Should you choose cross-platform, native or a web app?
We usually use React Native to build for iOS and Android from a shared codebase. It suits apps built around accounts, bookings, forms, lists, maps, payments or content. Where a feature needs deeper access to the device, we can add a native module; an app that depends heavily on device features may need a native build. We help you choose by looking at what the app needs to do.
Flutter is another cross-platform option. It uses Dart and draws its own interface, which suits a heavily branded app whose screens need to look identical across platforms. Choosing it means working in Dart, so consider that alongside how much custom interface work your product needs.
A progressive web app is worth considering for a staff tool. It skips store review, though it will not appear in the app stores unless packaged for them. On iPhone, it can request notification permission only after someone adds it to the Home Screen.
