a cross-platform build is a practical place to start. We use React Native to share a codebase across iOS and Android, and go native when an app needs deep device features. React Native uses each platform’s own interface components; web developers can contribute, and some logic can be shared with a React website.
Flutter is another cross-platform option. It draws its own interface, which suits a heavily branded app whose screens need to look identical across both platforms. Your team would need to be comfortable working in Dart, so consider who will maintain the app as well as how you want it to look.
A progressive web app can suit a staff tool and avoids store review. It will not appear in the app stores unless packaged for them, and on iPhone it can request notification permission only after someone adds it to the Home Screen. Wrapping an existing website in an app shell also risks Apple rejecting it, so decide what useful app experience you need first.
Local
What Varanasi businesses need from an app
Silk weaving is a dominant industry in Varanasi. If you sell to repeat customers, an app can give them a quick way to reorder, use loyalty features and keep payment details ready. Checkout and the timing of notifications need attention in the design.
Varanasi also manufactures and trades products including carpets, brassware and musical instruments. If your operation has a field maintenance team, staff can use an app to record job details, photos, signatures and location, then sync the records to the office when a signal returns.
Tourism businesses in Varanasi that already have a web platform can consider an app when customers use that platform frequently. Reusing its accounts, data and backend gives those customers a familiar account to use on the app.
Rules
What an app project in India has to handle
If you want customers to pay for physical goods or services using UPI, we set up a checkout integration with a payment gateway that supports it. The payment flow changes for digital content and subscriptions used in the app: Apple in-app purchase and Google Play billing are required for those sales, with some storefront or regional exceptions. We plan the checkout around what you sell before connecting the payment service.
How it runs
How an app project runs with us
We work remotely with you from India, using video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards.
- 01
Design
We design the iOS and Android screens and refine them with your feedback before writing code. Tell us where a flow feels unclear or leaves out a task your users need.
- 02
Prototype
Put the clickable design in front of a few customers or staff. Their feedback can reveal a screen that needs changing while it is still less expensive to adjust than a built feature.
- 03
Test
We send builds to your phone through TestFlight or Google Play testing tracks. Use the app for real tasks and share what stops you completing them.
- 04
Prepare for review
For an app with login, have a working demo account and live backend ready for submission. Leave room in the launch plan for fixes and resubmission if needed.
- 05
Release
We handle the store listings, submission and review under your own developer accounts. You retain access to those accounts as the app goes through the release process.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Bring the details that help us define the first release.
- User tasksList what people must be able to do, in the order they will do it.
- Existing systemsNote your website, CRM, booking or payment systems, their APIs and who holds admin access.
- Developer accountsStart registering them in your company’s name; organisation accounts need a D-U-N-S number.
- TestersNew personal Google Play accounts need a closed test before production release, so identify people who can take part.
- AccessPlan to keep developer accounts, signing access and code repositories in your business’s name.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline
The scope changes the amount of design, building and testing involved.
User roles
Customers, drivers and staff each need their own screens and permissions, even with a shared backend.
Existing backend
A documented API saves work; a new backend and admin panel need their own build.
Screen design
Custom animation, extra languages, right-to-left scripts and tablet layouts add design and testing work across screens.
Offline work
Showing previously loaded data is more modest than editing records offline and resolving conflicts when they sync.
User content
Posts or other user-generated material need filtering, reporting, user blocking and published contact details.
Questions
Asked by businesses in Varanasi
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to develop an app?
There is no fixed price. The work behind accounts and an admin panel affects the quote, as does the notification setup: messages need a sending service, audience rules and controls for users. Ask for a quote once the scope is agreed, with the backend and notification work identified.
How do I choose an app development company?
Ask how the team will make the app useful before asking people to sign up, and how it will handle account deletion. Apple expects apps without significant account-based features to allow use without login. Apps that offer account creation also need an in-app deletion path; Google Play requires a web request link too.
Can the app use the same backend as my website?
Yes. We can build a shared backend for your app, website and admin tools, so the services use the same accounts and data. This gives you a way to manage customer information in one place instead of treating the app as a separate set of records.
Who owns the app code and content?
You do. You own your domain, content and code, with no lock-in. When reviewing the scope, ask for the handover to identify the code and content you will receive, so your business has them available if you later decide to change who maintains the product.
What support does an app need after launch?
Plan for bug fixes, updates for new iOS and Android versions, and new features as your needs change. Google Play also requires apps and updates to target a recent Android API level; an out-of-date app can become unavailable to new users on newer devices, so schedule maintenance releases.
