What you get

What’s included in mobile app development

  • App design

Screens and flows designed for iOS and Android conventions.

  • Cross-platform build

One React Native codebase for both platforms, with native modules where needed.

  • Backend & APIs

Accounts, data, notifications and admin tools behind the app.

  • Push notifications

Timely, targeted notifications that bring people back.

  • Payments & subscriptions

In-app purchases and subscriptions on both stores.

  • Store launch

App Store and Google Play listings, submission and release.

Tools we use: React Native, Expo, Swift, Kotlin, Firebase, Node.js.

Choosing

Should you build a cross-platform, native or web app?

A cross-platform app suits products built around accounts, forms, bookings, payments and content. We usually use React Native, sharing a codebase across iOS and Android and adding native modules where a feature needs them. That gives you coverage on both platforms without maintaining a separate codebase for each.

Native development uses Swift for iPhone and Kotlin for Android. It fits an app built around deep device features, heavy graphics or complex background work, though there are separate codebases to build and maintain. Flutter is another cross-platform option: it uses Dart and draws its own interface, which suits a heavily branded design when your team is willing to work in Dart.

A progressive web app is worth considering for a staff tool. It skips store review, but does not appear in app stores unless packaged for them. On iPhone, it can request notification permission only after the user adds it to the Home Screen.

Local

What Oldham organisations need from an app

Oldham has home-shopping businesses and a concentration of town-centre retail. If you sell to repeat customers, an app could give them reordering, loyalty and saved payment details, with a fast checkout and notifications timed around their needs.

For a healthcare organisation in Oldham with staff working away from the office, forms, photos, signatures and job locations may need to be captured without a signal and synced when it returns.

If your Oldham customers already use your web platform frequently, an app can reuse their accounts and data through the existing backend. That gives returning users a familiar account across the website and app.

Rules

What a UK app project has to handle

UK data protection rules affect how you handle customer data. We set up links to a privacy policy inside the app and in its Apple store listing; the policy needs to match what the app collects. If your project includes a website using cookies solely for statistics, we set up clear information and an easy way to object. Those cookies can be used without consent under the specified UK rules.

How it runs

How an app project runs with us

We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India is 5h30m ahead of the UK, or 4h30m during British Summer Time, from the last Sunday in March to the last Sunday in October. The shared board keeps decisions and feedback visible across that difference.

    Discover

We learn about your business, audience and goals, then agree the scope with you.

  2. 02

    Design

We create iOS and Android screens and refine them with your feedback before writing code.

  3. 03

    Check the prototype

Put it in front of a few customers or staff. A screen is cheaper to change at this stage than after it is built.

  4. 04

    Test on your phone

We send test builds through TestFlight or Google Play testing tracks so you can give feedback from real use.

  5. 05

    Prepare for submission

If your app has a login, provide a working demo account and keep the backend live. Leave room for fixes and resubmission if needed.

Checklist

What to have ready before we talk

Bring what you have; these details help shape the scope.

  • List what users must do in the first release, in the order they would do it.
  • Note the website, booking, CRM or payment systems involved, their APIs and who holds admin access.
  • Start registering developer accounts in your company name; organisation accounts need a D-U-N-S number.
  • Identify any analytics or advertising SDKs you want, so store privacy answers cover their data collection.
  • Identify what you sell in the appGoogle Play billing rules differ for digital goods and physical goods or services.

Cost & time

What affects the cost and work involved?

The scope determines how much design, build and testing work is needed.

  • User roles

Customers, drivers and staff each need their own screens and permissions.

  • Integrations

Payments, maps, booking systems and hardware each need setup, testing and failure handling.

  • Screen design

Custom animation, extra languages and tablet layouts add design and testing work across screens.

  • Existing systems

A backend with a documented API can reduce the build; a new backend and admin panel add substantial work.

Questions

Asked by businesses in Oldham

Page updated 5 November 2026

How much does it cost to develop an app?

There is no fixed price. The main drivers include what the backend and staff admin panel must do, whether users need to edit records offline, and whether features such as live chat need persistent connections. We send a free quote once the scope is agreed.

Which app development company should I choose?

Choose a company that can explain how it will make the app useful and publish it under your accounts. Ask how users will get value before signing in, and what the app will offer beyond an existing website. We handle store listings, submission and review under your own developer accounts.

What should the app include?

That starts with what your users need to do. Accounts need particular attention: when an app allows account creation, Apple requires an in-app way to start deleting the account. Google Play also requires an in-app deletion path and a web link for requesting deletion of the account and associated data.

Who owns the app and its code?

You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. Keep developer accounts, signing access and code repositories in your business’s name too. Holding those under an agency or freelancer can make the app difficult to move if you later want someone else to maintain it.

What happens after the app launches?

Support continues with bug fixes, platform updates and new features. Some JavaScript and content fixes can go out through an over-the-air tool, while native code changes and new permissions need a store release. Regular Android maintenance also helps keep the app available to new users on newer devices.
