Choosing
Should you choose native or cross-platform?
For an app built around accounts, forms, bookings, payments or content, a cross-platform approach is often a practical fit. React Native shares most of the code across iOS and Android while using each platform’s own interface components. Your web developers can contribute, and some logic can be shared with a React web app. That gives you a common foundation to maintain across the platforms.
Native development in Swift and Kotlin fits work that depends on deep device features, heavy graphics, complex background tasks or new platform features at launch. The trade-off is maintaining separate codebases. A progressive web app is another option for a staff tool: it skips store review, though it needs packaging to appear in the stores. On an iPhone, notification requests work only after it has been added to the Home Screen.
We help you choose during discovery, after learning who will use the product and what it needs to do. We then agree the scope with you before design begins.
Local
What organisations in Northern Borders Region may need
Northern Borders University offers programmes in subjects including medicine, engineering and business. An organisation with appointment-based services could need booking, reminders, payments and a staff view of the day’s schedule. When planning such an app, give staff a way to manage the information behind each booking as well as giving customers a clear way to make one.
The region also has technical and vocational education institutions managed by TVTC. For an organisation whose staff record work away from the office, an app could collect forms, photos, signatures and location details, then sync them when signal returns. An existing web platform can share accounts and data with an app when people need frequent access from a phone.
Rules
What your app needs to handle in Saudi Arabia
Arabic is the language of Saudi Arabia. If your audience needs Arabic screens, we design the iOS and Android flows with that reading experience in mind, including right-to-left layouts where required by your content.
For physical goods and services, we set up a card payment route and check with your provider that it supports mada cards and 3D Secure. Digital content and subscriptions used inside the app follow the app stores’ billing rules instead. We plan the checkout around what you sell before building the payment flow.
How it runs
How a mobile app project runs with us
We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India time is 2h30m ahead, so the shared board gives you a place to review decisions and leave feedback across the time difference.
- 01
Discover
We learn about your business, audience and goals. You show us the tasks the app needs to support, and we agree the scope together.
- 02
Design
We prepare iOS and Android screens and refine them with your feedback before writing code. You can check the flows against how your customers and staff work.
- 03
Test the prototype
Put the clickable design in front of a few customers or staff. Their feedback gives you a chance to change a screen before it is built.
- 04
Build
We use a shared React Native codebase for both platforms, adding native modules where needed. You review the work against the agreed scope.
- 05
Release
We handle the store listings, submission and review under your developer accounts. You retain control of those accounts while we prepare the release.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Gather these details so the scope and release work have a clear starting point.
- Developer accountsStart registering Apple and Google accounts in your company’s name; organisation verification needs a D-U-N-S number.
- Existing systemsList your website, CRM, booking or ERP software and payment provider, with API details and admin contacts.
- Privacy policyPrepare a policy that matches the data the app collects, for the listing and a link inside the app.
- TestingCheck the closed-test requirements if you plan to use a new personal Google Play developer account.
- Submission accessPlan a working demo account and live backend if the app has a login.
Cost & time
What affects cost and delivery work
The scope determines how much design, backend and testing work is needed.
Offline work
Showing previously loaded data takes less work than accepting edits offline and resolving conflicts when records sync.
Live features
Tracking, chat and presence need persistent connections and more backend work than screens that load data on request.
Screen design
Custom animation, multiple languages, right-to-left scripts and tablet layouts add design and testing across screens.
User content
Posts or other user-generated material need filtering, reporting, blocking and published contact details.
Avoid
Mistakes to avoid when building an app
Wrapping a website
Give people useful app functionality. A repackaged site risks store rejection and gives customers little reason to install it.
Demanding a login too soon
Let people see and use what they can before registration when the app has no significant account-based features.
Leaving access with a supplier
Keep developer accounts, signing access and code repositories in your business’s name so the app is easier to move later.

Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to develop an app?
There is no fixed price. The main drivers include how many user types need separate screens and permissions, and whether you already have a backend with a documented API or need a new backend and admin panel. We send a free quote once we agree the scope, so you can assess the proposed work before proceeding.
How do I choose an app development company?
Choose a team that explains its platform choice and how it will check the app after release. We generally use React Native and choose native development for deep device features. We also put analytics and crash reporting in the first release, so you can see screen use, drop-off points and device crashes.
Can the app share data with my website?
Yes. We build a backend that serves your app, website and admin tools, so they can work with the same data. If your product also needs digital purchases or subscriptions, we set up in-app purchases and subscriptions on both stores as part of the app work.
Will I own the app code?
Yes. You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. That gives your business control over those assets if you decide to change how the product is maintained. Ask for ownership and access to be clear when you agree the project scope, before development starts.
What happens after the app launches?
Launch is followed by ongoing support for bug fixes, operating-system updates and new features. We can use an over-the-air tool for JavaScript and content fixes, while native code or permission changes need a store release. Track returning users, drop-off in the main task and the crash-free rate to assess releases.
When should the app ask to send notifications?
Ask when the benefit is clear to the user, such as after an order, instead of immediately at first launch. We set up targeted push notifications for relevant updates. On Android 13 and later, notifications remain off until the user gives permission, so the request needs a clear purpose.
