Mobile app developers for Norwich businesses
You get an app built around the tasks your customers or staff need to complete, with accounts and data behind it and a plan for release in both app stores. For your Norwich business, we can also build the admin tools your team needs. We’re MSH Technologies, a studio in India, and we work with you remotely through calls, WhatsApp and a shared project board.

Choosing
Should you choose a cross-platform or native app?
A cross-platform app shares much of its code between iOS and Android. It suits work built around accounts, forms, lists, maps, bookings, payments or content. Sharing code gives you one main codebase to maintain while still giving customers an app for their device.
Native development uses Swift for iPhone and Kotlin for Android. It fits an app that depends on deep device features, heavy graphics, complex background work or new platform features at launch. You get the flexibility of working directly with each platform, but there are two codebases to build and maintain. Flutter is another cross-platform option: it uses Dart and draws its own interface, which suits a heavily branded design that should look identical on both platforms.
We usually build with React Native, sharing a codebase across both platforms and adding native modules where a feature needs them. We go fully native when the app needs deep device features. Bring us the tasks and device features you have in mind, and we’ll help you choose an approach.
Local
What Norwich organisations need from an app
Retail is part of the city’s employment mix. A Norwich shop serving repeat customers could use an app for reordering, loyalty and saved payment details. The checkout needs to be quick, and notifications need to arrive at a useful point in the purchase.
Norwich Research Park includes research organisations and science and technology businesses. Where staff carry out inspections or other field work, an app needs forms that work without signal, with photos, signatures and location attached to each job and synced back to the office.
The city’s universities include the University of East Anglia and Norwich University of the Arts. An organisation whose users already return frequently to a web platform could reuse their accounts, data and backend in an app, giving people access on their phones.
Rules
What a United Kingdom project needs to handle
If your app project includes a website through which you provide services, we design its screens with accessibility in mind. Equality and Human Rights Commission guidance says service providers must make reasonable adjustments so disabled people can use their websites. Tell us which website tasks your customers need to complete.
Store requirements also affect app features. If people can create an account, we include a way to start deleting it inside the app. For user-generated content, we build in filtering, reporting, user blocking and contact details so people have a way to deal with objectionable material.
How it runs
How an app project runs with us
We work remotely across the time difference: India is 5h30m ahead of the UK, or 4h30m ahead during British Summer Time. We use video calls, WhatsApp and the shared project board to keep decisions and feedback moving between conversations.
- 01
Discover
We learn about your business, audience and goals, then agree the scope with you. Bring the main task you want the app to support.
- 02
Design
We create iOS and Android screens and refine them with your feedback before writing code. You review the flows with us.
- 03
Prototype
Put the clickable design in front of a few customers or staff. Their feedback gives us a chance to change screens before they are built.
- 04
Build and test
The same team handles design, development and launch. We test on real devices and browsers; you review the work as it progresses.
- 05
Store release
We prepare the listings and handle submission and review under your own developer accounts. You retain those accounts.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
These details help us work out what the app and its release will need.
- Developer accountsStart registering Apple and Google accounts in your company’s name; organisation accounts need a D-U-N-S number.
- TestersNew personal Google Play accounts need a closed test with opted-in testers before production release.
- Existing systemsList your website, CRM, booking system and payment provider, along with any APIs and who holds admin access.
- Privacy policyHave a policy that reflects what the app collects; Apple requires links in the listing and app.
- Login accessFor an app with accounts, prepare a working demo account and live backend for Apple’s review.
- Third-party toolsRecord any analytics or advertising SDKs, so the Google Play Data safety form covers their data collection.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timing of development
The work changes with the features, systems and screens you need.
Integrations
A payment gateway, booking system or connected device needs setup, testing and a way to handle failures.
Interface
Custom animation, extra languages and tablet layouts add design and testing across screens.
Notifications
A sending service, audience and timing rules, and in-app category settings all need to be set up.
Payments
Digital purchases and subscriptions need store billing; physical goods and services need another payment method.
Questions
Asked by businesses in Norwich
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to develop an app?
There is no fixed price. The main drivers include building a backend and admin panel, adding live features such as chat, and deciding how much people need to do offline. An existing documented API can reduce the work, while offline editing needs synchronisation and conflict handling. We send a free quote once the scope is agreed.
How do I choose an app development company?
Choose a team that can explain what the app will let people do and how it will meet store requirements. Ask how it will earn a place on someone’s phone: Apple’s guidelines expect more than a repackaged website. Also ask when notification permission will be requested; a useful moment is after an order.
What is included in an app build?
An app project usually includes the phone app, a backend for accounts and data, and an admin panel for your staff. The panel gives staff a way to edit content, look up customers, issue refunds and block abusive accounts. We can build one backend that also serves your website.
Who owns the app and developer accounts?
You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. Keep developer accounts, signing access and code repositories in your business’s name as well. That gives you control of the materials needed to maintain or move the app, instead of having them held in an agency’s or freelancer’s name.
What support does an app need after launch?
Plan for maintenance releases and use reporting to see how the app performs. Google Play requires apps and updates to target a recent Android API level. Tools such as Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics show screen use and device crashes; retention and crash-free rate help you assess how a release is working.
