Choosing

Should you choose cross-platform or native?

For an app built around accounts, bookings, forms, payments or content, a cross-platform build is a practical place to start. React Native shares most of the code across iOS and Android while using each platform’s own interface components. Web developers can contribute, and an existing React website can share some logic with the app.

Flutter is another cross-platform option. It draws its own interface, which suits a heavily branded design that needs to look identical across platforms, although your development team needs to work in Dart. Native development in Swift and Kotlin suits deep device features, heavy graphics or complex background work. That choice gives you two codebases to build and maintain.

We usually build with React Native and add native modules where a feature needs them. We go native when deep device features call for it. Bring the tasks your customers need to complete and the device features you have in mind; those give us a useful basis for choosing the approach.

Local

What Madurai organisations need from an app

Madurai has automobile, rubber, chemical and granite manufacturers. For a manufacturer with maintenance or inspection staff in the field, an app could hold job forms, photos, signatures and locations, then sync them to the office when signal returns. Decide how much work must continue offline. Showing the last loaded information is a smaller task than allowing staff to edit records and resolving conflicts when those records sync.

The city also has government educational institutions, including Madurai Medical College and Madurai Law College. Where an organisation offers appointments, its app can bring booking, reminders and payments into the same flow, with a staff view of the day’s schedule. An admin panel gives staff a place to update content and look up customers without calling a developer for each change.

Rules

What an app project in India has to handle

For a physical service, UPI is an option for customer payments. We set up the payment-provider integration and test the checkout flow, including what happens when a payment fails. The payment provider and its access details need to be part of the project scope.

Digital purchases need a different checkout decision. Google Play requires its billing system for digital goods and subscriptions sold in the app, and does not use it for physical goods or services. We set up in-app purchases or subscriptions on the stores for the product you are selling.

How it runs

How an app project runs with us

We work remotely from India, using video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. You can review the work and give feedback without needing to meet in person.

  1. 01

    Discover

We learn about your business, audience and goals, then agree the scope with you. Bring the main task you want people to complete in the app.

  2. 02

    Design

We prepare screen designs and refine them with your feedback before coding. Put the clickable prototype in front of a few customers or staff; changing a screen at this stage costs less than changing it after it is built.

  3. 03

    Build and test

You receive test builds on your own phone through TestFlight or Google Play’s testing tracks. Use them in real situations and tell us where a task is awkward.

  4. 04

    Submit

We handle listings, submission and review under your developer accounts. If your app has a login, prepare a working demo account and live backend, and leave room for fixes and resubmission.

  5. 05

    Care

After launch, ongoing support covers bug fixes, updates for new iOS and Android versions, and new features as your needs change.

Checklist

What to have ready before we talk

A few practical details will help us discuss the work.

  • List what users must do in the first release, in the order they would do it.
  • Note the systems to connect, their APIs and who holds admin access.
  • Start registering developer accounts in your company’s name; organisation verification needs a D-U-N-S number.
  • Prepare a privacy policy that matches the data your app collects, for the app and its Apple listing.
  • Plan to keep signing access and the code repository in your business’s name.

Cost & time

What affects the cost and timeline?

The scope determines how much needs to be designed, built and tested.

  • Existing backend

A documented API can reduce the work; a new backend and admin panel can be as substantial as the app.

  • User roles

Customers, drivers and staff each need their own screens and permissions, even with a shared backend.

  • Screen design

Custom animation, extra languages and tablet layouts add design and testing across screens.

  • User content

Where people post content, Apple requires filtering, reporting, user blocking and published contact details. Those all need work in the product.

Questions

Asked by businesses in Madurai

Page updated 5 November 2026

How much does it cost to pay someone to develop an app?

There is no fixed price for every app. The work changes with the backend, the screens for each type of user and the design you need. Notifications also need a sending service, rules for who receives each message and settings for the categories people want to switch off.

How do I choose an app development company?

Look at work that is live and in use, and ask how the team will make your app useful on a phone. Apple’s guidelines expect more than a repackaged website. Also discuss whether visitors need an account before they can use the app; Apple asks apps without significant account-based features to allow use without login.

What is included in the app development work?

We build the app and can provide push notifications, along with the backend and admin tools it needs. For the first release, plan analytics and crash reporting too: tools such as Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics show which screens people use, where they give up and which devices crash.

Who owns the app after it is built?

You own your code, content and domain, with no lock-in. Keep those assets accessible to your business so you can decide who works on them later. Ask for access as part of the handover, so your staff know where the materials are when they need them.

How are fixes and updates handled after launch?

The release method depends on what changes. An over-the-air tool can deliver JavaScript and content fixes without a store build; native code changes, new permissions and Expo SDK upgrades need a store release. After each release, check retention, drop-off in the main task and the crash-free rate.
